The God Who
Heals All Wounds When she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Corazon Velasco had to shell out millions of pesos to cover her medical needs. Because of this, her family struggled, and they contemplated on selling her dental clinic. Worse, the distress of her condition wounded her relationship with her husband. While in this dire situation, Corazon chanced upon The 700 Club Asia. “I felt relieved when I joined the hosts for a prayer. My desire then was for God to heal me because my children were still young, and I want to live for them.” Combining her prayers with obedience and generosity, Corazon was also moved to give to the ministries of CBN Asia. She never thought that God would surprise her with more than what she asked for. Financial support outpoured from her friends, in turn covering all her medical bills. She didn’t have to sell her clinic anymore and God even blessed her with two more branches. Her marriage was also healed. On top of that, she received the answer to her prayer when she was declared cancer-free! More than just surviving cancer and restoring her family, Corazon thrived in her relationship with the Lord. “God is so good in answering my prayers! He used The 700 Club Asia to heal me and make me whole again,” she ended. 3

More and more kids have experienced the love of Jesus as their favorite character Gizmo and the Superbook team flew to Guam for the first time last June! Warm smiles from the country’s future generation welcomed the team for a meet and greet at Superbook Superstar in Life in the Son Christian Fellowship church. It was a jam-packed afternoon as the team brought exciting activities and interactive games for everyone. Together with the kids, they revisited the story of David and how he conquered Goliath in A Giant Adventure. Gizmo also joined them in singing and dancing their hearts out along The Salvation Poem. With hearts moved, they prayed, accepted, and declared Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior. From overseas back to your home television, Gizmo’s adventures are unstoppable! You can now once again enjoy watching action-packed and lesson-filled Superbook: Reimagined Season 4 episodes as it is back on its timeslot every Sunday, 9:15 AM on ABS-CBN. “Letting our children watch Superbook is a fun way to help instill Christian values in them at a young age,” said mommy blogger Gwen Llana-Serrano. To invite more children and parents to bring Bible stories closer to the next generation, Gizmo also graced the set of Umagang Kay Ganda, It’s Showtime!, and bonded with media influencers during its first ever Superbook Media Conference last July.

a Life of Generosity In 2000, Carol Hembra went through the pain of surgery for her intestines. One day, she chanced upon The 700 Club Asia and called the CBN Asia Prayer Center to ask for prayer for healing. Not only was she prayed for, but she was also offered assistance for her post-operative medicines by Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm. In response to God’s kindness and healing, Carol answered the call to missions and enrolled at CBN Asia’s missionary training arm, the Asian Center for Missions. She has since gone to Laos, Vietnam, Africa, and China. As a missionary, her heart particularly went out to orphans. Years after, Carol was also able to put up a business when some people from the last country she visited blessed her with a financial gift. She decided to give back to the orphans through CBN Asia once again. “God never fails to amaze. When you help others, He will also bless you with plenty, abundantly!” she said. 5
CBN Asia Celebrates 25 Years of
From its humble beginnings in 1994, CBN Asia has become a multifaceted evangelistic ministry through media, prayer and biblical counseling, humanitarian assistance and missionary training empowered by God’s mandate to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ to the Philippines, Asia, and the world. CBN Asia was founded by Gordon Robertson in Makati City, Philippines on September 30, 1994. The organization’s flagship TV program The 700 Club Asia, the first indigenous version of The 700 Club of the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), began airing in June 1995. Carrying out the God-given vision of boatloads of Filipinos being sent to bring the Good News to different nations, CBN Asia launched the “India Missions Program” in January 1995. After six months, the Asian Center for Missions (ACM), now CBN Asia’s missionary training arm, was officially established to train missionaries who will spread God’s love to the least reached people groups of the world. In May 1995, CBN Asia partnered with Operation Blessing International in a joint medical mission to help patients in marginalized communities in different parts of the country. A year later, on May 9, 1996, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines (OB), CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, was incorporated. From the initial medical missions and feeding programs, OB has grown into a full-blown humanitarian organization with programs involving disaster response, children, healthcare, livelihood, water and sanitation.

