Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller, the principals of Carrier and Company Interiors, are a husband-and-wife interior design duo who create rooms that offer a confident mix of timeless and contemporary design – both familiar and fresh at once.
Their guiding philosophy focuses on connecting client with place in a manner that reflects the distinct and singular nature of both. From bohemian glamour to country charm, from modern luxe to the timeless and ineffable, from the historically informed to the tailored and refined, the Carriers delight in adapting their impassioned sensibility to the unique elements each project presents.
Carrier and Company: Positively Chic Interiors (Vendome Press) their bestselling book, offers glimpses of the private spaces of influential tastemakers in the fields of fashion and media, and features the homes of Anna Wintour, Editor-in Chief of Vogue and Artistic Director of Condé Nast and studio of fashion designer Jason Wu, among others. All of the interiors presented in Positively Chic are characteristically imbued with the personality and style of their owners, while showcasing Jesse and Mara’s core dedication to decor that feels effortless, essential, and light of spirit.
In partnership with Century Furniture, Carrier and Company is introducing their first-ever furniture collection which captures the essence of their interiors – spaces that are both dressed up and paired down, timeless and always livable. With over 50 designs, the collection spans bedroom, dining and occasional furniture, as well as range of upholstery. Familiar forms have been re-imagined in ways that render them surprising and elegant. While the multifaceted line was designed for pieces to able to be used together, mixed in a multitude of ways, each piece can stand alone.
In addition to their collection for Century Furniture, Carrier and Company will introduce decorative lighting with Visual Comfort in 2019 and, in 2020, a textile collection with Lee Jofa. Together these partnerships offer the Carrier's talent for bucking trends while staying current and combining elegance with livability.
Named to the prestigious Architectural Digest AD100, Elle Decor A-List and the Luxe Gold List, the Carriers have garnered accolades from the world’s most prominent publications, including Architectural Digest, Vogue, Town & Country, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Luxe Interiors + Design, Oprah, and World of Interiors.
Jesse and Mara met at The Fashion Institute of Technology and worked for a number of AD100 interior design firms before founding Carrier and Company Interiors in 2005. They live in New York City and upstate New York with their two children.
