2024 CFC Impact Report

Page 1

LETTER FROM THE

Dear Friends,

It was Dr. Elton Trueblood who said, “The vitality of religion is seen by its effect on culture.”

This report shares stories and numbers of the vitality of our impact on culture. Impact that lasts. Impact that comes from relationships that are built to lead others into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Impact that improves the well-being of children, families, and communities of Arizona.

The kind of impact, CFC is after requires a committed team of staff, volunteers, and financial partners to bring it about. Like Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, it takes many people working together side by side, and we are so grateful to have such a powerful team of people like you, working to build the type of relationships that bring about real-life change.

Christian Family Care is ever connecting relationally with those in need - the abused and neglected, those encountering trauma, community families lacking healthy relationships, and models of parenting.

In 2025, CFC is expanding its reach with young adults and partnering with elementary schools to support children, parents, and teachers, improve classroom behaviors, and address early childhood trauma.

The LORD has done great things in 2024 and will do even more in 2025. To God be the glory!

For the Children,

At CFC our vision —that every child should be loved and nurtured in a Christ-centered family—is one step closer— THANKS TO YOU!

CFC Mission

Strengthening families and serving at-risk children in the name of Jesus Christ.

CFC Vision

We envision a future in which every child is loved and nurtured in a Christ-centered family.

CFC Looks ahead!

Our staff has proclaimed that 2025 will be the year we focus on being visible witnesses of Christ in our communities.

Our future plans include providing Family Empowerment Services in at-risk communities, in partnership with local school districts, churches, and complementary ministries. We are also asking God to provide the perfect property to open a second Family Care KIDS early childhood learning center and a Family Empowerment Center to serve families and children in the Maryvale/West-Phoenix/Glendale area. (See concept drawing below). We are also focused on growing our services to young adults aging out of the foster care system and would like to provide Young Adult Housing to help these young adults get started in independent living. Your prayers and financial partnership enable us to bring meaningful, transformational generational impact to our communities as we focus on the vision that every child is loved and nurtured in a Christ-centered family.

One of the many God stories

“Life is a miracle, and she is our MIRACLE BABY!!”

CFC’s Marketing Manager, Lourdes and her husband, Bernard, prayed for years about starting a family. After seven years of unanswered prayers, they considered adoption. One day, Lourdes received a call from the Welcome Center about a Spanishspeaking woman seeking pregnancy support and adoption information.

During their conversation, the woman, feeling scared, asked if Lourdes had children. Lourdes shared her story, and the woman unexpectedly asked if she would adopt her baby girl.

Shocked, Lourdes called Bernard, and they agreed to pray for guidance. Lourdes later learned that the birth mom was under pressure to abort but wanted to give her baby a chance. The woman had received a brochure from CFC urging her to “say no to abortion,” which she saw as a sign and called

the next day. After more conversations, Lourdes and Bernard felt certain this child was their answer to prayer.

Two weeks later, they met the birth mom, built a close relationship, and became her support system. Despite the quick timeline, they began the adoption process with legal guidance and CFC’s help. Lourdes and Bernard were present when their daughter, Gianna Sophia, was born, and they brought her home shortly after. The

birth mom stayed with them for four days and later accepted Jesus as her Savior. Choosing open adoption, Lourdes and Bernard want Gianna to know she was loved from the start by both her birth mom and them. They believe God has special plans for her, and her adoption is a miracle. Thank you for supporting adoption stories like this, giving birth moms the resources to choose life and helping adoptive parents navigate the process.

God Story

“Fostering a child can be daunting, but for Sarah, a foster mom with Christian Family Care, it became a beautiful journey with the support of others. Along with her husband Ian, already parents to two young children, Sarah chose to foster a two-day-old baby girl while five months pregnant. Despite her fears about having the emotional, physical, spiritual, and mental capacity to care for three babies under 18 months, she trusted in God’s calling. Sarah reflects, “Sometimes God asks us to do things that are outside of our timelines, ideas, and comfort zones,” and despite her tears and doubts, she said “yes” to foster care again.”

God Story

Hannah’s father, Evan, was struggling, so she moved in with the Johnson’s, a foster family. They cared for Hannah and built a relationship with Evan, who often visited and saw what a healthy family looked like for the first time. The Johnson’s helped him get back on his feet, and today, Evan has regained custody of Hannah. Both were recently baptized and now share a strong, trusting, and loving relationship.