In February 1998, CBN founding chairman and The 700 Club host Pat Robertson dedicated CBN Asia’s newly acquired space for the construction of a studio in Makati and prayed, “Let the Gospel spread from here to all of Asia.” On March 24, 1999, The 700 Club Asia had its inaugural live broadcast, making it the first CBN program that aired live outside the borders of the United States. Eight months later, CBN Asia aired its first telethon entitled “Miracles Happen.”
God’s Goodness and Faithfulness
To reach out to the younger generation, CBN Asia also produced a youth-oriented show named One Cubed in 2001 and a kids program, A.S.T.I.G. (All Set to Imitate God) in 2005. While the animated Bible program for children Superbook first aired in the Philippines in the 80s, CBN Asia also brought its newer and 3D version, Superbook Reimagined, to the country in 2013. The latest addition to its childfriendly programs is Oyayi which was produced in partnership with the National Council for Children’s Television. CBN Asia also established the 24-hour 700 Club Counseling Center, now called the CBN Asia Prayer Center, to pray and give biblical counsel to its television viewers. Since then, the Prayer Center has expanded to mobile, toll-free, and online services, such as chat, social media, Skype, and Viber, to accommodate more people abroad and share with them the Good News of Jesus. Satellite prayer centers in Cebu, General Santos, and Davao City were also established, mainly to cater to the Visayan-speaking segment of the population.CBN Asia has also produced special made-for-TV films under the Tanikala brand every Holy Week since 2009. At present, CBN Asia continues to expand its reach and maximize various media platforms through new online campaigns and shows produced to share the love of God. “I Can BreakThrough” (ICBT) is its latest digital evangelism campaign launched in 2018, which aims to reach out to Filipino millennials through online shows like BreakTambayan and BreakThrough the Lens. The 700 Club Asia also recently presented its new online show titled Beyond Small Talk which aims to address the most pressing concerns and frequently asked questions about marriage and relationships, women empowerment, financial management, mental health, and other life issues and struggles. In the coming years, CBN Asia will continue to move forward in its mandate to proclaim Christ and transform lives until the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14). 7
Power of
Prayer and Perseverance Because of poverty, Marjorie almost lost all hope of fulfilling her dream of finishing her studies. After losing their father, her mother Marivic had to work doubly hard and juggle two jobs washing other people’s clothes and selling products but it was not enough to send Marjorie to school. Despite the seeming impossibility, help came when CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines (OB), supported Marjorie’s schooling until she graduated from high school through OB’s Back-ToSchool program. Marjorie also pursued BS Education, Major in Filipino, at a private school in Quezon City, after being chosen as OB’s beneficiary for the second time. “Through the help of Operation Blessing and our pastor, I came to know God. I was given a new hope and a new family in our church. My relationship with God deepened and prayers eased my burdens,” she gladly shared. The dream Marjorie once had became a reality. Last May 3, she graduated from college and even received multiple awards. Now, Marjorie and her family are serving the Lord at a local church. Truly, God honors the prayers and perseverance of people and He rewards in His perfect time. 8
Once Broken, Now Healed “They would make fun of me because of my crooked foot. I would always cry whenever they did that,” Jess Malaur lamented. Jess was born with a birth defect called clubfoot. Growing up, he had to face the constant mockery of his schoolmates in Talisayan, Misamis Oriental. Jess had to stop going to school because he could no longer bear the pain of being bullied. His mother, Susan, was the only person left to take care of him. She shared as her eyes brimmed with tears, “It pains me when people make fun of him. That’s why I want him to undergo surgery.” But as a single parent who earns only 200 pesos a day, Jess’ mother could only pray for a miracle and God did not disappoint her. The humanitarian arm of CBN Asia, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, learned about Jess’ condition and sent him from Misamis Oriental to Davao City for surgery in partnership with Tebow Cure Hospital. “I am happy that my surgery became possible. Thank you very much, Operation Blessing! God indeed used you to help me!” Jess expressed. With his clubfoot successfully corrected, Jess can now walk normally for the very first time. He can now brave through life carrying his testimony of God’s intervention, provision and healing. 9

to Serve
Because she was rejected and abandoned by her partner, Ellen de Leon once contemplated on killing herself. She found out that her partner was having an affair in Baguio City while she was sacrificially taking care of her newborn child in Manila. Lost and with nowhere to go to, she decided to move back to her parents’ home. A few months later and still deep in pain, Ellen decided to put an end to her agony and take her life, but she survived the suicide attempt. “When I woke up, I saw my baby and wept. I realized that I don’t need to kill myself. She’s the reason why I continued on with life,” she narrated. Ellen started anew and worked hard as a seamstress in Baguio City to support her child, but another unexpected tragedy happened. A strong earthquake hit their community, which put her life in danger. A few weeks later, a friend shared the gospel to her and asked her the question that turned her life around forever: “Do you know where you’re going if you happen to die in the earthquake?” Startled by the question, it led her to seek answers and accept her friend’s invitation to come with her to church. There, she found The Answer. “This (relationship with Jesus) is what I’ve been longing and searching for the longest time. Jesus has given me the peace and strength that I’ve never experienced before.”

Not only was she healed from past hurts, Ellen also received a special calling from God. She is now a missionary in Thailand with the help of CBN Asia’s missionary training arm, the Asian Center for Missions.
