Last week, we celebrated the first session of our 2026-27 Special Education Induction Program! The Special Education Induction Program provides training, coaching, and ongoing support for special education teachers who are new to the field. This year, we are thrilled to welcome 37 Year 1 participants representing 18 districts, with nearly 70 special educators participating across Years 1, 2, and 3 of the program! Thank you to Heidi Siebert, our Special Education Induction Program coordinator and trainer, and to our induction coaches: Jessica Cappeart, who supports educators in Years 1–3; Becky Steensen, who supports Years 1 and 2; and Rachel Kaderabek, who supports Years 2 and 3. We are grateful for our participants and their commitment to learning, growing, and supporting students. We are also thankful to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for the grant funding that helps make this program possible and supports our shared goal of developing and retaining special education teachers across Wisconsin! We are looking forward to a great year of learning, connection, and growth!

District Spotlight - Random Lake School District B U I L D I N G C A PAC IT Y & C O L L A B O R AT IV E C U LT U R E AT R A N D O M L A K E Over the past four years, the Random Lake School District has partnered with CESA 7 to elevate instructional practice, refine multi-tiered supports, and strengthen a district-wide collaborative culture grounded in its three pillars: Strong Culture, Strong Community Connections, and Strong Classrooms. Working alongside CESA 7 experts, district educators brought instructional resources from vision to implementation and completed Act 20 Keys to Beginning Reading. Through collaborative WiMLSS meetings, the district also redefined its multi-level systems of support, reinforcing Universal (Tier 1) instruction while clarifying Tier 2 (Selected) and Tier 3 (Intensive) interventions. A key highlight has been the professional learning provided by CESA 7 Director of Learning Services, Marci Waldron-Kuhn, who works across all grade levels with both teachers and paraprofessionals to establish common Restorative Practices and language. This work centers on supporting the whole educator and the whole student through targeted classroom management and well-being initiatives, including new teacher onboarding, restorative practices, and mental health support. After practicing push-in coaching and instructional rounds alongside CESA 7 specialists, district leaders paired these protocols with educators' Professional Performance Goals (PPGs) to foster a true culture of continuous learning. "The CESA 7 training, push-in support, and network meetings enhance our district's vision, mission, and values," said Rebecca Charbonneau, Random Lake Elementary School Principal. "Having the opportunity to work with partners who walk beside you and support your growth has been the most valuable aspect of this collaboration." Together, Random Lake and CESA 7 continue to build sustainable systems that empower staff and foster instructional excellence for every student.
Literacy & Multilingual Vendor Fair SEPTEMBER 24, 2026 Yesterday, we hosted our Literacy & Multilingual Vendor Fair at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, alongside our EL/ML and Literacy Leaders Network meetings! A fantastic group of companies joined our attendees to share impactful resources designed to support student success.
