CVBATRENDINGNEWS The CVBA celebrated its 5-year anniversary with a great turnout at our Summer Mixer! Despite a little rain, guests enjoyed an evening filled with networking, connections, and celebration at The Goldfish Barn. Attendees had the opportunity to visit with 20 vendors, take home some great door prizes, and celebrate this milestone together. The Floor Trader Outlet of Chambersburg welcomed CVBA members for July's Mingle in the Morning, providing a great opportunity to connect with fellow professionals before the start of the workday. What a great summer evening at beautiful Meritus Park with the Hagerstown Flying Boxcars! CVBA members enjoyed light appetizers and refreshments while networking before settling in for an exciting night of baseball. The Flying Boxcars, Hagerstown’s Atlantic League team, brought plenty of energy to the ballpark, making it the perfect setting to relax, connect with fellow members, and enjoy America’s favorite pastime. With the team battling through the season and working toward a winning record, there was plenty to cheer about from the stands. From the beautiful stadium atmosphere to the on field action and great conversations, it was a fantastic way to spend a summer evening. The CVBA Ambassador group recently heard from Ms. Wheelchair PA, Jamie Clendening. Jamie is a passionate advocate for healthcare access equity and disability inclusion. Born with spina bifida and scoliosis, she became a T-10 incomplete paraplegic following spinal surgery in 2011. She is a graduate of Wilson College, a certified peer mentor and Regional Champion with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation. She is also the founder of an online support community, I Can and I Wheel! Through her advocacy, volunteer work, and public speaking, she empowers individuals with disabilities, promotes equal access to healthcare, equipment, and services, and encourages others to live independently and confidently. Yeshua Home for Children began with a desire to change lives. Founder and President Jerome E. Jackson Jr. established the nonprofit with a clear vision: to help young adults successfully transition into adulthood by providing the guidance, encouragement, safety, and support they need to discover their full potential. Jerome believes today's young adults are tomorrow's leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, business owners, parents, and community advocates. When they are given genuine love, consistent guidance, and opportunities to grow, they can build lives filled with purpose and positively influence generations to come. Yeshua Home for Children is initially focused on serving young adults ages 18–24 during one of life's most important transitions. While the organization's long-term vision includes expanding services to younger children, its current mission is to provide young adults with a safe, supportive environment where they can develop confidence,

For Jerome, success isn't measured by the number of residents served—it is measured by lives transformed. “I hope every young adult who leaves Yeshua Home for Children can honestly say, ‘They believed in me. They cared about me. They helped me discover my purpose and showed me that my future could be greater than my past.’” That belief is rooted in Jerome's own philosophy of life. “Life has taught me that each of us has the power to change. Our name changed to WIN Victim Services to better reflect the people we serve — women, men, and children, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, race, ethnicity, ability and immigration status. Since its inception, WIN Victim Services has grown from a small group of volunteers to an agency employing approximately 21 staff members. What was once a hotline-only service has developed into a comprehensive organization offering a full range of services to sexual assault and domestic violence victims in our community. He will lead the health system’s information technology and analytics, overseeing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, application strategy, and enterprise analytics. Jamal brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience in healthcare and technology. Most recently, he served as global chief technology officer at Providence Health, leading infrastructure, cloud, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity initiatives. The Allison-Antrim Museum hosted its monthly speaker meeting in Greencastle, featuring local historian and Olympia Candy Kitchen owner Will Pananes. As part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, Pananes presented The Birthplace of the U.S. Regular Army, highlighting Chambersburg’s connection to Company A of Col. William Thompson’s Rifle Battalion, the first military unit authorized by the Continental Congress in 1775. RALLY IN THE VALLEY: PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT Pickleball enthusiasts ages 12 and up are invited to compete in the Fifth Annual Pickleball Tournament, Rally in the Valley, hosted as a fundraiser for the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce at the Chambersburg Memorial YMCA on October 16 and 17. Players of all skill levels are invited to participate. Divisions and brackets will be finalized after registration closes to ensure the best possible playing experience. Age and skill groupings will be determined based on registration numbers, allowing us to create competitive brackets with meaningful match play for all participants. Mixed doubles will compete the evening of October 16 and men's and women's divisions will happen on October 17. The tournament will be held indoors at the YMCA at 570 E. CHAMBER GOLF TOURNAMENT The 31st Annual Chambersburg Chamber Golf Tournament will return on October 8, presented by Starr Insurance. September 2026 Dear Chamber members, In accordance with the bylaws of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce, the Nominating Committee is pleased to report the nomination of the following members to serve on the board of directors of the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce. All of them will serve for a period of three (3) years beginning November 2026. This slate was selected after considering fair representation of the membership. Additional names of candidates for directors can be nominated by