Loss, hardship, and old age. These difficulties often go hand in hand. Maria, a 95-year-old Holocaust survivor, has suffered the horrors of war. When World War II ended, she was shocked to discover her childhood home had been demolished. Now living in Israel, she must contend with frequent rocket fire. Without close relatives nearby, she spends her time housebound and alone.

Her inadequate pension prevents her from maintaining her small apartment, and it fell into terrible disrepair. But CBN Israel, with the help of our compassionate partners, stepped in and stopped the leaks, restored the damage, and renovated the rooms. With our vouchers, Maria purchases nutritious food, medicine, and other essentials. “Thank you for caring about me,” she said with deep gratitude. “Your kindness means more than you know!”

HELP FOR A HOLOCAUST SURVIVOR

You blessed military families.

When military moms and dads go to work, kids long for a cheerful distraction. So, kindhearted partners like you offered them the gift of encouragement they needed.

CBN’S HELPING THE HOME FRONT

CBN’s Helping the Home Front connected with Support Military Families to distribute 1,000 Superbook goodie boxes to children at several military bases in North Carolina. Kids loved the DVDs, toys, and fun activities found inside.

A co-founder of Support Military Families said, “Together we act as the hands and feet of Jesus to serve military children—the littlest heroes.”

“With my husband in Korea, this is such a blessing, and it puts a smile on my child’s face,” one parent shared.

Yhong and her two boys were forced to flee from her husband’s cruelty. She did her best to support her sons by working as a seamstress from her home in Thailand. But without warning, her husband’s creditors demanded that she pay his debts. To raise the needed funds, she sold everything—including her precious sewing machine. “I have nothing left,” she confessed. “How will I make a living?” She had to beg for money until she found a live-in housekeeping position at a university. A NEW BUSINESS BRINGS HOPE

Thanks to friends like you, CBN’s Operation Blessing in Costa Rica was able to bring Kenia what she needed to restart her business— including shelving, groceries, snacks, and signs. With pandemic restrictions lifted, the store is now thriving.

Kenia was struggling to support her 10-year-old daughter by working at a supermarket and selling handmade jewelry from home. Then the pandemic hit, and she lost her job. This single mom had a dream of starting her own business, so she invested the last of her savings to open a small grocery shop. But with few customers during the pandemic, products expired and the business failed.

In 1981, CBN partners helped launch Superbook, an animated Bible series, as part of an outreach to the nation of Japan. Little did we realize what impact the series would have around the world.

In the last year, more than 2 million individuals viewed the Gospel presentation in the Superbook Bible app, with over 200,000 indicating praying the Salvation Prayer.

CBN now has at least one complete season of Superbook in 63 languages and dialects, with others in progress. Superbook Academy is in 21 languages and dialects, and the Superbook Kids Bible app has been

accepted Jesus as her Savior.

One day, after praying that prayer, Ester realized she needed forgiveness, too, and she asked Jesus to become her Savior. “I really thank God because He is in my heart now,” she said. “I also thank God because He has changed me and helped me to release forgiveness to the boys who bullied me.”

Nine-year-old Seyha was raised as a Buddhist until he heard the Gospel when a church near his home showed CBN’s Superbook. After watching an episode about David and Goliath, Seyha asked Jesus into his heart. “After I believed in Jesus, I was so happy. It wasn’t long before Kiran’s mother also gave her life to Christ. “Kiran used to come home and tell me about the Superbook stories, her prayers, and what Jesus Christ spoke to her,” said her mother. “I slowly started understanding the love of God.”

Eleven-year-old Ester was often mocked and bullied by her classmates at school. “I remember boys usually called me ugly names and called me ‘ugly girl,’” she said. Then, a teacher invited Ester to an after-school program supported by CBN’s Orphan’s Promise. There, she saw a Superbook episode about Job. Ester said, “I prayed to God saying, ‘God, thank You for Job’s story that I watched on Superbook. I want to forgive the boys who bullied me.’”

“I prayed to God to give me love, blessing, and His mercy,” said Kiran. “His love changed my life and gave me a new hope and inspiration to live a good life.”

What started as an outreach to children in Japan has been used by God in ways we never imagined. It is transforming the lives of children around the world as well as their families.

For exercise, Teitelbaum says to start by walking and see how much you can do without becoming fatigued. Then, slowly increase your steps using a pedometer.

Paul said it will not come upon you unawares. We, as believers, are expecting for we know the Scriptures. But the world does not, and like the days of Noah, they’ll be having all kinds of celebrations, like weddings and parties. Then, like the flood, the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly.

The Bible says Jesus is coming back like a thief in the night. But it also states that when He returns, the world will see Him descending from heaven. Please explain the differences.

The McGuffey Readers were the most popular books of all time in the mid-1800s and early 1900s, selling millions of copies. They were the standard for education—a profoundly Christian series of readers for children. Yet, over the years, there has been a gradual erosion of these values. Education is no longer viewed as something to build up good American citizens who will live in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

It was a goal in American history that this country would be a city set on a hill, as Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 ;“ You are the light of the world.
