Wright Cattle Co. Bull Sale 2026 - DLMS Farmgate Timed Auction

Page 1

2026 looks to be a year with outstanding optimism in the cattle industry! As I reflect on the last 12 months, it is gratifying to see the enthusiasm and renewed life in the cattle business. Kirsten, Hayes & myself would like to personally welcome you to the ranch anytime. An opportunity to tour the bulls and view our program, allowing you to invest into your bull battery with the utmost confidence.

Our breeding philosophy remains the same – stout, sound, productive, good cattle, who add value to our customer’s bottom line. We continue to cultivate our cowherd to be one of fertile, good-uddered, low-maintenance cows. With the heavy use of AI, we continue to advance our genetics at WCC – this past November, I was fortunate enough to complete my Embryo Thawing & Implanting Course at Murder Creek Cattle Company in Alabama. We look forward to an increased use of ET in our 2026 breeding season.

2025 saw a relatively heavy heifer to bull ratio at calving, coupled with strict culling, we are offering only the best through the 2026 Bull Sale. The 2026 sale group has been developed to reach their genetic potential in a manner where longevity hasn’t been compromised. The bulls, once again, whether its black or red hided cattle you are after, are uniform and have muscle, growth, and performance we feel the industry needs.

Sincerely,

If you have any questions around the sale offering, please do not hesitate to reach out. We also have an incredible group of sales consultants who are happy to discuss the bulls or offer a third-party opinion to you. The sale opens on DLMS Farm Gate Timed Auctions on Sunday, March 8th and will close Monday, March 9th – please plan to join us at the Rapid View Hall on March 9th for supper and hospitality.

Cattle are available for viewing at the ranch anytime, please feel free to stop by, coffee is always on.

The WCC Program

BREEDING/GENETICS

Our cowherd utilizes Arti cial insemination heavily; this allows us to be able to invest into fresh and current genetics at a more rapid pace. We strongly believe in our cow herd fertility, as we run a tight breeding window. We AI as many of the cows and heifers on their rst natural heat and our cleanup bulls follow in a short breeding window. Embryo Transplant is another tool we incorporate into our program for genetic advancement. We utilize our own donor cows and purchased embryos to maintain a current, unrelated, genetic base for our customers.

BULL NUTRITION & DEVELOPMENT

Cow herd and Bull nutrition are closely monitored throughout the year. e bulls receive free choice hammer milled oats and protein supplement mid-august in preparation for weaning. ey are then transitioned to the same ration along with grass hay, free choice salt, and mineral. e cowherd grazes until late October on tame and native pasture. Upon returning to the ranch in the fall, the cows graze hay regrowth or millet/ryegrass swathes till mid-November. e next transition for the cows is where they start eating on a forage-based tub ground pile prior and post calving. Bulls actual weaning weights were taken October 4th - 5th, 2025.
