SALE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

All animals are guaranteed breeders if properly handled.

All males are guaranteed breeders. Should any ram fail to prove to be a breeder, any claim for adjustment must be made within 12 months of the date of sale. A satisfactory settlement shall be deemed to be replaced with another ram of equal value or refund of purchase price. The seller shall have the right, if so desired, to try a ram for as much as 75 days to determine whether he is a satisfactory breeder, before making final adjustment. All females are guaranteed breeders. Should any female 12 months of age or older, not pregnant at the time of sale, fail to become pregnant during the current breeding season, the purchaser has the right to claim adjustment in writing to the seller within 12 months of the sale. Should any female younger than 12 months of age and not pregnant at the time of sale, fail to become pregnant during the current breeding season, the purchaser should notify the seller within 12 months from the date of sale, but wait to see if the ewe again fails to become pregnant by 24 months of age, before claiming adjustment in writing to the seller. Satisfactory settlement shall be deemed to be replacement with another ewe of equal value or refund of purchase price.

The purchaser shall notify the seller as soon as any concern with an animal arises. Under no conditions will the seller be liable for more than the original purchase price of the animal. The seller may direct the marketing of the animal and refund the difference between the purchase price and the market value as shown on the sales receipt. No incidental expenses, such as feed, care, etc. will be charged by either party when making settlement.

All transportation charges are the responsibility of the buyer.

All animals are the property of the new owner at the conclusion of the sale. All animals are to be picked up as soon as possible, or we can assist in arranging suitable transportation. Any animals that are not picked up within 7 days will be subject to board fee of $2.50/day unless other terms are agreed upon.

All registered animals will be transferred to the new owner and transferred pedigrees will be mailed to the new owner.

Welcome

We are excited this year to have Additional Consignors offering top quality stock to compliment what we have to offer from TODD Sheep Company. Coming from Quebec we have Ovimax and Agronovie bringing the best Rideaus in the Country to Lucknow. To compliment what we have to offer on the Dorset side is Brien Sheep and Ferme Woodstock. With a trio of Suffolk Ewes we have Maple Star Farm and with something new, Charollais’s from Emke Livestock. These are exciting times in the sheep industry with excellent prices for market lambs and a lot of market potential moving forward.

The majority of the purebred sheep in this sale have Genovis data and are genotyped for Scrapie resistance and most have Maedi Visna resistance listed as well. All Todd Sheep animals have been vaccinated with Glanvac 6. We take pride in trying to produce sheep that will work for our buyers, whether you are a commercial lamb producer, purebred breeder or a 4H Family looking to build a small flock of quality sheep. Last fall our Rising Oak Dorset Flock won the All Canadian Genovis Award of Merit for the Maternal Category for the 2nd year in a row, as well as our Suffolk and Ile de France winning the Terminal Sires Award for Ontario, something we are certainly proud of, as we view Genovis to be a valuable tool in providing data for lasting genetic improvement.

We are always willing to help our buyers with nutrition and management advice so you can make the most out of your purchases from us. We like to hear all comments, good or bad on your purchases. If you have questions always feel free to contact us. We want to work with you to grow and prosper in the sheep industry. We have transportation already lined up with Marvin Sauder after the Sale to head to Western Canada and we have transportation heading back East after the Sale as well.
