As we celebrated our60th Reunion, we recognizeoneofthesport’smostrecognizable champions -- “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair as the recipient of the prestigious 2026 Iron Mike Mazurki Award, celebrating a lifetime of acheivement in and beyond the ring.

As the highest honor bestowed by the CAC, this award recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions and left a lasting impact on the professional wrestling industry. In terms, of this year’s honoree, there can be little doubt that his legacy will stand among the greatest in history.

For over ﬁve decades, Ric Flair’s career has deﬁned generations and set the gold standard for main-event excellence. A 16-time World Heavyweight Champion, Flair achieved unparalleled championship success across the NWA, WCW, and WWE, proving his elitestatusineveryterritoryandpromotion he entered.

His timeless, Broadway-length encounters against icons like Dusty Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, Harley Race, and HulkHoganhelpedshapetheverydeﬁnition of a world champion, combining unmatched athletic endurance with storytelling masterclasses.

Beyond his in-ring work, Flair rede-

fined sports entertainment through his character. Draped in custom, sequined robes and projecting an aura of limousine-riding, jet-flying confidence, his larger-than-life persona captivated millions. His iconic “Wooo!” catchphrase has transcended wrestling to become anabsolutestapleofglobalpopculture.

As the masterful leader of the Four Horsemen, Flair also established the template for modern wrestling stables. He holds the distinct honor of being a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, inducted

both as an individual and as a member of his legendary faction.

The Iron Mike Mazurki Award, named after the esteemed actor and CAC cofounder, honors those who embody the heart, toughness, and longevity of the business. But the award does not just recognize achievement between the ropes -- but also in success beyond the wrestling realm.

“The Nature Boy” has become a hiphop and pop culture inﬂuence -- the subject of the multi-platinum hit “Ric Flair Drip”, he has appeared in amusic videoforBadBunny,andhis1980’spromos have been re-sampled by Kanye West, Killer Mike, Pusha T and Meek Mill. Rapper Snoop Dogg has pointed to Flair’s lavish, braggadocious lifestyle as a blueprint for hip-hop swagger.

The Cauliﬂower Alley Club is proud to celebrate one of the most physically imposing, trailblazing, and charismatic athletes to ever step through the ropes: the legendary Tony Atlas. Known globally as “Mr. USA,” Atlas carved out a historic career that spanned multiple decades, shattered racial barriers, and left an indelible mark on the landscape of professional wrestling.

Long before he captivated wrestling fans, Tony Atlas was a powerhouse in the world of bodybuilding and powerlifting. A multi-time Mr. USA winner, his jaw-dropping physique and legitimate, world-class strength earned him instant respect upon entering the squared circle in the mid-1970s. Working across prominent territories like the NWA, Georgia Championship Wrestling, and Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling, Atlas quickly established himself as a premier main-event attraction. His legendary encounters against top-tier villains like Harley Race, Ken Patera, and BruiserBrodyshowcasedararecombination of pure power and athletic agility that mesmerized crowds.

However, it was his historic run in the WWEinthe1980’sthatforevercemented his name in the history books. In 1983, Atlas teamed up with the equally

spectacularRockyJohnsontoformThe Soul Patrol. The dynamic duo engaged in a fierce, high-profile rivalry with the Wild Samoans. On November 15, 1983, Atlas and Johnson made history by defeating the Samoans to capture the WWF World Tag Team Championship.Withthismonumentalvictory,they became the first Black tag team champions in the history of the company—a milestoneachievementthatbrokebarriersandinspiredgenerations ofminority athletes to follow in their footsteps.

Atlas’s career was deﬁned not just by his championship success, but by his incredible longevity and adaptability. In the early 1990s, he returned to the WWF under the colorful, high-energy persona of Saba Simba,introducinghis powerhouse style to a completely new generation of fans. Decades later, he proved his timeless appeal by returning to WWE television as the charismatic managerforMarkHenryduringHenry’s dominant ECW Championship run, followed by amemorable stintonthereality program Legends’ House. In recognition of his monumental contributions to the industry, Atlas was deservedly inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2006.

Nearly Average Wrestling (NAW) is a no-holds-barred comedy-meets-wrestling showcase where anyone can step into the spotlight, or just spectate, and trytoearnaspotontheNearlyAverage Wrestling roster.

