All parents/guardians are invited to Back to School Night on Monday, August 25 The evening starts with hospitality on the main lawn at 5:00 p.m. At 5:30 p.m. All parents are encouraged to attend a short prayer service and comments from the President and Principal in the Ron Limeberger ’53 Gymnasium. Starting at 6:00 p.m., the first class (A set) will begin in the assigned classroom. All classes will follow for 10 minutes each, with a 5-minute passing period between classes The evening is over at 7:40 pm. Your student’s schedule will be sent to you on the morning of Monday, August 25, so it will be near the top of your email. Parking can be challenging so we encourage you to come early and enjoy the hospitality See you all on Monday!
Fall Picture Day | Monday, August 25: All Students MUST wear a CB polo shirt for the photograph. Viewing and ordering will be approximately one week AFTER picture day You will receive a notification via email and text once the galleries are ready. Parents will receive a link via email and text once images are available online. There will be a 72-hour window of free shipping starting once the images are available online FOR ORDERS PURCHASED: We will mail orders directly to the address input when ordering. Order Questions? CB FROSH/SOPH DANCE | Friday, August 29 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.: The dance theme is Night in the Bayou Think casual and comfortable with a touch of Cajun flair-denim, sunglasses, boots, and fun accessories welcome. No fancy dresses or suits needed, just come ready to relax and enjoy the bayou vibes! Please follow the open dance dress code which will be included with your ticket and listed on page 50 of the Family/Student Handbook. DJ High-top will be in Koppes Plaza playing the favorites. For student safety, closed-toed shoes are highly encouraged! Kona Ice truck will be available serving all the flavors so bring a few dollars for a cool refreshment School ID REQUIRED at Dance entry which closes at 8:00 p.m. Doors open for departure at 9 p.m. The cost is $12+$1 fee. College Night for Seniors and their families is this Thursday, August 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the Theater Seniors and their families are encouraged to attend as we go over application procedures, admissions statistics, and important college information for the fall of senior year
Counseling Department
Seniors wishing to take the SAT at CB on Monday, October 20 (Testing Day) must register here by September 22
Senior drop-in college Application Workshops will be every Thursday morning at 8am and during Falcon Flex in Room 103
SAT and PSAT Prep Boot Camp at CB on Sat 10/4 and 10/11 from 9am-1pm. Register at this link
CSF (California Scholarship Federation) application forms are now available in the Counseling Center for juniors and seniors to report last semester’s grades. Remember, this must be completed each semester. Forms are due to Ms. McClellan on Friday, August 29th at 3pm. No late submissions will be accepted
Parking Permits: Parking permits are required to park on campus and are only issued to students with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance Because of limited space, parking permits are limited to one per household. Parking Permits are available to purchase online. Students can go to the front o ce to pick up their permit, with proof of purchase, on or after August 8. If students are caught parking on campus without a Parking Permit, they will be issued a parking violation For questions regarding parking permits, contact Kelly Harrington at 916-733-3625.
Lockers: Each student is assigned a locker number which is stored in PowerSchool Students who plan to use their locker must purchase a school-issued lock sold at the student store. Be sure to use your assigned locker! Items place in the wrong locker will be removed and brought to the Dean’s o ce.

New for the 2025-2026 School Year! The Falcon Friday Dress Privilege, which is earned weekly by each grade level, includes wearing any CB top (t-shirt, polo shirt, sweatshirt, etc.) and modified dress bottoms such as jeans, sweats, gym shorts, etc Modified dress bottoms do NOT include short shorts, leggings, skirts, or any pants with holes, rips, tears, etc. Each grade level earns the Falcon Friday Dress privilege when it has at least 90% dress code compliance The first possible Falcon Friday Dress is August 29 based on dress code compliance from Aug 13 to Aug 22. After that, the Falcon Friday dress will be based on compliance for the previous week (i.e. compliance Aug 25-28 results in the privilege on September 5) Notification of the privilege will be posted on Schoology by the Dean's O ce
Fare-Free transit for youth. Students can ride into the new school year for FREE with RydeFreeRT. Youth can ride the entire SacRT transit network, including SacRT buses, light rail and SmaRT Ride ondemand microtransit services for FREE. Cards are available in the front o ce.

Club Leadership Meeting on Thursday! All students interested in leading a student club this year are invited to a club leadership meeting on Thursday during Falcon Flex! All returning club leaders, along with anyone interested in starting a new club, are invited to join in the Theater during Falcon Flex to learn more about how clubs will run this year We will discuss club meeting times, the process for starting a club, renewing a club, and requirements for maintaining a club. Literacy Training for Oak Ridge Tutoring: Any student interested in helping tutor younger students next door at Oak Ridge Elementary this year are invited to get involved in a new mentorship and tutoring program that is starting this year Freshmen through seniors are invited to attend and take part in this meaningful volunteer work! Still Accepting S.A.L.T. Applications: The Social Action Leadership Team (S A L T ) is the group on campus responsible for planning and executing service events, donation drives, and supporting our Twin School in Ethiopia. We are looking for students with an interest in social justice and community service to join this club All students interested in participating on the Social Action Leadership Team this year should click here to apply for S.A.L.T.

S.A.L.T. Sponsored Donation Drives – Now Collecting PB&J for Unhoused Students
In partnership with Growing Past Today, S.A.L.T. is hosting a PB&J drive the month of August and September Students and families are invited to donate peanut butter and jelly to be distributed to unhoused students and their families from Oak Ridge Elementary. Donations can be dropped o in the LSLO (be sure to place in the Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior bucket the class with the most donations will win a prize!) Brands that are in plastic jars and do not require refrigeration are preferred, and alternative butters such as almond or sunflower are welcome alternatives for those with nut allergies! Check in with Ms. Hanshew in the LSLO with any questions.

Clothes Closet: Open on Fridays during the student lunch period; on Aug 28; Sept 11, 25; Oct 2, 16, 30; Nov. 13; and Dec. 4. The Clothes Closet has been a huge success for students looking for dress code apparel All items are gently used and at no cost Due to the popularity of the lunchtime openings, the closet is very low on inventory especially CBHS polos and college sweatshirts.
