The “Little Match Girl' by Hans Christian Andersen, is about a little girl sent out to sell matches on New Year's Eve. This story is possibly one of the saddest holiday stories ever told.
“Little Match Girl” is a charming literary fairy tale. The story, about a dying child's dreams and hope, was published in 1845. It has been adapted to various media, including animated, live-action, and VR films and television musicals.
The moral of the story is, "One should not ignore those in need."
The popularity of this Hans Christian Andersen masterpiece and the beautiful moral of the story led the movement to choose this in their initial undertaking of book translation projects. The movement aims to develop children’s books that are relatable to students and intends to teach and promote the Chabacano to the younger generations of Cavite City.
