a program that invests in it’s future...

welcome

Every year I sit here and write these intros it gives me time to reflect on where we have gone in the past year and where we plan to go in the coming year. To say we feel fortunate to be in the cattle business in these times would be an understatement. We also aren’t going to apologize for the record prices we’re seeing at the sale barns across the country as cattle producers are some of the hardest working people around no doubt. The cattle business is a lot of work and for those of you who have stuck it out through a lot of trying times this is the reward.

While the markets have been great, the weather in our part of the world hasn’t been ideal in the last year, and really in the last 3 years. We weren’t blessed with a lot of rain the last few years, but this year was especially bad. Our corn ran just over 6 ton/acre and our pastures were pushed. While Mother Nature hasn’t always been good to us over the last year we still are very blessed with our 4 healthy kids who keep us running. Marley (11) is busy again with dance, 4-H and recently took up curling. Cash (9) plays hockey and is in his first full year of 4-H where he has a steer and a heifer just like his sister. Jaycee (8) plays hockey, dances, is in clever 4-H and spends her spare time giving me grey hairs and lastly Merit (6) also plays hockey, is in clever 4-H and may very well give me the most grey hairs. All 4 kids now home school and while I will be the first to admit this wasn’t my idea it really is great to have them around so much. They are becoming so handy and thriving at things that truly light them up.

We once again welcome the Wallgren and Partington families to the sale and are happy to have them both! Two progressive programs who have run impressive operations and are great people to deal with and do with business with.

The coming 2 yr old bulls this year stayed on grass until Nov 1 and were not supplemented throughout the summer. We let these bulls develop and grow the way we think they should. We believe these bulls are in breeding shape for their new owners and won’t have to be “melted down” before going to do their jobs this spring or summer. The small number of yearling bulls on offer from us too see no added groceries over the summer other then green grass and their mommas milk. So the weaning weights we have are true numbers and we are proud of that.

Thank you again to all our past customers for believing in our program and thank you to everyone who takes the time to dive into our herd a little more, whether it be a tour of the cows, a quick phone call or a message sent. We appreciate all of you very much and we don’t take this life we live for granted at all.

Please join us Feb. 24 at the farm for our 8th Chapter of our Bull Sale. The coffee will be hot, the beer will be cold and the hospitality will be flowing. See you all south of Vermilion in late February!

The Waltzs

PS If everyone could all say a small prayer to Mother Nature for a decent day for the sale this year that would be much appreciated.

W2 HOLYFIELD 82M

Homo Polled /// Red /// WTZ 82M /// PG1537107 /// 1/5/2024

LOT 1: Every year there’s a few bulls that have caught your eye at every stage of the game. 82M would fit into that group for sure for us. A bull that is structurally so sound while having that soggy, easy doing look that we like here at W2. He’s one of 2 red Holyfield sons in the sale this year. Both are out of black mommas and both super high end bulls. Holyfield needs no introduction as he is one of the best bulls we have had the privilege to walk. The first set of Holyfield sons sold here last year where they led off the two year old bulls for us and averaged well over $12,000. This baldy bull will be popular sale day we are confident.

Calving AA Act. BW 100 Adj. WW 812

LOT 2: Another real neat Holyfield son in a red package. This loose hided, dark red bull comes from one of our favorite black cows on the place. She goes back to our KWA Mountain bull who worked the heifer pen for us for so many years with success. That Mountain bull put a lot of sons through our bull sale and for good reason. They calved easy and they grew, just like we think this Holyfield son will do with his calf crop. If easy doing, great temperament bulls who get around the pen so effortlessly are top of your list then you might want to have a look here. The biggest pet in the 2 yr old pen and a definite “short list” type of bull.

LOT 3: High Stakes continues to walk at our place and he continues to impress with not only the way he can cover a group of cows, but how good he looks doing it. High Stakes sons were popular last year for their dark red color, awesome hair coats and overall power the bulls possessed while still all being very good numbered. 50M himself sits in the top 20% in the breed in both CE and BW EPDS, while still having real respectable performance numbers. This blood red bull was one of the bulls Scott Bohrson picked out this summer on his summer tour through the sale bulls and their mommas. A bull that will make a lot of short lists come sale day.

