CITY UPDATES CITY OPERATIONS AND SERVICES FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND
City of Celina administrative offices will be closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. While administrative facilities will be closed, the City’s first responders will remain on duty, and essential services will continue to support the community throughout the holiday. Regular City administrative operations will resume Tuesday, September 8. PARKS & RECREATION: The Ralph O’Dell Senior Center will maintain its regular operating hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Friday, September 4. The facility is regularly closed Saturday and Sunday and will remain closed Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. CELINA PUBLIC LIBRARY: The Celina Public Library will maintain regular operating hours Friday through Sunday and will be closed Monday, September 7, for the holiday. PUBLIC WORKS: Public Works will operate with limited staffing on Friday, September 4, with on-call personnel available to respond to service needs. On Monday, September 7, on-call personnel will remain available for necessary service responses. Treatment plant operations will continue as usual throughout the holiday period, as those employees observe holidays on alternate dates. UTILITY CUSTOMER SERVICE: Utility Customer Service will maintain normal operations Friday, September 4. Requests received over the weekend or on Monday, September 7, will be reviewed beginning Tuesday, September 8, when regular operations resume. BUILDING SERVICES: Building Services will maintain its regular work schedule on Friday, September 4. No in-
spection crews will be working Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Regular inspection services will resume Tuesday, September 8. SOLID WASTE SERVICES: There will be no interruption or change to the regular solid waste collection schedule in observance of Labor Day.
FALL FRIDAY NIGHT MARKET SERIES BEGINS ON SEPTEMBER 4 The fall series of Celina Friday Night Market presented by Renewal by Andersen begins Friday, September 4, from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on the Downtown Square. The monthly market provides residents and visitors an opportunity to gather in the heart of Downtown Celina while supporting local vendors, artisans, and small businesses. Celina Friday Night Market continues to serve as an important community gathering experience, contributing to the vibrancy of the Downtown Square and encouraging connections among residents, visitors, and local businesses. Griffin Holtby will serve as the evening’s special musical guest, providing live entertainment throughout the event.
SPLASH PAD AT OLD CELINA PARK CONCLUDES 2026 SEASON The Splash Pad at Old Celina Park (OCP) will operate Friday, September 4, through Monday, September 7, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and again from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Monday, September 7, will mark the final day of Splash Pad operations for the 2026 season. The facility will close beginning Tuesday, September 8, and is scheduled to reopen for the summer season during Memorial Day weekend 2027.

LEGACY DR PROJECT PROGRESSES TOWARD COMPLETION Major roadway improvements continue along N. and S. Legacy Dr between W. Frontier Pkwy and Carey Rd as part of the Merritt Crossing development. Crews are nearing completion of paving on the northern portion of the project and have removed the temporary transition near W. Frontier Pkwy as work advances toward completion of the remaining improvements. While portions of the northbound lanes are located within the Town of Prosper, the bridge is a City of Celina improvement and represents an important component of the overall project. The roadway is anticipated to open to traffic in October. Motorists are encouraged to continue exercising caution through the construction area and remain alert for crews, equipment, and changing traffic conditions as the project progresses.
ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE PROJECTS CONTINUE ACROSS CELINA The City’s Annual Street Maintenance (ASM) Program will continue with asphalt spot repairs along N. Arizona Dr and in the Harvest Glen area. These projects are part of the City’s ongoing investment in preserving local roadways and maintaining the safety, quality, and longevity of Celina’s transportation infrastructure. N. ARIZONA DR – W. CELINA TO COMMEMORATE 25TH ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11
The City will host its annual 9/11 Anniversary Ceremony on Friday, September 11, at 8:00 AM on the Downtown Square. This year’s ceremony carries special significance as the community marks the 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The ceremony will provide an opportunity for the Celina community to come together in remembrance of the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day and to honor the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, members of the military, and countless individuals who answered the call to serve in the days, months, and years that followed. The observance will also recognize the enduring spirit of unity, resilience, and service that emerged across the nation in the aftermath of the attacks. As Celina commemorates this significant anniversary, the ceremony will serve as a solemn reminder of the importance of remembering those who were lost, honoring those who served, and ensuring that the legacy of September 11 continues to be shared with future generations.
DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY PHASE 4A PROJECT: LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION As part of the continued progress on the DNT Phase 4A project, construction crews will soon implement targeted lane closures to support key project activities. These closures are necessary to facilitate the transport of topsoil, conduct mass haul operations, perform area cleanup, and set structural beams. It is important to note that full closure of the left lanes is not anticipated. Tuesday, September 8, through Saturday, September 12: •
The northbound and southbound left lane of Dallas Pkwy from First St to FM 428 will be closed daily from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

The northbound right lane of Dallas Pkwy from Frontier Pkwy to Punk Carter Pkwy will be closed daily from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Monday, September 21, through Saturday, September 26: •
All lanes of eastbound and westbound Collin County Outer Loop between northbound and southbound Dallas Pkwy will be closed nightly from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