It’s like if The Voice got bodyslammed by Pee-wee’s Playhouse. Contestants get 60 seconds to cut a promo, show oﬀ a character, or do whatever it takes to prove they belong, and with surprise guests from WWE, AEW, and beyond, you never know who will show up or what willhappen.

What began as a live in-person experience has now grown into both a touring live show and a weekly Twitch broadcast, giving people the chance to jump into the madness from anywhere. Whether it’s happening in a comedy venue, a club, or live online, the spirit is the same: big characters, bigger

swings, and a room full of people chasing a wrestling “contract” through pure charisma, chaos, and commitment.

The show has already built real momentum, with appearances at Netﬂix Is AJokeandcoveragefromNPRandthe Los Angeles Times. Past guests and judges have included names like Tommy Dreamer, Taran Killam, Lio Rush, D’Lo Brown, and Ron Funches, helping makeNAWorNEVERoneoftheweirdest, most unpredictable, and most joyfully unhinged experiences in wrestling and comedy.

Theconceptisrefreshinglysimple.Participants are challenged to create an original wrestling persona and deliver a one-minutepromoinfrontofjudgesand a live crowd. In just sixty seconds, they must establish a character, tell a story, and leave a lasting impression—much like the television segments that helped

The Cauliﬂower Alley Club is proud to celebrate one of the most brilliant minds, ﬁercely dedicated trainers, and colorful personalities in the history of the squared circle: the legendary “The Hustler” Rip Rogers.

While fans fondly remember him as a masterpsychologicalheelacrossprominentterritoriesliketheNWA,Continental Wrestling, and Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), Rogers’s true crowning achievement is his unparalleled legacy asaworld-classmentor.Hestandsasa mastercraftsmanwhotookrawathletes and sculpted them into the deﬁning superstars of the modern wrestling era.

Long before he stepped behind the scenes as a coach, Rip Rogers was an exceptional in-ring technician. Teaming withthelikesofTedOatesinHollywood or competing in grueling singles contests, Rogers understood the nuanced nuances of crowd manipulation, pacing,andold-schoolheat.Hepossessed an innate, analytical understanding of wrestling psychology—knowing exactly why a move mattered rather than just how to execute it.This deep intellectual grasp of the business made his eventual transition into a full-time trainer not just successful, but revolutionary.

When Ohio Valley Wrestling became the oﬃcial developmental territory for

the WWE in the early 2000s, Rogers was handed the keys to the future. As the head trainer, he became the architect of the most legendary developmental class in wrestling history. Under his strict, no-nonsense tutelage, icons like John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and Batista learned the fundamental rules of storytelling and match structure. Rogers stripped away ﬂashy theatrics to focus heavily on the basics:

footwork, facial expressions, selling, and respecting the crowd.

Rogers’training philosophy is famously definedbyhisdirect,unfilteredhonesty. He became an internet sensation and a beloved locker room guru for his sharp, viralcritiquesofcontemporarywrestling choreography, constantly urging talent to protect the illusion of conflict. Yet, beneath his gruff exterior lies a mentor deeply devoted to the well-being of his students. He didn’t just teach wrestlers how to work in the ring; he taught them how to navigate the complex politics of the locker room, how to manage their money, and how to survive the grueling mental demands of a life onthe road.

Today, his massive family tree of students spans across every major global promotion, including WWE, AEW, and Impact Wrestling. Countless superstars openly attribute their main-event longevity directly to the foundational lessons they received on the mats under Rip’s watchfuleye.

The CAC is pleased to recognize Rip for his contributions to the present and future of the sport with the 2026 Ron HutchisonTrainer’sAward.

As the CauliﬂowerAlley Club promotes outstanding contributors at every level of the pro wrestling industry, one of its most celebrated accolades is the James MelbyAward which honours the craft of wrestling writing. This year’s honouree is the respected author and journalist Dan Murphy, whose work has encompassed a varied body of work in a career spanning nearly 30 years.

Murphy was initially a fan who got hooked on pro wrestling at age 10, during the Rock ‘n’ Wrestling Connection era as the World Wrestling Federation was heading towards an ambitious nationalexpansion.AsDan’sfandomgrew during the 1980s boom, he started to consume all the territorial pro wrestling contentthathecould,includingthatproduced by Jim Crockett Promotions, the AWA, and his personal favourite, World Class Championship Wrestling. While he remained an avid fan throughout his younger years, Murphy also fostered a passion for the written word, leading to his interest in journalism.