LOT 4: One of the heaviest bulls of the pen sale day for sure. This High Stakes son comes from a cow purchased out of the Double Bar D herd a few years ago as one of the high sellers of their female sale that year. She has put a couple females through the Border City sale as well as a bull through this sale. This bull looks like a herd bull and has always been early maturing. The High Stakes females are now in production here and have worked very well for us and we think will make a big impact on our herd in the coming years. Don’t miss out on your chance to add a High Stakes son to your bull battery as we think they will have just as big of an impact.

LOT 5: When touring people in the summer of 2024 we often had it pointed out what a great looking pair the 784 cow and her bull calf were. Both dark red, stout made and really attractive through that front end. Well those people were right and that stout bull calf has turned into a real head turner of a herd bull prospect. Walking through the pen this fall has been fun seeing these bulls develop, but maybe none as fun to watch at the 54M bull. We think he has a really bright future to him. The bull moves with such ease and everything just flows so good with him in motion. A bull that will cover some cows, not only this year, but we think will have some longevity built in.

W2 HIGH STAKES 44M

LOT 6: You will often hear us rave about these Mountain daughters and how they are all peas in a pod. The 821 cow who is the dam of Lot 6 is no exception. She is a beautifully made Simmental momma cow. Nice uddered, heavy haired and a big old foot under her. Just a no non sense low maintenance type of cow. With just an 88 lb birthweight this bull would be an ideal sire for those second calvers or maybe you want to use him to moderate some birthweights. Either way we think the calf crop he will leave behind will be exceptional.

LOT 7: Here’s a baldy bull who comes from a large framed cow who has put 3 bulls through this very sale and 3 females into our cow herd. She is as consistent as they come to put it simply. With just a low 90’s BW we feel he should be a prime candidate to calve easy enough, but sire a truckload of steers that will weigh down the scale in the fall. 69M has always been a bull we have admired for his extra look and while his steers will be heavy weights, his daughters should find their way to the replacement pen also.

LOT 8: If you have followed our program over the last couple of years I’m sure you have heard us talk about the Darlin cows we own with our sale partners and good friends the Wallgrens. Wallgrens have a whole wack of sons out of her this year in the sale and this is our loan Darlin son this year, but we will have quite a few next year it looks like for the sale. We sold a full brother to this guy last year to Westman Farms who walk some of the elite herd bulls in the land at their operation. 24M himself was on what I would call a weaker recip the year he nursed and has exploded since he has been on his own. He patterns a lot like his sire Loyalty who we walk at W2. Dark red with a big time cow behind him is reason enough to give this guy a second look.

KWA MOUNTAIN 18C D: W2 TEMINA 724E W2 TEMINA 424B

Calving AA Act. BW 90 Adj. WW 768

This would be the highest amount of red blazed bulls we have ever marketed in a single year. Maymont was a bull who was the leadoff and high selling Mcintosh bulls the year we purchased him. He is a dark red blazed Stratton son who is packed full of red meat with just a great foot under him. The 34M bull himself comes again from one of these Mountain daughters who would we consider ideal in her udder construction. She’s 9 this year and she has the udder of a 3 yr old. Lots of good to this bull with his dark red color, popular blazed face and EPD wise this bull should calve very good being in the top 30% of the breed in CE. These Maymont sons will be popular we believe.

W2 MAYMONT 63M

Calving A Act. BW 84 Adj. WW 760

Here’s a Maymont who comes from a Drunken Sailor sired cow. Drunken Sailor was a Captain Morgan son who we walked here for one short season as he was injured. So the number of daughters we have is limited, but they are good. 63M himself is a heavy haired, dark red bull who really can get out and move. We say it every year, but we do think it’s important that everyone know these bulls feet have never been touched. I won’t say we can’t run into a foot issue, but we have been very fortunate to have very few as we believe getting a real look at these feet gives you a better picture of how they will look in the years to come.

LFE STRATTON 3094F S: MCINTOSH MAYMONT 38K

SASSY 16C

The more Cobra daughters you can have in your herd is probably the better. We unfortunately don’t have a lot as we have sold a lot through the years but the ones we have are very productive. Another larger framed Maymont son here who should put some weight on a group of calves. Quite possibly the longest sided bull of the group and we all know pounds pay in the end. Again, a really good footed bull who should get out and breed for you. We think these bulls are in ideal breeding shape. What you see is what you get.

