It was a breakout afternoon for Cecil College freshman Luke Moore. The recent Rising Sun High School graduate posted a career-high 19 points for the Seahawks in their 84-74 win against the visiting Community College of Beaver County to extend their winning streak to three games. Moore went 8-of-12 from the floor, was a perfect 3-for3 from the free throw line and led all scorers on just 23 minutes of playing time. The effort helped the Seahawks improve their overall record to 6-4 and make it six wins in their last seven games. Cecil pulled ahead of Beaver County at the start of the matchup, but the Titans fought back to make it a see-saw matchup. The Seahawks dropped a bas-

ket inside 9:00 put them ahead for the remainder of the game. After some solid Cecil defense stopped Beaver County threats, N'Fari Benjamin and Dominic Carrington dropped three pointers to extend the lead. The Titans went into halftime down by nine, but were able to fight back to within a basket before the Cecil College defense proved too much for them. Benjamin and Frank Toney each buried three 3-pointers on the evening and scored 13 and 14 points respectively for the Seahawks. Vernon Simmons added 14 for Cecil College and led the team with eight rebounds on the afternoon. The win sets up a matchup on the road Wednesday with conference rival CCBC Catonsville who are currently 3-6 on the season.
