MARCH 2023

Albany, Indiana

Let’s Talk Another year is off to a great start at The Community Foundation. As we wrapped up 2022, we took time to reflect on the changes and accomplishments we saw at the Foundation and across our community. (Watch for more in our 2022 Annual Report coming in June.) We have already seen the trajectory for 2023 moving upward and onward. We are energized! In this issue of Legacy, you can find out how to connect with the staff of The Community Foundation and learn about a new fund that will increase grantmaking in the community of Albany. We also introduce Community Grants and share the first quarter awards. I hope it’s clear that we are your partner in philanthropy. The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County is YOUR community foundation. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call or stop by to learn more about how you can be a partner this year! Community Foundation Staff

Over the last year, The Community Foundation announced many exciting changes: a change in leadership, a new home, new funds, and new partners. The need for these changes stems from natural growth, as the organization has worked to build and maintain the community’s trust as a resource for community philanthropic dollars. At the heart of our mission – to encourage philanthropy, assist donors in building an enduring source of charitable assets, and exercise leadership in directing resources to enhance the quality of life for residents of Muncie and Delaware County – is the need for strong relationships. Those relationships require staff to listen, learn, and share with donors, nonprofits, and fellow community leaders. continued on page 2
