ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Mia Ochoa is a senior clarinetist studying Music Education with an instrumental emphasis at CBU. During her studies, she has participated in various ensembles such as the CBU Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Combo, and Pep Band, performing on clarinet, bass clarinet, and the electric bass. Instructionally, she has assisted and performed with the 2025 and 2026 High School Honor Band festivals hosted by CBU. Along with volunteering at the Riverside Arts Academy for the 23-24 school year, she has also assisted as a woodwind coach for Hillcrest High School’s summer band camp under the direction of Kristen Matthews. Mia also has been teaching private lessons at the elementary level for the past year and a half. With a love for the Lord and music, Mia has also been involved in music ministry at her parish since 2020 and is excited to extend that love of music to her current and future students.

COLLABORATIVE ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

During her undergraduate years, Brenda Reinebach double majored in Vocal Performance and Music Education, with a piano performance major, and won a South Carolina State performance competition with the Saint-Saëns Concerto in G Minor. Moving to CA in 1985, she assumed directorship of the piano classes at Azusa Pacific University along with the Department of Vocal Performance. Her keyboard skills as a church musician, collaborative pianist, and keyboard improviser run the gamut from Christian contemporary classical to commercial literature.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Before anything, I thank the Lord for this recital. It’s a representation of His guidance, my time of growth at CBU, as well as the great support and sacrifice of my family. My constant prayer over the years has been for His will to be done in my life, and for Him to be glorified in the music that I play. I could not be more grateful for this opportunity, for Professor St. Marseille’s instruction, and for the guidance of every professor or faculty member that I have had the pleasure of learning from. I would also like to extend my gratitude to my parents Felipe and Maira Ochoa, who have made great sacrifices for me to pursue higher education, and have supported me through every step. Pa, Ma, Anthony, Jacob, Eden, y Gigi; le doy gracias a Dios por tener a ustedes como mi familia. My thanks also go out to my family and friends who have supported, motivated, loved, and prayed for me during my time of preparation for this recital. I thank God for your hearts and spending your time here tonight.

“Jesus does not demand great actions from us but simply surrender and gratitude.” -St. Thérèse of Lisieux
