Renewable energy impact on Queensland
Based on the existing workforce skills, four regions were identified as having unique opportunities to support new industries that will thrive in a decarbonised global economy.
In 2023, regional communities were invited to share their perspectives on how we can best support them in the transition to clean energy. This feedback informed the development of a regional transformation strategy for each region to support their long-term transitions.
The Regional Transformation Strategies are the first step in the Regional Growth Framework, through which we're aligning industry development, infrastructure needs and regional planning. The framework takes a place-based approach, bringing together community, government, industry and private-sector stakeholders to provide advice on economic, social and environmental outcomes for their region.