petition bearing the genuine signatures of at least 20 qualified members and must be filed within 10 days of receipt of this nominating report. The nominees submitted by the Nominating Committee are: Scott Bert Nominee for first term on the board of directors. Scott Bert currently works at HRG serving as a Team Leader and overseeing staff in the Chambersburg office. He is also a project manager responsible for all aspects of land development projects. He has experience working with clients across varying industries and project types that include warehouses and distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, commercial and retail developments, medical facilities and healthcare institutions, K-12 and higher education, churches and non-profit organizations, and residential developments. Prior to joining HRG, Scott worked with his father at Carl Bert & Associates, Inc. Scott has spent his entire life in Franklin County living in Shippensburg with the exception of a four year period in Romania where he served as a missionary with this family. He and his wife Lindsay have two married kids and one still in college and a baby granddaughter. In his free time, he enjoys travelling to visit his children who all live in other states. He also enjoys following all Philadelphia sports teams, coaching youth basketball, DIY projects, and being involved at his church. Barb Runyon Nominee for first term on the board of directors. Barbra L. Runyon is a lifelong resident of Franklin County with deep roots in the local community. Growing up, she watched her parents work tirelessly to establish and grow Brechbill & Helman Construction Company, laying the foundation for a family legacy that continues today. In 1996, Barb followed her passion for travel and opened Your Travel Specialist on Wayne Avenue. Her love of exploring the world has taken her to many countries and given her a wealth of experiences along the way. After welcoming two children, Barb returned to Brechbill & Helman, where she now proudly represents the second generation of family leadership. She continues to build upon the values, hard work, and commitment to the community that her parents established. Barb and her husband Matt live in Fayetteville and are proud to call Franklin County home. Patrick Mulherin Nominee for first term on the board of directors. Patrick Mulherin relocated to the Cumberland Valley to attend Shippensburg University beginning in 2002. After graduating in 2006 he joined SEK CPA’s supporting closely held businesses with their tax, accounting, and advisory needs through 2018. Starting in 2018, he joined M&T Bank as a Business Banking Relationship Manager serving Chambersburg, Shippensburg, and surrounding communities. Since 2018 he has worked
closely with businesses on their banking needs, regularly serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and their families. His skills in financial analysis, business development, and long-term relationship building have allowed him to excel within the banking arena for 8+ years. Recently being promoted to Senior Vice President and Senior Relationship Manager II. His professional background, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to community have provided opportunities to serve on several Chambersburg based community non-profit boards over his tenure at M&T, several of them in leadership capacities. Still residing in Shippensburg, Patrick spends time with his young sons (Beckett and Cooper), beautiful wife Melanie, and pup Lakyn. If he’s not next to his family, he’s probably on a golf course! Angi Quiqley Nominee for first term on the board of directors. Angi Quigley provides tax services, financial statement preparation, bookkeeping, and Sage 50 consulting services for clients ranging from small, family-owned businesses to multi-state corporate manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and healthcare providers. She provides special support for companies that qualify for the Research Tax Credit. She also aids manufacturing businesses in navigating product costing through comprehensive Cost Studies. Angi joined SEK in 2010 and has been a Member of the Firm since 2022. In addition to her client responsibilities, Angi serves as Director of Technology, managing and overseeing the firm's technology operations. Angi was selected as a 2024 Women of Influence honoree by Central Penn Business Journal (CPBJ). Women of Influence honors high-achieving women for their career accomplishments based on their professional experience, community involvement, and commitment to mentoring. She was also named a Forty Under 40 honoree by CPBJ in 2021 for her professional accomplishments, community service, and commitment to inspiring change. Derek Taylor Nominee for second term on the board of directors. Derek Taylor is an owner and partner of Starr Insurance in Chambersburg. He began working at Starr as the COO in 2018 following a successful career with Erie Insurance in Harrisburg as a district sales manager. Derek graduated cum laude from Mount St. Mary’s University with a major in sports management and marketing. He is a 2022 graduate of the Leadership Franklin County program and currently serves on the Chambersburg Country Club Board of Directors and Greater Chambersburg Chamber Foundation Board of Directors. Brian Zoeller Nominee for second term on the board of directors. Brian Zoeller is a lifelong Chambersburg resident, entrepreneur, and real estate investor dedicated to strengthening his community through real estate and local business. A 2001 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School (CASHS) and Penn State University, Brian began his career as a high school art teacher and basketball coach before transitioning into real estate investment in 2014. Brian also served for six years as Head Men's Basketball Coach at Wilson College and remains actively involved in youth basketball throughout the region. Together with his wife, Leanne, Brian owns and operates The Zoeller Company, a full-service real estate, property management, maintenance, and construction firm serving investors, businesses, and homeowners throughout Franklin County. They also own and operate Jim's Farmers Market, a long-time Chambersburg landmark. Brian and Leanne live in Chambersburg with their daughter, Sophia.
