We are at a Pivotal Crossroads of Need and Opportunity
Jackson’s Center for the Arts was conceived by the arts community in the 1990s and brought to life in the early 2000s by these visionaries and their supporters. Today, parents who took classes here as teens bring their children to campus. Our ecosystem of Resident partner nonprofits has become vital to Jackson’s cultural fabric. Here, we all experience the joy and awe art inspires, take creative risks, and find meaningful personal connection.
Our success brings us to an organizational crossroads of need and opportunity. With costs rising and major renovations needed on our well-loved nearly 20-year-old campus, our current payas-we-go funding model is unsustainable and leaves little room for artistic growth. Together, we have the chance to uplift this critical community resource for the next generation by investing in campus renovations and creating financial sustainability to support our Residents and program underwriting. We envision a vibrant future where we can continue to expand and improve the artistic experience in Jackson.

Please join us in investing in a bright future for The Center’s

Without a New Funding Strategy, We Will Continue to Fall Further Behind on Critical Infrastructure Maintenance and Improvements $450,000
Expenses exceeding revenue.
$6 million of additional spending will be needed to maintain the building over the next four years.
Our Plan to Grow and Thrive
A Comprehensive Campaign will allow us to build on our past 20 years of success and to grow and thrive in the coming decades.
$6 Million – Renovate and Upgrade Key Campus Areas
Improvements, as identified through professional building and theater assessments, will ensure the safety of visitors, evolve our systems to maintain state-of-the-art services, overhaul wayfinding and accessibility, and continually improve the flexibility of our shared spaces.
$10 Million – Build a Robust Endowment
A proactive funding strategy will allow us to grow our ambitions, address future capital needs, and expand support for our Residents by decreasing occupancy costs and launching a program underwriting fund.
$6 Million – Deliver For Our Community
Meeting and elevating our mission means that we will maintain below-market leases and facility rentals, host dozens of free annual events, bring nationally touring acts to our mountain town, and provide Resident support in perpetuity.

TOGETHER LETʼS SHEPHERD THE CENTER FOR THE ARTS INTO ITS NEXT TWO DECADES.
“I think of The Center as the other town square. It’s where everyone gathers. The art, the theater, the music – it’s the heart and soul of the community.”
– Lindsay Wilcox, Campaign Co-Chair

This is not just about the Center for the Arts, but it’s about investing in the creative life of Jackson. Together, we offer a portal to the world, a place to be introduced to new art forms and ways of seeing.
Through this transformative campaign, we will have greater flexibility and sustainability. We strive to create spaces for new opportunities and continue to evolve as one of Jackson’s key gathering places.
Your investment will mean that the Center for the Arts will continue to be the epicenter of arts and cultural events in our community.
Thank you for your support.
