CITY UPDATES
BOBCAT TAILGATE TO KICK OFF THE 2026 FOOTBALL SEASON
The Celina Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Bobcat Tailgate on Saturday, August 8, at 8:00 AM at Bobcat Stadium, bringing the community together to celebrate the start of the 2026 football season. The event provides an opportunity for residents to show their Bobcat spirit, meet coaches and student-athletes, purchase new season merchandise, and connect with fellow fans ahead of the upcoming season. Approximately 70 local businesses are expected to participate in support of the event, further demonstrating the strong partnership between the business community, Celina ISD, and the City. The Bobcat Tailgate continues to serve as a valued community tradition that celebrates school pride while fostering connections among residents, businesses, and student-athletes.
ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM CONTINUES ON GA MOORE PKWY
The 2026 Annual Street Maintenance (ASM) Program is underway as crews perform asphalt repairs on GA Moore Pkwy between Preston Rd and Business 289. This preventative maintenance project preserves pavement conditions, improves roadway safety, and extends the service life of the City’s transportation infrastructure. Construction began on July 27, and is anticipated to be completed by August 12, weather permitting.
CURRENT CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
• Asphalt spot repairs are underway along GA Moore Pkwy between Preston Rd and Business 289.
• Crews continue roadway maintenance operations throughout the project corridor.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
• Resident and emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout construction.
• Only local traffic is permitted within the active work zone.
• Through traffic is encouraged to use Business 289/E. Carthage Rd or CR 95 as alternate routes.
• Celina ISD staff should access the Elementary and Middle Schools from Louisiana Dr.
• Flaggers remain on-site to safely direct traffic, and the contractor continues to actively manage traffic control throughout the project.
The Annual Street Maintenance Program is a proactive investment in Celina’s roadway infrastructure, helping preserve existing pavement, improve driving conditions, enhance public safety, and reduce long-term maintenance costs. These improvements ensure the City’s transportation network continues to reliably serve residents, businesses, and visitors while supporting the community’s continued growth.

COIT RD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT ADVANCES TO NEXT PHASE
Construction continues to progress on the Coit Rd Improvement Project between Vest Ln and Choate Pkwy as crews prepare to transition to the next phase of roadway reconstruction. Beginning Friday, July 31, traffic will be shifted onto the newly constructed concrete pavement, allowing work to begin on the opposite side of the roadway while maintaining two-way traffic throughout construction.
CURRENT CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES
• Traffic will transition to the newly constructed concrete pavement beginning July 31.
• Reconstruction of the opposite side of Coit Rd will begin following the traffic shift.
• Crews will enlarge the Ownsby Pkwy roundabout to improve turning movements for larger vehicles.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
• Two-way traffic will be maintained throughout construction using temporary traffic configurations.
• Traffic control measures will remain in place to provide safe travel through the work zone.
• Motorists are encouraged to use caution for construction crews and changing traffic patterns.
The Coit Rd Improvement Project will reconstruct the corridor as a four-lane concrete roadway with curb and gutter, enclosed drainage, landscaping, irrigation, and street lighting. Additional improvements include enhanced intersections at Vest Ln and new roundabouts at Punk Carter Pkwy and Ownsby Pkwy, providing increased roadway capacity, improved traffic operations, and enhanced safety to support Celina’s continued growth.

DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY PHASE 4A PROJECT: LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION
As part of the continued progress on the DNT Phase 4A project, construction crews will soon implement targeted lane closures to support key project activities. These closures are necessary to facilitate the transport of topsoil, conduct mass haul operations, perform area cleanup, and set structural beams. It is important to note that full closure of the left lanes is not anticipated.
Monday, August 3, through Saturday, August 8:
• The northbound and southbound left lane of Dallas Pkwy from First St to FM 428 will be closed daily from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
