All entries sell with a responsible breeder guarantee of satisfaction. In the event of any unlikely dispute, the regular terms and conditions recognized by and in accordance with the Canadian Aberdeen Angus Association Code of Ethics shall apply.
Announcements
Any announcements made on sale day will take precedence over the printed material in the catalogue.
Terms of Sale
Cash or cheque at par, payable to the clerks on sale day. No animal will be released until satisfactory settlement has been made. We reserve the right to withhold animals from export shipment for which payment has not been received.
All sales are in CDN funds.
Bidding
Each animal sells to the highest bidder. In the case of a dispute, the auctioneer’s decision shall be final.
Phone bid arrangements can be made with an independent buyer or any of the sales staff.
Online bidding is available through www.dlms.ca
Risk & Ownership
No cattle will be released until the conclusion of the sale. Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser immediately upon being declared sold. Ownership risk transfers when the auctioneer’s hammer falls. All bulls have been semen tested.
Insurance
Livestock insurance coverage will be available on sale day from appointed representatives.
Delivery
Buyers who pick up their bull on sale day will receive a $300 discount. If your bull returns with us to Vee Tee for later delivery or pickup, bulls must be insured, as any loss occurring after the sale is at the buyer’s risk. Bulls may remain free of charge until the current year’s breeding turnout. Free delivery is available within Western Canada. Deliveries beyond Western Canada will be at shared cost.
Liability
All persons attending the sale do so at their own risk. The owners, sale management, sales staff, and property owners assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for property loss or for any accidents that may occur.

This year’s offering represents another powerful and consistent set of herd sire prospects. While backed by a diverse and carefully selected group of sires, the bulls are stamped with the qualities Vee Tee cattle are known for — thick-made, deep-bodied, sound-footed, and masculine, with strong maternal backing.
At Vee Tee, we firmly believe the foundation of every successful ranch is the cow herd. Maternal strength is more than milk production; it includes longevity, structural integrity, udder quality, fertility, and the ability to thrive in a forage-based environment. Our program is built around producing functional, efficient females that work in real-world conditions.
Performance remains a key priority. We have had the opportunity to purchase and feed out steers from long-term customers, and the results have been extremely rewarding. These cattle have excelled both on grass and in the feedlot, reinforcing the consistency, efficiency, and profitability of our breeding program.

Increase Profit — Not Just Production
Vee Tee bulls are bred to deliver early, rapid growth without an undesirable extended growth curve. However, profitability in a cow-calf operation involves more than simply chasing heavier weaning weights.
For many years, the industry has promoted the idea that increased production automatically leads to increased profit. In reality, production and profit are not always aligned. True success is measured in profit per cow — not pounds per calf. Where production costs are carefully documented, the ideal weaning weight often falls in the 500–600 pound range. Beyond that, added weight can come at the expense of efficiency and net return.
For producers retaining replacement females and focusing on cost control, it makes little sense to purchase bulls from strictly production-oriented programs. Vee Tee bulls are
designed to sire daughters that thrive in forage-based, lowcost environments, while still delivering profitable, marketready performance in their steer mates.
What About Carcass?
Carcass merit requires balance. Selection must carefully manage marbling, external fat cover, and percent retail product.
Overemphasizing marbling can lead to inadequate muscling. Percent retail product EPDs are equally — if not more — important in achieving true carcass value.
Our herd sires are selected to reflect this balance. Carcass data collected from numerous sire groups confirms that Vee Tee-sired steers, despite being heavier muscled and high-volume cattle, typically exhibit:
Below-average fat cover
Above-average marbling
Superior cutability (percent retail product)
Importantly, while our cattle are recognized for their fleshing ability on forage, this efficiency does not translate into overly fat carcasses.
What About Size?
The debate surrounding ideal cow size continues across the industry. At Vee Tee, our objective is straightforward: steers that reach 1,500 - 1550 pounds efficiently and economically, and females that mature into productive, moderate-sized cows.
Under our conditions, the typical Vee Tee cow matures in the 1,350–1,400 pound range. When we evaluate cow size relative to production and maintenance costs, our moderateframed cows consistently prove to be the most profitable.
Phenotype Matters
Our cattle are recognized for their distinctive and attractive phenotype. While appearance alone is not enough, market history consistently demonstrates that cattle combining structural correctness, performance, and eye appeal command added value.
When the fundamental building blocks — maternal strength, performance, carcass merit, and structural soundness — are in place, phenotype becomes an economic advantage. These principles form the foundation of our breeding philosophy: balanced, functional cattle designed to enhance profitability in commercial operations.

The Vee Tee program began with a commitment to producing low birth weight, strong maternal, cost efficient performance cattle that are easy fleshing and require minimum maintenance while working in a forage based environment. Our appreciation for this type of cattle evolved over time and the years of working with large numbers of cattle of several breeds gave us the practical insight into the type of cattle needed to meet our goals.
At Vee Tee Angus, balanced multiple trait selection has always been the cornerstone of our breeding philosophy. Most cattlemen today would admit that single trait selection has caused more problems than it’s solved. One need only look at the recent past to see how an overemphasis on frame and growth resulted in excessively large framed, high maintenance cattle that were not practical or profitable. Despite this awareness, true multiple trait selection is often done in name only – witness

the number of people who use only milk EPDs when talking about maternal traits or marbling EPDs when discussing carcass sires.
We believe that cattle breeding is an art. There remain essential cow herd traits not addressed directly by performance testing and EPDs that Vee Tee Angus must have. These traits include fleshing ability on forage, capacity, excellent udder quality, a gentle disposition and structural correctness. Mere buzz words you say? Traits that are hard to define and quantify can still be real. When differences exist between cattle, no matter how subtle, selection pressure can be applied to those differences. Maybe that’s where the “art” of cattle breeding comes into play.
Making progress through multiple trait selection can be a slow process but our long term devotion to that process has resulted in cattle that we believe
are unique. At Vee Tee Angus, maternal is more than just milk, carcass means more than marbling and performance is more than just pounds. Many cattlemen, commercial and seedstock producer alike, are finding themselves at a crossroads with their cow herds. Years of breeding for increased production or using too many highly promoted, unproven bulls has resulted in cattle that are--and let’s be frank here – big, bad and ugly. Vee Tee Angus is one of the few programs truly equipped to address this problem. While remaining solidly performance based, our unique herd bull battery is also designed to moderate size, add muscle, improve structural soundness and fleshing ability and improve udder quality while maintaining profitable production levels. Put simply, the Vee Tee program is going beyond performance.