LOT 12: Here’s the natural calf of the IPU Pocahontas cow we have flushed here in the past. Just 2 years ago we led off this sale with 3 sons of hers in fact. Another Maymont son who has a real cool look to him. Probably the biggest framed Maymont, again in that really nice dark red color. The Pocahontas donor is a real power cow. She’s big ribbed, big topped and she would weigh the scale down. We actually almost lost the cow the year her 3 sons sold, but she is back to her old self and looking as good as ever. A bull that will catch your eye with the unique white markings he has on his face, but will keep you looking at him for his overall completeness.

Another one of these Mountain daughters who is still going strong here at 9 years of age. On the dams side you will also see the WFL Licous cow who was the first ever cow we flushed around here years ago. The 3M bull himself is a stout made Maymont son who does a lot of things right. We like this bull for his extra shape and top he has, while still having that calving ease head and shoulder to him. A bull that will deserve a second look on sale day.

A Act. BW 94 Adj. WW 796

LOT 15: A Maymont son who comes from our daughter Jaycees purebred cow Yara. Yara was an embryo calf out of the great Westcott bull and she has done well for Jaycee. Multiple bulls through this sale and her only daughter she has ever had went to Mader Ranches as a heifer calf out of the Border City Sale. Every year we say we hope Yara has a heifer this year and again in 2026 she laid down and spit out a bull calf. This would be one of if not the heaviest muscle bull of the group. Rounder in his shape and you can almost picture the load of steers he will sire in the future.

LOT 16: We have a big group of these Modano sons this year and for good reason. This would be the most bulls we have kept from heifers since the Mountain bull that we talk about so much that you see in a lot of pedigrees at our place. Modano himself was lost after 1.5 breeding seasons due to an injury and were not gonna lie that one hurt. He was everything we look for in a heifer bull. Moderate in stature yet his calves had some jam and he calved like a dream. 16M would be like a lot of the Modano sons. Dark red, really nice headed and we think he should calve nice with a 78lb birthweight.

Calving
Sire - Black Gold Modano 172K

If you came for a heifer bull here’s a strong candidate or if you just have some heavier BW cows you want to bring down in birthweight he’s an option for that too. Sitting in the top 20% in the breed in CE and the top 4% for BW he should calve well no doubt. His maternal grandfather was an Epic son who worked really well for us for a couple years on heifers. He just got a little big frame wise or we would have used him longer for sure. You come and decide which Modano son you like best, but this guy would be high on our list.

Another dark red, thick made Modano son. He comes from the Kora cow family who we obtained from the Maxwell program. Again this first time momma did a nice job on her first calf. Her second calf has been left in the replacement pen. Cows that pay their way like this one are the right kind. Too often the good looking ones that don’t produce stay around a little too long. Well this momma is good looking AND she produces.

W2 MODANO 56M

BLACK GOLD APPROVAL 51H S:

Another Modano son who started out a modest 76 lbs. Not a sure fire heifer bull by his numbers but we are confident he will calve very nice. He still does sit in the top 30% of the breed in BW. A little larger framed bull of the brothers, but like his brothers real tidy through that front end. His gramma was one of our prized cows on the place who we unfortunately lost last fall. She originated from Rancier Farms and she sold numerous top bulls through this sale going to great operations like Westman Farms and to Kelly Husch. Like I said above this would be the biggest sire group we have had from a calving ease bull in a few years.

20

If you came to find a calving ease bull backed by generation after generation of great cows have a look here. The grandma of this bull would be the mother of the Lot 2 bull who will be a sale feature no doubt. She is beautiful in her design and the daughter who would be built very similar but just in a red package. A bull that ranks in the top 20% for BW and with his actual BW of 78 lbs we think he should calve real nice. Our goal is to get some bigger sire groups as we move forward and this Modano group did just that for us. They are definitely peas in a pod.

W2 MODANO 13M

It’s funny when you start studying programs and how certain cow families continue to show up in pedigrees. The Licious cow family would be one of those for us. The old Licious 9028 cow was one of the first cows ever flushed at our place and we have numerous daughters in the herd producing. Another Modano son here that ranks in the top 25% for BW and has an actual BW of 80 lbs. We found after clipping this bull that he did have small scurs.

A Act. BW 92 Adj. WW 820

LOT 22: Here’s the start of our Apollo sons and one that we think will garner some attention sale day. Apollo was the bull that came out of the Crossroads program. An American Red son who puts a bit of a different twist on pedigree for us. His sons are dark red and heavy. We expect 65M to weigh up at bull sale time. We sound like a broken record, but he is again out of one of these Mountain daughters. The Mountain daughters as a whole might be the best uddered group of cows we have. It’s a large sample size and we don’t have one that we think is marginal, they’re all above average for sure. This guy will be easy to find sale day.

