In addition, hard-to-abate processes such as forging—requiring ~1,200°C heat—remained difficult to decarbonize, with technologies like green hydrogen and green steel not yet commercially viable at scale.

A critical inflection point was achieving 100% visibility across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, revealing that 67% of its footprint originated in the supply chain.