“I graduated from Canisius College in Buﬀalo with a BA in English in 1996. After graduation, I landed an entry-level job as a sports reporter for a small weeklynewspapergroup.WhenIheard that the UFC was looking to hold in an eventnearbyinNiagaraFalls,NY–and that the state legislators were going to

require the ﬁghters to wear headgear and gloves – I dug out a copy of Pro Wrestling Illustrated and found the editorial oﬃce phone number in the masthead. I called Stu Saks and pitched a feature on the event for PWI.”

While the UFC event would end up being moved at the last minute, the upstart journalist had succeeded in making a connection with the PWI staff and Murphy was soon invited to provide samples of his work. After impressing theeditorialteamwithhisinitialsubmissions, Murphy’s first article was an introductoryspotlightonWCWnewcomer Prince Iaukea, and he joined the writing staff in 1997. His consistent output led to a position with the long-running magazinewhichwouldlastfor22years.

“When I started with PWI, Brandi MankiewiczgavemeadvicethatIreally tooktoheart.Shesaid,“Nevertrytoput yourself over. Put over the workers and the storylines.” That’s something I have triedtodoinmymagazineworkandmy books… I respect the craft of wrestling, andItrytokeepthatcentraltothewayI approach my wrestling writing.”

It was this respect that led Murphy to explore roles within the industry, working from 2002 with the New York-based promotion Empire State Wrestling as a booker, and even participated in some

matches under a mask. It was an invaluable experience which Dan believes made him a better writer.

While Murphy will admit that there are aspects of the current pro wrestling product that doesnot alignwithhisown tastes,heremainspassionateabouthis craft, particularly as it pertains to historical writing. Dan’s magazine assignments partly ignited a passion on this facet, through his regular “Supercards and Superbouts” dissections of classic events and matches, while his “Whatever Happened To…” column allowed Murphy to give updates on retired ring veterans.

Since stepping away from PWI in 2019, Dan has authored and collaborated on several acclaimed wrestling books whichhavefocusedontherichheritage oftheindustry.Hisﬁrstwas“Bodyslams in Buﬀalo: The Complete History of Pro Wrestling in WNY” in 2002. It was a follow-uptoanothersuccessfulregional history book that Murphy authored on the Erie Canal for the same publisher. ApartnershipwithPatLapradeenabled a deep dive on female contributions to the art form of grappling, with their celebrated2017release“Sisterhoodofthe SquaredCircle:TheHistoryandRiseof Women’s Wrestling”. It was followed by “The Wrestlers’ Wrestlers: The Masters of the Craft of Professional Wrestling” with Brian Young in 2021 and “Ed Don George: The Remarkable Life of an Olympian ad Pro Wrestling Champion” in 2025.

Being named the winner of this year’s Melby award is special to Dan, mainly due to his love for the CauliﬂowerAlley Clubsincehisﬁrstvisitin2010, andthe Ring of Friendship promoted by the organisation.

“Receivingthe Melby awardisan absolutehonourbecauseIhavesomuchrespect for James Melby and many of the previous winners of this award. Wrestling writers generally don’t get much recognition, and I am humbled and grateful to receive the same award as someoftheabsolutegiantsintheﬁeld.”

The Cauliﬂower Alley Club has always celebrated the people who have made professionalwrestlingspecial,andthisyear’s60th Anniversary Reunion is proud to welcome one of the industry’s most talented artists, A.J. Moore, to the Hospitality Room.

Known for his stunning wrestling-inspired artwork, A.J. has earned a reputation for capturing the passion, personality, and legacy of professional wrestling’s greatest legends. His detailed paintings and illustrations have become favorites among fans and collectors, preserving the moments and icons that have shaped the business for generations.

To commemorate this historic milestone, A.J. has created an exclusive 60th Anniversary Cauliﬂower Alley Club artwork that will debut during the reunion. Designed speciﬁcally for this event, this commemorative piece celebrates six decades of the

Cauliﬂower Alley Club’s mission to honor wrestling’s past while supporting its future. Available only at the reunion, this limitededition artwork (featuring only 60 copies) is sure to become a cherished keepsake for collectors and attendeesalike.

Through unprecedented access and candid interviews with legendary wrestlers, referees, managers, and industry insiders, BeyondKayfabetellsthestoryofanorganization founded on compassion rather than competition.