A Act. BW 102 Adj. WW 794

LCDR AMERICAN RED 99E

LOT 23: 78M has been a favorite around here for a while. I think a lot of that comes from the cow he is out of. The 020 cow is beautiful in her design. She’s a dark red Rival daughter who has an ideal udder. She has a standout heifer in the replacement pen this year that we are really excited about getting in production. 78M himself has a real nice look to him. He’s stout made, but still attractive in his design. He looks like a herdbull. This is a really good set of Apollo sons this year we think.

LOT 24: Another straight red Apollo son who we think very highly of. He comes from the 141 cow who is an ideal momma cow for us. She is big ribbed, easy doing and has a real nice tidy udder to her. The dam is actually sired by a bull we raised and used for one season when we rain in to some bull trouble. He later went on to sell to our good customer Kelly Husch. We later tried to buy back in to the bull, but the breeding dates didn’t line up to make it work. When you look at overall balance this bull has it, he has always had a look to him from a young age that makes you look twice. One of the youngest bulls in the pen, but he has always rolled with big guys. The Apollo sons last year were popular and we think they will be again.

LOT 25: A big framed Apollo son who again will put some pounds on that calf crop. Out of a Liberator daughter who is a big framed cow who continually puts a bull in the sale or a heifer in the replacement pen. Liberator was purchased out of the Double Bar D herd as the high selling purebred that year when we partnered with Erixons on him. He bred here for quite a few years and was one of the most impressive herd bulls in the flesh no doubt. 68M has the performance numbers that sit in the top 30% of the breed.

With an actual BW of 72lbs an an EPD that puts him in the top 15% of the breed we think he would be a great options on heifers or the very least second calvers. He comes from a cow that was purchased out of the historic R Plus dispersal as a heifer calf that day. She is a twist on pedigree for us being from the Uppercut bull who worked so well for R Plus. We don’t have a lot of options for the black calving ease bulls, but this one should deserve a look.

LOT 27: The Holyfields led off our 2 yr old bulls last year and there’s a good chance they will again this year. Holyfield himself is the best footed bull we have walked at our place. Just a huge foot under him and they have never been touched. We own the Holyfield 96J bull with our good friends Blackgold and they too are always commenting on how good that bulls foot still looks at 5 years old now. This son of his will be easy to find sale day with his unique blaze. His momma came to us from Rust Mountain in the states and she has done an exceptional job for us. She sold a top end bull to Larry Anderson of Minburn a couple years ago. This bull would be in the same quality as his brother, just this time in the blazed package.

LOT 28: A Holyfield that has been a favorite for a long time around here. Genetically he has our Flirty Magilcuty as his grandma which is never a bad thing. This Boone Pickens daughter had a short life here and was lost due to injury and when we tell you she was beautiful I guess you will have to take our word for it. The bull himself profiles so beautifully. He is extended through that front, really nice hipped and has a big sweep to that rib. When I look at this bull all I can think of is the pen of replacement females he will leave behind. The cross of Holyfield and the Flirt cow family worked and you better believe we will be doing some more of that around here in the future.

LOT 29: A large framed Holyfield son who should add some frame to his calf crop. Comes to us out of a real nice Swayze daughter who has turned in to a beautiful female. The Swayze daughters were definitely his legacy and we have a good number of them walking around here. Proof is the Lot 1 bull who to comes form a Swayze daughter. The 48M bull himself is long bodied, real neat and tidy through that front shoulder with a real calving ease head to him. There’s no doubt that the cow herd as a whole had got smaller in terms of frame and we think this guy will add some frame for those who need or want it. We can’t state this enough that we think all these bulls are in breeding shape, they’re not hog fat, they’re bulit to breed cows this year and for lots of years after that.

LOT 30: One thing we wish we had more of around here were these Absolute daughters. The ones we have are very productive and the mother of this bull is no exception. Overall this would be the best set of mannered bulls we have sold. 2 yr old bulls are not always fun to manage or get to this point, but we have tried to weed out any problems. 80M is the furthest thing from a problem bull, he’s very well mannered and a great bull to work with. We think he will add hair and foot quality to a calf crop. The Holyfield were popular last year and we believe they will be again this year.

