Once again, our family would like to welcome you to our 2026 Buckskin Bull sale with the same progressive herd improving bulls as we’ve made over the last 19 years! Our sale is a great opportunity to find bulls you need at affordable prices. We highly appreciate the confidence & loyalty that our customers bring & sincerely appreciate your business. Thank You.
As in previous years and in testament to their geographical do-ability, our bulls are raised here on the eastern grasslands of the northern Comox Valley, then winter developed at the Semlin Valley Ranch in Cache Creek BC. A huge thank you to both Pam, Jordan, & their staff at the ranch for their help & effort developing our bulls for a sale ‘just up the road’.
We believe one thing setting us apart, is the uniformity of our bull pen, coming from both winter selection and the use of Sire groups, with the goal of selling only working bulls of the highest quality. We are as proud of the last bull in the ring as the first, and this ensures everyone has an opportunity to own superior bulls at reasonable prices. Here in early 2026, the cattle markets are staying strong & profitable; so with a continuing female shortage in the continental supply, there is no better time to invest in exciting new genetics for your herd.
As always, our focus is the commercial cow/calf producer, whether it’s herd improvement or terminal for the bottom line, our goal remains the same…produce easy fleshing, muscular cattle, with outstanding maternal traits on arguably some of the strongest feet around. We believe that good walking cattle breed better & add more weight which is what our offspring have become known for. The bull sale decisions begin on the 1st day, if we have to help with the calving, they do not make the sale. Equally important, is the vigour the calf displays upon their birth, under maternal cows doing their jobs…we want the calf up and milking quickly, where these bulls are made so the work is done for you, not you workin’ for them.
We only use walking herd sires ourselves. This ensures that we are A. offering bulls that have “real world” functionality & B. we can back up the docility, fertility & genetic features. No need for foot comments, as every entry has the strong feet of a breeder bull. They live on their feet and if they aren’t good enough after winter feeding, they go for a ride. Of note, we do not use any recipient cows or raise any calves this way, all calves are bred, born, & raised on their own dam…what you see is what you get from those genetics & that’s our guarantee from our cow herd to yours!
We love SIRE groups and feel this is a great way to allow buyers the opportunity to compare bulls for their particular needs. We have 4 sire groups this year with our newest Outcross sensation, going back to the Schiefelbein Attractive 4565/Peak Dot Attractive sires in Gentry 401L, a muscularly chiseled, deep cherry red rascal, along with our biggest sire group from Chancellor 2107K, our never miss stalwart Apex 82G & his last run of breeding at 9 years, the legendary patriarch himself, Bono 215D.
We have some excellent help this year for our sale. Please contact myself or Craig for any assistance. If you should have any questions, we’d be happy to visit anytime.
Please contact us for a tour of the bulls beforehand & join us on sale day for our legendary BBQ & social!

ANGUS BULL DEVELOPMENT Heart of the Valley

ANGUS BULLS CALVING EASE GUIDE
Calving Ease is often related to the birth weight of a bull, and while this is partly true, there are other factors that influence CE. The dam and her management are at least 50% to 60% of the CE. The consistency & consideration of the following will also influence birth weight.
• BW’s of the sire and dam
• BW epd
• CE & Maternal CE epd’s
• Sires calving inclinations
• Sires physical confirmation
• Nutrition, gestation, environment & latitude
• Breed composition
• Hybrid vigour
We rate each bull in the sale based on our recorded information & personal knowledge of our herd . Each year, one of the more frequent questions is which of our bulls will work best on their heifers? Of course, only that person inherently knows their own heifers enough to make that call. We try our best to evaluate each bull in our sale to assist you in your choices, using our guidelines of:

This big bodied stud was a feature calving ease sire at the Towaw sale in 2024. We had our eye on him for a while; he was the 1st red son of the black sensation Schiefelbein Attractive line thru Jentry 4J as well as having a grand dam from the legendary Indeed 104H bull. His thick exceedingly correct big body with an extremely dark cherry red colour coat was something we wanted, along with his wicked good foot, and female lines with impeccable udders, he would be put to excellent use on producing another generation of new genetic outcross foundational females for us. We are looking forward to his daughters, first calves in 2027!

When this magnificent character came along, I knew he was worth taking a swing at. Chancellor is a remarkably stout, highly muscled, pure top and bottom outcross of genetics for the Red Angus herdbook, bred out from the 2021 world record breaking black sire SAV President 6847. His unique genetics present a fresh new gene pool from his loose hided, easy travelling, great fronted frame, that we believe has limitless potential in the years to come. His first daughters are getting bred this spring and they are those irreplaceable herd building type of females we all love to keep!

Bono 215D was an outright standout lower bw specimen maker here at Heart of the Valley for the last 9 years after we selected him to come and further our herd program in building some of our absolute perfect footed, beautiful uddered cows. He is an undisputable Foot Improver, & was the type that only come around the seed stock industry once in a blue moon & we knew it. We’ve had nothing but excellent reviews back from previous customers of both sons & daughters. Here in his working clothes, he still retained a wonderful stride and profile as he aged on, while maintaining as lovely a docile friendly character as we’ve had the pleasure of walking our grass. These are his LAST natural bred calves, but as we believe so highly in his offspring we’ve froze semen on him for future generations.

Welcome to our fifth annual Buckskin Bull Sale here at the Clinton Rodeo Grounds. We invite you all to join us online or come to Clinton to look or buy our bulls at our live sale on February 28, 2026. All bulls are ranch raised in the Cariboo and fed over the winter at the Semlin Valley Ranch in Cache Creek. Thank you to Pam and Jordan for their help and the feed program to ready the bulls for our sale.
It’s hard not to be excited about the cattle industry when the energy and optimism is this high. We watched the market break record after record this past year with no end in sight. It would be hard not to be optimistic for this coming years calf crop and fall sales.
We are once again offering two year olds as well as yearling bulls. Our goal is to offer bulls that are sound and will put the pounds on for the rancher to make maximum dollars in the fall.
We would like to thank our previous buyers and bidders for your support and trust. We couldn’t do this without you. We encourage you to come early and stay late. Have a look at the cattle on offer as well as enjoying lunch, dinner and a visit.

BREEDING GUARANTEE
Heart of the Valley/Limestone Charolais guarantee to sell you a bull that is structurally sound and has passed a semen test completed by a licensed veterinarian.
Should any of the bulls fail to be a satisfactory breeder and unable to service a female, an adjustment will be made to reflect the value of the bull in question – or a credit will be given towards the purchase of another bull from Heart of the Valley/Limestone Charolais at our discretion. Things do go wrong sometimes, and we will be there to back up our sale guarantee. You can be rest assured that we will provide you with a sound breeding bull and we will be there to assist you should a problem arise.
We will, however, not provide replacement, adjustment or credit for any physical injury, sickness, mismanagement, damaged testicles, or deterioration of semen quality after a successful test.
WE HIGHLY STRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF THIRD PART INSURANCE (which is available for purchase on sale day – see sale day page under Insurance)
If you should have any problems with a bull, you must IMMEDIATELY contact Heart of the Valley/Limestone Charolais at rdangus@telus.net / 250-897-0619 for Angus or 250-706-7987 for Charolais. We will require that your veterinarian complete a report and have that report scanned and emailed to us. If the bull dies, a postmortem report will be required, with photo and tattoo identification. Heart of the Valley/Limestone Charolais retain the right to request another veterinarian to complete a second report at their discretion and cost.
