The past year was one of meaningful momentum at the Center for the Arts. In 2025 our theaters, studios, and hallways were active with performances, classes, and community gatherings that reflected the vitality of the organizations who call this campus home.
We prioritized work that increased accessibility, helping more people feel welcomed, oriented, and able to participate fully in our spaces. The Center Theater hosted vibrant performances such as the Oaxacan fusion band La China Sonidera, while the Brainstorm Speaker Series continued to grow as a free forum for community learning and discourse. We also supported stability for our Resident Organizations and community partners alike by maintaining event rental rates at 2007 levels.
This year also marked important progress in strengthening our long-term financial foundation. For nearly two decades, The Center has maintained a 78,000 square foot campus with essentially no permanent endowment: handling essential facility work and major system upgrades on an as-needed funding basis. By the end of 2025 our endowment reached more than $7.5 million.
Building a robust endowment is one of the central goals of the Campaign for Our Creative Community, a multi-year fundraising initiative to strengthen the financial resources needed to care for the campus and support the organizations it houses. We are proud of our early progress and know there is still work to be done. We remain committed to building a future where The Center does not rely solely on annual fundraising to cover operating costs and where long-term sustainability for nonprofit arts in Jackson is secure.
As we look ahead, our focus remains the same: caring for the spaces, partnerships, and systems that support artistic expression in Jackson. Our responsibility is to meet today’s needs while ensuring we keep pace with the ambitions of a growing creative community. Thank you for helping make this work possible.

In 2025, we focused on improvements that make participation in the arts easier, more intuitive, and more inclusive, reinforcing our commitment to ensuring The Center remains a place where people of all backgrounds and abilities can engage in the arts.
As our community continues to evolve, so must our spaces, systems, and programs. These efforts reflect that need and align with the long-term vision of the Campaign for Our Creative Community. By strengthening the campus infrastructure that supports artists, audiences, and Resident Organizations, we can ensure the arts remain accessible and sustainable for the entire community.
Alongside our programmatic work, we advanced several improvements that strengthen access across campus:
Campus-wide wayfinding
Installation of the interior phase of our new wayfinding system helps visitors navigate the building with clarity, making it easier to locate venues, understand building flow, and feel oriented from the moment they arrive.
Spanish-language website translation. Every page of The Center’s website can now be viewed in Spanish with a single click, ensuring that essential information about programs, events, and services is accessible to Spanish-speaking community members.
Enhanced Theater audio. A new assisted-listening system now allows guests to hear performances more clearly through either Centerprovided receivers or by using their own phones. This upgrade offers a more reliable, customizable listening experience for guests who may need accommodations to fully enjoy their Center experience.

“Center for the Arts is my home base in Jackson Hole. It truly feels like a warm hug when I walk through the doors. My parents, Mike and Jean Louise Thieme, settled in Jackson in 1990 and quickly became involved in the planning and fundraising that helped bring The Center to life. They built lasting friendships with fellow supporters and were passionate advocates for a multipurpose arts center, including ensuring the theater had around 500 seats and space for a pit orchestra. Seeing the pit used in productions today always makes me smile. They would love to see the continued growth and success of the Resident Organizations such as Dancers’ Workshop and Off Square Theatre Company.
I have vivid memories of touring the site with my family when The Center Theater was just an excavated footprint in the ground. My mom was literally jumping up and down with excitement! Since my dad passed in 2018, I have continued to support the Center for the Arts through their endowment fund and a recent personal stock gift. Supporting The Center feels like a natural way to honor my parents and invest in the creative life of Jackson Hole for generations to come. The Center is home to 20 independent nonprofit Resident Organizations. Collectively, they represent a significant portion of Jackson Hole’s cultural nonprofit community and animate the campus throughout the year.
Resident Organizations operate throughout the building, bringing programs, performances, and learning opportunities into shared spaces and dedicated work areas. This model fosters collaboration while allowing each organization to maintain its own voice and focus.