LOT 31: Here’s an ET bull out of our Flirty Magilcuty donor cow that has done so much for us. She is our highest earning cow on the place and she still look like a 4 yr old at age 10. The foot quality of that cow along with how good udder looks has us hopeful she will be around for years to come. Two years a Flirty Magilcuty bull has led off this sale. Southside the popular calving ease bull went to Deeg Simmentals and Canadian Sires and W2 Kraken went to Westman Farms and the Williams family. This Bentley son is about as tried and true of genetics as you can find. We sold a full sister to this bull to Lewis Farms for $19,500 where she was a sale feature in the Border City a couple years back. Good genetics never go out of style.

W2 HIGH STAKES 33M

Here’s a big framed High Stakes son in a black package. This is the first year we bred high Stakes to any black cows. We were aiming to get a few black females out of him to add to the herd as we liked the red ones so much. 33M is one of the larger framed bulls in the offering. He will put some pounds on a calf crop no doubt. Again, we try to deal with any problems and we believe we have with attitude. 33M is not the bull you go up to and scratch, but he is also not the bull that run at you in the pen. Just buyer beware if your looking for a pet this isn’t the bull for you.

W2 HIGH STAKES

33

If you want a beautiful cow behind your herd bull well here’s one no doubt. The 619 cow phenotype wise is an ideal Simmental cow in our minds. Big barreled, nice uddered and packed full of muscle, while still being good looking and attractive. The 31M bull would be moderate in his frame size and he’s hairy! The High Stakes bull was very good investment for us the day we bought him out of this very sale form Wallgren Farms with our partner Westman Farms. He is still walking at both our places and he looks good doing it at 6 years old.

W2 HIGH STAKES 74M

LOT 34

Here’s a bull from our son Cash. Cash started his purebred herd with a purchase from Lewis Farms at their female sale many years ago. She was a Heavon Sent who the Lewis program has made famous. That original cow is still here working at 9 and has a bull in the sale. She also has left 3 daughters in the herd that are working for Cash. We often joke with Cash he may need to buy a quarter of land to pasture all these cows he’s collecting. The 74M bull is a large framed long bodied bull who comes from a large framed momma cow. A bull that should calve well with numbers above average in both CE and BW.

Homo Polled /// Black /// WTZ 46M /// BPG1537101 /// 10/4/2024

LOT 35: The old 415 cow just left the farm this fall at the age of 11. This is the 7th bull he has put through this sale in 8 years. We just got used to her spitting out a bull calf every spring unassisted. She has sent some bulls to really good operations including Hines Farms north of Vermilion who always buy the good ones. 46M himself is moderate in his frame size and a real easy bull to work with. Again, as we have stated before this has been the best group of bulls as a whole to work with this winter which is always the goal. A bull with some longevity built right in for that commercial cowboy.

LOT 36: Here’s a natural calf out of the Flirty Magilcuty donor female. When you breed one of your donors to a bull it really shows you what you think of that herdbull and we think of lot of the High Stakes bull no doubt. We plan to infuse Flirty genetics in our herd as much as we can over the coming year with numerous embryo daughters being born each year as well as we use the popular Southside bull on the majority of our heifers where we can. 29M himself is a bull that’s packed full of muscle and has that real herdbull presence to him. A great opportunity to add two of the major pieces of our herd over the last few years in this guy.

LOT 37: Here’s the lone percentage bull in the sale. Numerous brothers to this bull have went though this sale including a feature bull in our first ever sale to the Jacksons at Boulder Bottom. The Apollo red group of sons are all exceptional and these couple black brothers are no exception. We love the presence this bull has. He’s so proud through that front third and he’s a true beef bull packed full of muscle. This bull just looks to me like he will breed cows and he will have no problem getting around to do it. Not unlike myself he’s clearly an athlete….

LOT 38: Here’s another one of our son Cash’s bulls. From his original Heaven Sent cow that was bought out of the Lewis Farms female sale a few years back. Heaven has been a producer for Cash, but almost always having females. This is just the second bull and he’s a good one. Like the red Apollo sons this bull has that extra red meat to him and natural muscle. A bull that we think will breed really nice with some Angus based cows where maybe you want to add a little punch to the calves. This is the last year of the Apollo calves for us and this is by far his most consistent set to date.

