CONSIGNOR’S INDEX

PREMIUM ITEMS

Lot # Consigned by Item

50 Dwight Beard

Cowboy Saddle – Handmade in Medicine Hat, Alberta, by a gentleman who named his company “Leather Spot”. It’s on a bullhide covered tree and is built with a double layer of oil tanned latigo leather, hence the burgundy colour. Latigo wears the best and doesn’t soak up water like saddle skirting does. It comes with both cinches, hoofpick and holder, pliers holster, and lariat. A brand new saddle blanket, also. It’s one of the most comfortable saddles I’ve ridden! At one time in the 90s my family members owned five Leather Spot saddles. Two were lost in a barn fire, two were sold, and this one was my mom’s.

51 Ken McLennan

Justin Sleigh – Well maintained and lightly used four passenger sleigh. Fold down top and removable wheels for storage

52 Jim Scott Runabout Buggy - Shafts included. Restored to original except wheels have rubber rather than steel. Not used since restoration. Always stored inside and covered. Family original owner.

53 Pat Lawrence 4-Up Show Harness - A set of 4-up show harness in boxes. 26″ collars, including scotch tops and matching bridles. No bits or lines. Excellent condition.

54 Brenda Werk Parade Wagon - Show/parade wagon lovingly handcrafted by late Percheron horse enthusiasts, Art and Marjorie Jones.

This wagon has been stored inside or undercover its entire lifetime, so has not been exposed to weather elements.

The only reason for selling is that no one in the family has continued in the industry and storage has become an issue.

This wagon was built on an antique milk wagon chassis, and although it currently has rubber tires with bearings, we believe it could be swapped out for wooden wagon wheels. The wagon has only been used a handful of times, and does come with the tongue.

55 David Bailey

56 Buddy Bensmiller

Forecart – Made in Quebec and of high quality materials, padded seat, 14 foot steel tongue and hydraulic brakes. Mint condition.

Weekend Getaway Wagon –Always stored inside and ready to go. Hand brake and leaf and coil springs. Box measurements are 6’8″ wide and 12’2″ long. Tires are good. Pulls light. Under storage on both sides with coil tethers for horses included. Fridge has solar power battery hookup and runs off propane, working at time of storage 4 years ago. Solar panel on front driver’ side. Steel pole with eveners included. Tarp rolls up and has clear vinyl for viewing on all doors. Back and front bench seats make down into beds. Cushions in great shape. Back carriers for water jug and propane bottle, water jug included. Propane bottle not included. Plastic storage containers included.

57 Murray & Bev Jans

Democrat - William Gray & Sons Co. Ltd., Chatham, Ontario. 4 seater, comes with shafts for single horse. Has been stored in a shed. Good condition.

58 David Bailey

Breaking Sleigh - Built in Ontario by Arnold Rife. Wooden tongue and steel runners make it ideal for training or exercising young horses.

59 David Bailey Doctor’s Buggy - Buggy has been updated with new material on the seat, painted and rubber replaced on the four wheels. Brass hub has a “D” on it but don’t know if that was the manufacturer’s name? Comes with black shafts that have an extension on them for larger horses.

60 Ken Pohl

Flat Deck Sleigh - Nice running gear built from all new material of white ash and new steel. Used very little. In excellent shape. Bus seat for the comfort of the driver.

The runners are 42.5″ apart and are 2-1/4″ wide. The deck is 6′ wide and 11’6″ long. The pole is 9’6″ from pin to yoke rest.

Bird in Hand Carriage - Amish made, lightly used and in excellent condition. Hydraulic brakes, suspension adjustable metal pole with eveners, wood shaves, lights, interchangeable rear seating and step vs. storage box. Also comes with interchangeable brass or chrome accessories. Weight is approximately 300 pounds and is suitable for medium pony to large draft horses.