In summer 2025, The Center and its Resident Organizations launched Artful Hour: a free weekly series inviting the community into the creative process. Through hands-on experiences led by Resident artists and partners, Artful Hour created an approachable entry point to connect with the people and programs that define The Center campus.
Highlights Include:
Jackson Hole Writers facilitated a writing feedback session that offered a glimpse into a working writer’s process and invited participants into a collaborative discussion.
Jackson Hole Public Art invited community members to design and build handcrafted lanterns for the Garden of Lanterns installation that debuted in October.
Teton Music School welcomed all ages into a community ukulele session that emphasized participation, play, and learning by doing.
After several years of planning and preparation, The Center welcomed Oaxacan cumbia band La China Sonidera to Jackson for their first performance in the United States. The 10-piece ensemble immersed themselves fully in the community, connecting with audiences across age groups and backgrounds. Their visit included a high-energy performance for K–5 students at dual-language Munger Mountain Elementary School and a campus-wide visual art installation by band member and Oaxaca-based printmaker Zaira Avalos.
The residency culminated in a vibrant, all-ages performance on The Center Theater stage, bringing together a crowd that reflected the breadth of the Jackson community.
“We celebrated our daughter’s 7th birthday by taking her and six of her friends to the La China Sonidera concert, and it was absolutely perfect. The show blended dancing, fun, and culture in a way that was engaging and appropriate for all ages. The kids loved it, the adults loved it, and we’re so grateful The Center brought such a vibrant performance to our community.”

In 2025, the Brainstorm Speaker Series continued to grow as a cornerstone of The Center’s programming. The free series is presented by The Center in partnership with the Jackson Hole News&Guide and Teton County Library, with support from Teton County Library Foundation & Friends, and brings nationally recognized voices to Jackson to spark ideas and invite thoughtful public conversation.
Equally important to the series’ growth is its commitment to accessibility. By remaining free and hosted in familiar community spaces, Brainstorm lowers barriers to participation and creates shared opportunities for learning and dialogue.
The Center Presents shows are our way of keeping The Center’s campus vibrant and offering worldclass programming to the Jackson community year-round. Ticket sales cover approximately 60% of the true production costs, with philanthropic support making it possible to keep ticket prices accessible and sustain this level of programming in an intimate setting.
The Center’s 20 Resident Organizations can rent The Center Theater for the subsidized rate of $1,000 per event, including the same professional technical and production support team that runs our Center Presents productions.
Nonprofits can rent The Center Theater for just $2,000 per event, which includes support from our professional technical production staff. A number of additional event spaces, including The Center Park, Conference Room, Theater Lobby, and The Center Commons are also available to nonprofits at affordable rates.

pledges made in 2025 to the Campaign for our Creative Community are included in total revenue for the year.
In 2025, The Center reached its highest level of activity to date, reflecting sustained demand for performances, programs, and shared creative space. This momentum reinforces the need for long-term financial stability to support a campus in near-constant use.
Over the past year, The Center added $3 million to its operating endowment, bringing the balance to $7.6 million as of December 31, 2025. Continued endowment growth remains a core priority in supporting strategic maintenance, preserving affordability for Resident Organizations, and sustaining this level of activity over time.
The Center was founded to address a critical gap in Jackson: the lack of stable, affordable space where artistic nonprofits could grow. Nearly 20 years later, The Campaign for Our Creative Community is positioned to ensure those principles remain embedded in the future of our campus and the broader community.
With 78,000 square feet of year-round creative campus, ongoing capital work is essential to maintaining safe, accessible, and high-quality spaces.
Recent and ongoing investments include:
• Overhaul of the facility’s nearly 20-year-old boiler system
• Theater lighting upgrades, including full LED house lighting and new stage capabilities.
• Continued progress on campus-wide wayfinding to improve accessibility and navigation
Providing affordable space for the arts community is central to The Center’s mission. In recent years, The Center has made a strategic decision not only to maintain highly subsidized rents, but to further reduce Resident lease rates. This commitment has been upheld while investing more than $1 million in essential facility maintenance and campus upgrades.
Located between Cache and Glenwood streets just south of the town square, our 78,000-square-foot building and adjacent Center Park are the hub of our vibrant cultural community.
