We are extremely fortunate to work with some great people in this industry. There are not enough words to describe how much we appreciate our customers and the trust they have put in our program. The majority of our bulls sell to repeat customers every year. If you are seeing our program for the first time, feel free to reach out and visit with us; we would like to get to know you and earn your business.

The past several years have not been ideal in terms of moisture, but our cow herd continues to pull through. If there is a silver lining, it is that we have culled harder than ever, which has improved our genetic base. We had an extremely dry spring, which lowered our gains on pasture and weaning weights. The bulls did not receive creep feed during this time. We have continued to develop the bulls slowly and have not been willing to risk longevity to post inflated numbers.

The sale offering has more calving-ease options than ever, which have been in high demand. We also have a great lineup of what we call our “maternal power bulls,” including many ET sons of our best cows. These bulls are ideal for producing replacement females, which are sure to be in high demand.

Customer Service Program

TERMS: Our terms are 50 percent due sale day and a post-dated cheque for the balance dated May 31, 2026. Please ask us if you require additional terms, we are willing to work with our customers.

VOLUME DISCOUNT: Purchase three or more bulls and receive a 3 percent discount, five or more bulls receive a 5 percent discount.

DELIVERY: Bulls will be delivered as soon as possible following the sale. They may stay on the farm until delivery can be made or you pick up your purchase. For US purchases we will complete necessary health papers and cover delivery to the border. We will also do our best to help with further trucking arrangements.

WINTERING: We are willing to winter all sale bulls free of charge until delivery or pick-up. All bulls staying on the farm MUST be insured for full mortality.

INSURANCE: Larry Toner Agencies will be available for your insurance needs on sale day. Remember all bulls staying on the farm must be insured for full mortality.

COMMON SENSE BREEDING GUARANTEE: All bulls will be semen tested and vet inspected. We fully guarantee all bulls sold 100 percent to be breeders. We do not cover injuries, but are willing to provide a bull while your bull heals. In the event of a problem, we guarantee to provide you with a quality bull to get your cows bred. We understand that when your livelihood depends on your cow herd’s production you need service and not hassles.

Charlie’s dam is one of the most productive females in the SSS herd and we expect that production level will be passed on to his daughters.

There was a lot of chatter throughout the industry about the Slowburn progeny, and we chose to use through AI what we felt was his best son. Metric progeny are sound footed, and we used utilized him on some of our best females.

Hollywood is the $400,000 record selling Red Angus bull in the US. We purchased a semen package to incorporate his huge curve bending growth curve and carcass quality. Very limited semen made it to Canada so not many progeny will ever be for sale.

Convoy is the result of an embryo we sold to Bar Double MM and after seeing him we decided to buy him back to use in our own program. Never before have we bred a bull that we feel represents what we have been trying to achieve over the past 25 years in our breeding program. Knowing how his pedigree is stacked gives us great confidense in how he will reproduce his type and kind. You will not find an Angus bull that packs more natural muscle on to a sensible frame size. He stands on a solid foot, has lots of hair, and we admire his skull shape and masculinity. His dam Annie Oakley has not missed and is one of the most unique cows in the entire breed.

Complete 221 was our selection from the record breaking 2023 Pieper Red Angus bull sale. Complete is a good footed, long made, sure fire calving ease bull with extra style and size. His sire Complete 7000E has proven to be of the most consistent calving ease and maternal sires in the United States with added carcass quality. The first daughters have now calved, and we are impressed with their udder quality and milk flow.

We have debated back and forth about offering Purple Reign, but we have decided that after two breeding seasons, and semen in the tank we can share him. What an opportunity to buy an outcross herd sire that will cover a lot of cows!

We are impressed by the correctness, rib shape and eye appeal of his first calf crop. They have his attractive skull shape and pattern. He is highly fertile, measuring 38cm at 12 months, and freezing semen. He started serving natural service soon after.

His dam, is the most recognized Angus cow in North America BarE-L Erica 74A. His full sister, Black Wheel Erica 153L, is now a donor for ourselves and Sandridge Land & Cattle after being the high seller in our 2024 Female Sale. After seing her calve out last spring we are confident that the females from Purple Reign will have nearly flawless udder quality.

Good Time Charlie has also made his mark across many programs. His progeny are popular for their correct, attractive phenotype and added rib shape. Heterozygous Black.

We have made it our mission to incorporate the best cow families we can find into our program. We identifed Soo Line Rose 1019 as one of the most potent maternal cows in the breed that has been a herd bull factory. Her daugther, Brooking Rose 0083, is her greatest daughter, and has the same massive rib and cow power as her dam. Brooking Emerald has proven himself to be one of the best all around Angus sires of the current day. His consistent ability to sire powerfull progeny with added rib, power, look and foot quality is unmatched. His daughters are considered some of the most beautiful young cows in the breed. We have two flush mate sisters we hope will be foundation cows for our growing black program. Homozygous Black.

We have reached back into the AI tank to use Hard Eight again because he calved easy and left great daughters. Executive 8J adds an extra shot of performance and the Jestress cow famiily is one of the oldest and most productive in our program. Heterozygous Black.

One of the softest made Metric sons in the sale with consistent calving ease in his dams pedigree. His Deuce dam produces moderate BW calves that perform well. Heterozygous Black.

