Breaking Bread Together

March 14, 2026

Dear Gibbons Community,

What a joy it is to gather for this year’s Gibbons Gala. Thank you for being here and for believing so deeply in the mission of Cardinal Gibbons. Your presence and generosity make evenings like this possible — and meaningful.

Throughout our faith tradition, breaking bread together is more than sharing a meal. It is where stories are told, friendships are formed, and community grows. Our cafeteria has always been that kind of place — more than a space to eat, it is where our students connect, recharge, and belong.

Now, we have the opportunity to reimagine this space to reflect the energy and spirit of our school. Our vision is a vibrant dining space that brings the community together — with flexible, comfortable seating for meals, study, and fellowship; a refreshed design to support student activities and events; and café-style gathering areas that encourage collaboration and connection.

With your support, we can transform our cafeteria into a welcoming, modern hub — a place of nourishment, joy, and shared moments around the table.

Thank you for investing in our students and for continuing to build a community that gathers, grows, and breaks bread together.

Peace,

Thank You to Cardinal Gibbons Board Leaders

Our Mission

Cardinal Gibbons High School is a college preparatory school of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh. We embrace the mission of Jesus Christ: to form men and women of faith, service, and leadership in church and community.

You may have noticed purple accents throughout the event space. These are intentional as we celebrate the Lenten season. In the Catholic tradition, violet is the liturgical color of Lent, symbolizing penance, preparation, and reflection.

The use of lavender tablecloths and florals honors this sacred time while also creating an elegant and welcoming atmosphere.

This softer shade of violet balances reverence with a sense of hope, reminding us that Lent is not only a season of sacrifice but also one of spiritual renewal and anticipation of Easter.

Breaking Bread Together

Transforming our cafeteria into the hub of campus life

Our cafeteria has always been more than a place to eat — it’s where friendships are formed and community comes alive. Now, we have the opportunity to reimagine this beloved space.

Together, we can create a space that reflects the heart of our school — one that welcomes, gathers, and nurtures our students each day.

Our Vision

• Six skylights at the heart of the room will pour natural light into a reimagined space.

• Flexible dining and lounge areas with comfortable seating for meals, study, and fellowship.

• Café-style gathering spaces, including booth seating where students can relax, collaborate, and connect

• Updated event-friendly layout to support clubs, activities, and community events.

It will be the buyer’s responsibility to contact the donor to arrange for services or delivery, unless otherwise specified. All resort and private vacation homes are offered to adults and minors accompanied by adults.

Loving Father in Heaven, You created this beautiful world in which we walk, serve, and break bread together. Not only that, but You sent us Your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who is the true Bread from Heaven that unites and nourishes us through our common faith and in the sacraments. We, Your children, humbly ask You to continue watching over our students, our educators, our families, and our entire Gibbons community. May we be blessed tonight by Your provision as we celebrate the generous and constant support of all those who share in our mission: to form men and women of faith, service, and leadership in Church and community. We pray all this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
