CITY UPDATES CITY ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES HOLIDAY CLOSURE As a reminder, the City’s Administrative Offices will be closed in observance of the Christmas holiday on Christmas Eve and Christmas. This temporary closure allows City staff to celebrate the holiday season with their families and reflect on the year’s accomplishments, while also ensuring the continued well-being and work-life balance of our team. Normal operations will resume on Friday, December 26, 2025.
CAPTURE THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT WITH SANTA On Saturday, December 20, the City will host its annual Photos with Santa event on the Downtown Square from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This festive occasion is part of the City’s broader Countdown to Christmas celebration, designed to bring the community together and create memorable holiday experiences for families and residents of all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa Claus, enjoy the vibrant holiday atmosphere of the Downtown Square, and participate in the seasonal traditions that make Celina a welcoming and family-friendly community. The event highlights the City’s ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement and celebrating the holiday season in a safe and enjoyable setting.
CELINA FIREFIGHTERS COMPLETE PARAMEDIC TRAINING The City would like to formally recognize the outstanding achievement of six Celina Fire Department firefighters who successfully completed paramedic school training during their probationary year. Completing this rigorous and demanding program while meeting the expectations of a probationary assignment reflects a high level of professionalism, dedication, and commitment to public service. These individuals have demonstrated a strong investment in their personal development and in the continued excellence of the Celina Fire Department. Their efforts enhance the Department’s operational capabilities and directly support the delivery of high-quality emergency medical services to the community. The City is grateful for their decision to serve with the Celina Fire Department and for their continued commitment to their crews and the residents of Celina.

E. WALNUT ST ASPHALT REPAIR PROJECT As part of the City of Celina’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing its transportation infrastructure, the Annual Street Maintenance (ASM) Program focuses on the systematic repair and preservation of local roadways. The current ASM initiative includes targeted asphalt roadway repairs in multiple locations throughout the City, including sections of E. Walnut St. PROJECT SCOPE The scope of work for this project consists of asphalt spot repairs along E. Walnut St, specifically within the 300 and 400 blocks between S. Oklahoma St and S. Arkansas Dr. PROJECT SCHEDULE (Weather Permitting) Start Date: December 17, 2025 Estimated Completion Date: January 7, 2026 TRAFFIC IMPACTS & ACCESS During construction, traffic will be limited to local access only within the affected areas. Residential access will be maintained via New Mexico St. The contractor will be responsible for implementing and managing all necessary traffic control measures to ensure public safety and minimize disruptions throughout the duration of the project. The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of residents and motorists during this maintenance effort. These improvements represent a critical investment in the safety, durability, and long-term performance of Celina’s street network and support the City’s continued growth and mobility objectives.
DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY PHASE 4A PROJECT: LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION As part of the continued progress on the DNT Phase 4A project, construction crews will soon implement targeted lane closures to support key project activities. These closures are necessary to facilitate the transport of topsoil, conduct mass haul operations, perform area cleanup, and set structural beams. It is important to note that full closure of the left lanes is not anticipated. Efforts will be made to ensure that lane closures are coordinated to prevent conflicts within overlapping work zones. Monday, December 22, through Wednesday, December 24: •
The northbound and southbound left lane of Dallas Pkwy from First St to FM 428 will be closed daily from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
