CITY UPDATES
CELINA FRIDAY NIGHT MARKET RETURNS TO THE DOWNTOWN SQUARE
The City invites residents and visitors to the Downtown Square for the Celina Friday Night Market, presented by Renewal by Andersen, on Friday, April 10, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. This event serves as a community-focused initiative designed to promote local commerce, foster engagement, and enhance the vibrancy of Celina’s downtown district.
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience a dynamic, open-air marketplace featuring a diverse range of vendors offering homemade, handmade, and homegrown goods. The event also provides an avenue to support local businesses and entrepreneurs while enjoying a family-friendly atmosphere.
In addition to shopping, guests can enjoy a variety of food offerings from local establishments and live musical entertainment from this month’s featured performer, Jason Jobst. The event will also include the Celina150 raffle, offering attendees an interactive experience reminiscent of traditional Saturday drawings on the Square.
TOUCH-A-TRUCK RETURNS TO OLD CELINA PARK ON SATURDAY, APRIL 11
The City invites residents to attend Touch-A-Truck, presented by Cook Children’s Health Care System, a free, family-oriented event designed to provide an interactive and educational experience for the community. The event will take place on Saturday, April 11, from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Old Celina Park, with a special Quiet Hour for children with disabilities from 9:00 - 10:00 AM to ensure a comfortable and accessible experience for all attendees.
Participants will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of vehicles and equipment essential to daily City operations, including public safety and construction assets. The event also provides a unique chance to en-
gage directly with City staff and learn more about the critical services they provide. Touch-A-Truck is designed to create a hands-on environment where children can safely interact with vehicles, climb aboard, and experience equipment up close, fostering both education and community connection.

CITY ANNOUNCES RECENT STAFFING UPDATES AND PROMOTIONS
The City is pleased to report recent updates to its workforce, including new hires, internal promotions, and employees who have achieved professional certifications. Several positions across City departments have been filled with qualified individuals, strengthening the organization’s capacity to serve the community effectively. In addition, internal promotions reflect recognition of employee performance, leadership, and commitment to the City’s mission.
VEST LANE CLOSED AT COIT ROAD FOR ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
Beginning Monday, April 13, Vest Lane at Coit Rd will be closed to traffic to facilitate roadway improvements as part of the Coit Road Capital Improvement Project (CIP). During this closure, a designated detour will be in place directing southbound traffic from Vest Lane to Wells Rd, westbound on Frontier Pkwy, and then northbound on Coit Rd to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow.
In conjunction with this closure, a temporary traffic pattern shift will be implemented along Coit Rd between Lantana Lane and Ownsby Pkwy. Two-way traffic will be routed onto newly constructed pavement within this segment to accommodate intersection improvements at Coit Rd and Vest Lane. Traffic will return to its original alignment upon reaching Ownsby Pkwy.
These traffic modifications and closures are expected to remain in effect for approximately two months, weather permitting. The City will continue to monitor conditions and adjust operations as needed to minimize disruption and maintain safety for motorists and the construction workforce.
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC PATTERN SHIFT ON OWNSBY PARKWAY
Beginning Monday, April 13, a temporary traffic pattern shift will be implemented along Ownsby Pkwy between County Road 83 and Coit Rd to accommodate roadway improvements as part of the Coit Road Capital Improvement Project (CIP). Two-way traffic will be routed onto the southern lanes of Ownsby Pkwy to facilitate construction of the roundabout at the intersection of Ownsby Pkwy and Coit Rd.
This traffic modification is anticipated to remain in effect for approximately two months, weather permitting. The City will continue to monitor conditions and coordinate with the contractor to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow throughout the construction period.
N. LEGACY DR FULL CLOSURE FOR ROADWAY CONSTRUCTION
Beginning Monday, April 13, N. Legacy Dr will be closed to traffic in both directions between Parvin Rd and Frontier Pkwy to accommodate construction of a new roadway corridor. This project represents a strategic infrastructure investment aimed at improving traffic flow, enhancing safety, and increasing connectivity to support the City’s continued growth.
The closure is anticipated to remain in effect through December 2026. During this period, motorists are advised to utilize designated alternate routes and allow for additional travel time. Detour routes will be clearly marked, and appropriate signage will be in place to facilitate safe and efficient navigation around the construction area. Staff will continue to monitor progress and coordinate efforts to minimize disruptions where possible. The City appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as we advance this critical infrastructure improvement.
NEW ISSUE OF LIFE CONNECTED. MAGAZINE NOW AVAILABLE

DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY PHASE 4A PROJECT: LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION
As part of the continued progress on the DNT Phase 4A project, construction crews will soon implement targeted lane closures to support key project activities. These closures are necessary to facilitate the transport of topsoil, conduct mass haul operations, perform area cleanup, and set structural beams. It is important to note that full closure of the left lanes is not anticipated.
Monday, April 13, through Saturday, April 18:
• The northbound and southbound left lane of Dallas Pkwy from First St to FM 428 will be closed daily from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM.
Monday, April 13, through Friday, April 17:
• The northbound-to-southbound First St U-turn lane will be closed daily from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