W2 MAYMONT 49M

LOT 39: The loan black Maymont son and in a really attractive blazed face. We like the muscle shape and dimension to this Maymont son, built very similar to his sire. Out of a really nice Swayze daughter who like her sisters we have talked about earlier is very good uddered. The numbers on this bull say he should calve well and with the skull shape and front end he has we agree. He sits in both the top 30% for CE and BW in the breed. Maymont bred really nice for us. They are no nonsense cattle that seem to be easy fleshing. We sold our first Maymont bred heifer this year where she commanded $19,000 to X-T Simmentals in Saskatchewan. Great option here for a bull to add some pounds, but should calve real nice for the new owners.

W2 HUSTLE 4M

LOT 40: Here is a real brute of a bull. An embryo calf out of the Jenna cow we no longer have. If you came for a big time performance bull have a look here. This guy is big and will weigh up sale day no doubt. When you get to analyzing the bull the first thing that sticks out is how how “cocky” and proud fronted he is. The next thing you notice is the length of body he has. At the end of the day we still get paid by the pound and this guys calves will weigh up. We have stated this on a couple bulls, but if your looking for the bull who you can scratch in the pen this probably isn’t the bull for you. He just likes to stay with the group, but has never gave us a reason to not trust him. He actually was very good to deal with in the picture pen. Having Capacity in a pedigree is never a bad thing.

W2 BATTLE RIVER 6N

Homo Polled /// Black /// WTZ 6N /// BPG1512394 /// 18/1/2025

LOT 41: Here’s the bull we call Battle River! Battle River is almost overwhelming in terms of middle and rib shape. From a very young age he has always been huge bellied and soft made. He comes from the RF Intensity bull who himself is an absolute specimen to see in the flesh. With all that excitement about the sire of the bull, we are equally excited about the momma cow he is out of. Stella 201K had our leadoff and high selling bull last year going to Pebble Spring Farms in her first try at motherhood and this would be her second crack at it. Pretty good for her first two calves if you ask us.

W2 INTENSITY

LOT 42: Here’s one of our two RF Intensity sons we will sell this year. This one in a red package and out of two black parents. Intensity was the $100,000 Rancier bull we partnered with Canadian Sires on in the spring of 24. I saw that bull at Ranciers yard about 2 weeks before their sale and I called Jenna as soon as I got back the truck and said we have to find a way to own that bull. We used him heavy in our late group his first breeding season and we used him a bit early, but only got a couple bulls. This red Intensity son has a maternal brother selling as lot 9. If added hair and bone are on your checklist, along with the dark red color we think this young prospect might be worth looking at. A bull that has got better every day and we think his best days are ahead of him.

W2 BUFFALO COULEE 1N

Homo Polled /// Red /// WTZ 1N /// PG1536474 /// 10/1/2025

LOT 43: Here’s a bull that’s had us excited for a while. He comes to you in a beautiful dark red package and that awesome blazed face that is so desirable now a days. Out of the LFE Loyalty bull who was a $200,000 sale highlight the year he sold and we are proud to now walk at W2. Loyalty himself is still a sight to see, he moves effortlessly not unlike Kyle Lewis did across the dance floor of the Vermilion Shack Bar back in his day. The bull we call Buffalo Coulee has that extra length and by the looks of things he wants to breed some cows as he is continually calling for the ladies in the pen over. A definite sale highlight for us no doubt.

LOT 44: A Loyalty son out of a real good Flirty Magilcuty 7D daughter who just happens to be our highest earning cow on the place. These Flirty daughters are all so good uddered and are turning into real productive cows in our herd. This Loyalty son himself is moderate in his frame size and packed full of red meat. A real ideal hip on him and a bull that just stays together so nicely on the move. It doesn’t hurt having the popular blazed face either. We think this cross of the Flirt cow family with the Loyalty bull puts two of our most cherished genetics to work in a real neat package.

W2 HIGH STAKES 19N

LOT 45: Here’s a real chunk of a bull. Moderate in his frame, but we think he should weigh up with the rest of his pen mates. This bull has a lot of neat pieces to him, starting with an ideal skull shape and ending with a big old hip to him. He comes from a dark red Mountain daughter who phenotype wise is ideal in our minds. We tried to put a couple bulls from 3 different sire groups in this yearling group and we think this bull is a great representation of the High Stakes sons. We don’t creep these yearling bulls and we run them like our 2 yr old as we think it is only the fair way to show off our program. Momma’s milk and green grass got this guy to where he was at weaning time in late September.

