When did you start playing your sport?

I first started playing soccer at age five, but nearly quit because there was “too much kicking ” What began as something I was hesitant to try soon became my passion I have made my closest friends through the sport and built memories I will never forget Soccer gives me a place to express myself, separate from school and home.At the end of the day, I always have practice to look forward to, and I am grateful for the sense of belonging and purpose it has given me in my communities.

Why did you choose your college and major?

Santa Clara has been my dream college since I watched the team beat Florida State in penalty kicks to win the National Championship in 2020 I have been in contact with the coach since I first became eligible, and after my first call, I knew it was the right fit I love everything about it the coaching staff, the team atmosphere and the campus It feels like a dream come true, and I am grateful to the coaches and team for welcoming me into their program I plan to major in English

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

I would like to thank my moms and dad for always believing in me and for the time and energy they have invested in helping me achieve my goals: countless hours driving me to practices and games, supporting me from the sidelines and making sacrifices so I could pursue this path Their support has shown me what unconditional love looks like Their faith in me has helped me build confidence in myself, and because of them, I have learned how to love and support others. I hope to carry that forward and share it with those around me.

Julie started playing water polo at 11, largely because her older brother, Max, who graduated from Chadwick in 2023, encouraged her to try it. Before water polo, she swam beginning at age 5, but was drawn to the sport’s team spirit and camaraderie.

Why did you choose your college and major?

Julie chose Brown University for its competitive Division I athletics and open curriculum, which allows her to balance playing water polo at a high level while pursuing her interest in history

Who has been your biggest inspiration?

Julie’s biggest influences and sources of inspiration are from her older brother Max, who helped guide her throughout her journey as a water polo athlete, and her dad Brian, who drove her around the country and gave her inspiration as he placed 9th in the 1984 Olympic Games for Canada in theTornado Catamaran Sailing class.
