When a destructive tornado hit Abilene May 18, the Community Foundation of Abilene established the Abilene Disaster Relief Fund as a safe and effective way for people to donate to help people directly impacted by tornado damage.

CFA and the United Way of Abilene have proudly joined forces in a unified effort to raise funds and provide assistance to those who have needed it. The fund has raised more than $500,000, much of which has been used to help people, like the sisters pictured here, with immediate relief needs. Remaining funds will be for long-term recovery needs. These recovery funds will be granted to vetted nonprofits helping restore damaged property.