W2 HIGH STAKES 21N

LOT 46: Here’s the largest framed bull of the yearlings we are offering this year. Another High Stakes son who comes from a large framed Rival daughter. A bull that we think will work well on those cows you want to add a bit of frame to, while not losing any of that punch in the calf crop. A real nice tempered bull who is a treat to work in the pen. Were not sure how many more years of High Stakes we will have as we are starting to get a lot of daughters in the herd, but we look at that as good problem to have. High Stakes works.

The bull development program is built to maximize forage utilization and gut health All forages are sampled and analyzed to ensure quality feed sources are used Once the calves are weaned, they are slowly transitioned to a TMR The TMR is forage based and is designed to promote lean muscle growth, allowing the bulls to express their genetic potential The energy source used in the bull ration is a 16% protein pellet Multiple protein sources are used that provide a blend of rumen degradable and rumen undegradable protein Rumen health is of upmost importance, which is why suitable protein sources and proper starch levels are fed to the bulls If you have any questions about the nutrition program, feel free to give me a call

We welcome you to the Chapter 8, we are always grateful for the opportunity to be a guest consignor in this great sale! We have really enjoyed marketing our bulls in this sale and we are always striving to make a better set of bulls year after year. It’s a great privilege to work alongside the Waltz family, they are truly the nicest people around and are great people to work with, they love raising good cattle and they do a darn good job at it.

Our farm is located 10 miles north of Edgerton AB, where we run a mix grain and cow calf operation that consists of 180 purebred and commercial Simmental cows. Our purebred herd is slowly growing each year and we strive to keep the quality as high as we can as we slowly increase, so we can bring a elite set of bulls to offer year after year. We run a top notch set of commercial cows and they play a big part in expanding our purebred genetics. We calve the commercials early with the purebreds and that way we are able to utilize them to expand our purebreds genetics with embrvo transplants. Our E.T program has created a new and fresh lineup of genetics and we implanted around 100 embryos this spring off our elite donors, along with purchasing different embryo matings through select sales. This creates a strong lineup of some of the newest and most sought after genetics in the breed and we continue to keep growing our herd this way. We also strongly believe the best way to grow a herd is to buy a female that can change your program for the better and we have built up some cornerstone females around our place now and we encourage anyone to stop in for a tour anytime throughout the year! This lineup of bulls is a group that has been sure fun to watch grow over the last year and truly a group we are darn proud of. The consistency and quality in the pen is the deepest yet with it being our largest offering to date as well. Our bulls are fed on a Bulleves TMR based ration, and are kept in a large pen to allow ideal movement at all times as structural soundness is very important to us. Attention to detail in feeding and management we take very seriously and stand 100% behind our bulls. We feel confident we have assembled a group of bulls that represents the direction our program is aiming toward, and we are sure proud of them.

You’re always welcome to stop in and have a look at the bulls and cowherd anytime of the year, we would love to show you around. Don’t hesitate to contact us about any of the bulls in the offering or give a shout to anyone on Bohrson Marketing team for their professional assistance. We would like to thank all our buyers over the previous years. Everyone’s support is overwhelming and greatly appreciated! We have always said the best thing about the bull business is the great people you get to meet doing it, and that is a real testament to why we love what we do so much. We look forward to seeing everyone sale day Feb 18!

The

Bloodmoney is hands down the very best red to step foot on this place and rightfully so. To make one this dark red but still checking off all the boxes is challenging to say the least but sure rewarding when it does happen. One that is so unique in his build, yet jammy in all the right spots. He is admired from every angle when on the standstill and on the move he’s fault free. He displays tons of presence, massive made, super stout and good from the ground up. This is a bull that’s hard to pick a hole in. He’s one that keeps getting better every day. Every awesome herdbull candidate should have a big time dam backing them up and Darlin is that to say the least. She is the most prolific cow on the farm and is built to dominate on a show road but better yet dominate in the donor pen. She’s a cow with great structural integrity and the most incredible udder you could have on a cow. Bloodmoney sure resembles his sire in many ways but I think the color and quality puts it into words best. We think Bloodmoney has the potential to be a potent sire in the industry and we plan to utilize him in our program heavily. He is definitely one of the best red bulls to sell all spring and we are thrilled to have him in our lineup for your appraisal.