We mated Metric to some of our best cows. Ann 127E is a tanky cow with a nice square foot. She is a maternal sister to Annie Oakley 8B. Ann 106X produced until into her teens. Merit is the type of bull that should last a long time and will only look better and better as he matures.

Very limited semen on Hollywood made it to Canada which makes these flush sons very rare. On paper Hollywood is off the charts for almost every EPD trait, but we utilized him for his elite foot quality, structural integrity, and awesome dam. The flush mate sisters to these bulls are special. They are very complete in their structure and are very balanced, not extreme in any way.

Every once in a while people tell me, “calm down, it’s only a cow” or, “it’s a lot of money for just one cow.” They don’t know the distance traveled, the time invested or the costs involved in “just one cow”.

Some of my proudest moments have been with “just a cow.”

My only company has been “just a cow” and many hours I’ve spent with her, but I’ve never felt offended. Some of my saddest moments have been in the company of a cow, and on those days of darkness, the tender caress of “just a cow” gave me comfort and reasons to face the day.

If you don’t think it’s “just a cow,” then you probably understand phrases like “just a friend,” “just a joy,” or “just a promise.”

“Only a cow” gives my life the sheer essence of friendship, trust and unbridled joy.

“Just a cow” gives me the compassion and patience that makes me a better person. Because for “just a cow”, I’ll get up earlier, be in the paddocks for hours and look nostalgic towards the future. I believe the magic is in the cow, because she is a mother that holds the power to produces a future generation of dam and sire in the cattle industry.

So for some friends and for me, it’s not “just a cow”, but the representation of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the joy of the present.

“Just a Cow” shows me what’s good in me and keeps my bad thoughts and worries away from the day.

I hope one day they can understand that it is not “just a cow”, but what humbles me and prevents me from being “just a human”.

We tried really hard to get a picture of Ken, but he is just too quiet! He is a pretty special bull that combines our two best cows, Annie Oakley and Ginger Barbie, into one pedigree. Ken is dark red, long bodied, good footed and should sire some outstanding females.

Breeding with Intention

Stacking as many great cows as possible into a pedigree creates genetic consistency. That prepotency translates into bulls that breed true to their type, adding quality and uniformity to their progeny. Doubling up on those top cows multiple times adds even more predictability.

Take your pick from these Ginger Barbie sons, they all offer something a little different but she has proven she consistently produces some power in an attractive package. Merit has an added shot of muscle shape and power.

We bought May 52L as the lead off bred heifer in the Ladies of the West sale to add a new cow family. Her dam, May 300Y, is a full sister to maternal legend Red Minburn Copenhagen 3Y. May 52L is going to add some horsepower and performance to her offspring.

Complete 221 has really impressed us as a calving ease sire. Consistent calving ease without sacrificing size, length and pounds in the fall. We can see why Complete 7000E has become one of the most widely used bulls in the United States and we are glad we could bring these new genetics to Canada.

Consistent calving ease all the way through and enough growth for your heifers calves to stand in with your cows calves. Not an easy feat!

The curve bending potental of Complete is obvious. We also have calved his first daughters and they don’t disappoint either. Great udders and milk flow. Lady 102L has a great udder like all our Starks, and Lady 24F is a Hard Eight daughter with a great udder as well. Great-grand-dam Lady 415D entered the ET program last year.

The Complete calves are consistently long and smooth. You can see why we are excited about our Arrow daughters when they can raise calves like this on their first try. Really dependable cow family behind this bull going back to Bridget 1B that just left last fall, and always raised a good one that made the keeper pen.

Typhoon has been one of the best calving ease bulls we have used over the years. His calves are popular because they are born easy, grow well and are dark red. His daughters have proven to be valuable as well. This guy is easy to find in the pen.

Typical Typhoon son, dark red, added muscle shape. Typhoon and Stark produce a similar type and kind so these bulls should breed very consistent. Bridgt 54K is a great uddered young cow, and her dam 87X, was super sound and stayed until she was 14 years old.

When we used Typhoon on cows the BW were slightly higher than they were out of the same cows as heifers. We are confident these bulls will calve easy on heifers and would work to flip onto cows later if you wanted. Auburn 19J is a flush mate to our high selling calving ease bull that sold to Guerney Land & Cattle.

We have been doing our best to offer more calving ease bulls because our customers keep asking for them. Having a high quality walking sire like Hard Knox has made that job easier. We added the Fancy 72C cow family from JJL and they are moderate, tanky cows that produce.

We went back and AI’d to Hard Eight to try to get more daughters in our herd, and ended up with this solid calving ease son. Honestly the bulls never blow you away, but when you see their sisters you will be flat impressed.

Dark red power bull that will cover a lot of cows. We lent him to a customer last year who ended up short on bull power, so he is not a virgin bull. He is the only two-year-old on offer this year, as we sold out of bulls last year. Late in the season, many people had bulls go down and were forced to find replacements at the last minute. It would probably be a good idea to have an extra bull kicking around as an “insurance policy,” because an open cow is a significant expense at these prices. I also expect there might be fewer bulls for sale this year than people think. With high calf prices, there isn’t much incentive to keep extra bulls around when you can sell them in the fall for top dollar.