WF LUXURY 271N

Luxury is a big time herdbull prospect that is performance driven with an undeniable design. He has been an absolute unit since day one. He is extremely stout, massive middled, big framed, with tons of muscle shape and sets down on a big square foot. He has such a neat look yet still possesses such defined herdbull characteristics which makes him intriguing to analyze. He was one we regret not campaigning this fall as we really think he could’ve competed well. He is sired by the 200,000 LFE Loyalty that has bred extremely well in many programs. They are easy fleshing cattle that are easy to pick out and push down the scale at weaning. When mated to our potent Darlin donor we knew she had all the right pieces to match up nice with Loyalty. Her added frame and length with a breathtaking look was just what we needed to make a great one. We are excited to offer Luxery to the industry as we feel like he has tons of breeding potential and plan to utilize him where we can in our program. He fits right in the category with his maternal brother as one of the best reds we have made to date.

Austin & Sydney Partington 780-581-1139

On behalf of the Partingtons at Country Lane Angus we would like to welcome you to our 2nd annual consignment bull sale. We are thrilled to once again be guest consignors to Chapter 8 of the W2 Land and Cattle Simmental Sale. Kelly and Jenna are great friends and neighbors and we are truly grateful for this opportunity and continue to learn as we go.

Country Lane’s story began in 1955 in Evesham, SK, when it was founded by my parents, Thomas and Anne Partington. Although it took a brief hiatus while I attended college, the operation was revitalized in 1990 by Geretta and myself in Vermilion, AB. We are proud to work alongside our son, Austin and his wife, Sydney and daughter Carsyn and new addition on January 2nd, Parker Thomas. What a great start to 2026! Austin has always had a passion for his black angus cows since his 4H years and a desire to carry on the family tradition. They continue to build their own elite herd with passion and intent and we couldn’t be more proud and excited for them! Our daughter, Brittany and her husband Joel and their 3 boys, Paxton, Walker and Blake live in Lloydminster but spend lots of time at the farm helping out wherever and whenever needed. Our farm is located just seven miles south of Vermilion, on the west side of Highway 41 and a very short distance from the W2 farm operation.

We calve out approximately 80 cows annually and continue to focus on quality. We calve our cows in January and February so that we can market select females in the fall and sell our bulls as yearlings the following spring. Our breeding program emphasizes innovation and excellence. We extensively utilize artificial insemination (AI), breeding the majority of our herd within a 21-day window. We also incorporate embryo transfer technology to further enhance our offerings and for the first time this year, we have flushed some of our cornerstone cows. When selecting sires, we work hard to integrate new and exciting genetics ensuring that we have something to suit our customer needs. We are very grateful for the buyers who have supported our program through private treaty in the past and we are proud to take part in this forum to showcase our program.

We have on offer 16 yearling bulls that we are excited about and will stand behind them 100%. The bulls are vaccinated and weaned in early September and fed a balanced Bullseye TMR based ration with access to a large bull run for ideal athleticism and development. The cow/calf pairs are on free choice Westman Animal Nutrition mineral summer/fall and we move to a Bullseye mineral once they get on their TMR for winter/spring feeding.

We warmly invite you to the farm for a tour anytime—our door is always open, and the coffee is always on. A couple days prior to the sale, the bulls will be moved to the W2 sale for your viewing. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Austin, myself or any of the Bohrson Marketing Team. We also extend a personal invitation to join us on sale day, February 24, 2026.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely, Arch

On Behalf of the Country Lane Team

COUNTRY LANE MENDOZA 41N

LOT 67: Country Lane Mendoza 41N - From day one, 41N has been a standout and continues to turn heads as a real sale feature. The influence of Coleman Mendoza 271 is undeniable, his daughters dominated fall sales as high sellers, and now his sons are poised to make a big impact this spring. 41N’s dam, RL Black Pearl 49K ET, first caught my eye on the show road in fall 2023 as a bred female, and I knew her genetics belonged in our program. She’s a daughter of the legendary Bar-E-L Natural Law 52Y, a proven female-maker whose influence runs deep in elite Angus pedigrees. 41N himself combines a proud, commanding look with extra length, depth, and a powerful hindquarter—traits that commercial and purebred producers demand. He backs that up with performance: an adjusted weaning weight of 806 lbs. and a yearling weight of 1,460 lbs. This is one of the first Mendoza sons to sell, and he’s built to lead. Secure these genetics now—because in a few years, you’ll wish you had more of them in your herd.
