In 2024, we purchased Right Hand Man 14L —a significant step for our program and one we are very glad we made. He has been outstanding to watch mature over the past two years, continuing to impress us at every stage. We are especially excited about the females in the replacement pen and how they are shaping up. His bull calves have been exceptional as well, and as we calve his second calf crop, we are very impressed with the consistent calving ease he is delivering.

This set of bulls has been developed under practical, real-world conditions, including a challenging dry season

here in northeast Alberta. Despite limited moisture, these cattle have continued to perform, demonstrating the kind of durability, efficiency, and soundness we believe are essential in today’s cow herds.

Our emphasis remains on sound feet, high quality udders, calving ease, growth, and disposition—traits that matter where it counts. We run a small group of cows, so we are quick to cut out anything that doesn’t meet our criteria. Many of the bulls in this catalog come from proven cow families that we have selected from other long-time breeders. These females’ have lineage that has stood the test of time, and we believe this offering provides solid options for both commercial and purebred programs. While this marks Tandem T’s first offering hosted online, this program is far from new. For years, Thomas and Tori Ponich have successfully marketed high-end herd bulls privately, earning a strong reputation for cattle that are functional, predictable, and built to work. This sale represents the next step for a program that has quietly done things right from the beginning. Tandem T runs a disciplined cowherd and is quick to remove anything that doesn’t meet their standards. That approach shows clearly in the uniformity, athleticism, and usability of this bull pen.

At the core of this offering is one of the most exciting herd sires to enter the Tandem T program, the great RUSYLVIA/SC Right Hand Man 14L. This bull has flat out delivered. Royally bred as an SVS Rancher 42H son and out of the legendary WFL Red Sage 506C donor, Right Hand Man 14L blends power, muscle shape, and maternal excellence in one elite package. His progeny are consistent in type, sound in structure, and extremely attractive, while also bringing dependable calving ease. Just as importantly, his daughters are shaping up to be cornerstone females that will leave a lasting imprint on the program. KWA Interstate 6J has become their sure-fire calving ease option, stamping calves that come easy, grow efficiently, and maintain excellent structure and disposition. He offers confidence for use on heifers without sacrificing performance, making him a valuable tool for commercial and purebred programs alike. Adding punch and presence to the black bull lineup is KWA Estate 24K, a true power sire that brings performance, mass, and payweight to the forefront. His progeny are bold made, heavy muscled, and built to add pounds while still maintaining functionality and soundness which is exactly what today’s cattle market demands. Rounding out the sire group is Tandem T Walk This Way 15L, a black baldy sire they thought enough of to retain and use heavily within their own herd. Walk This Way has proven himself as a strong maternal contributor, producing daughters with excellent udders, feet, and longevity, while still siring attractive, functional herd bulls.

Can’t make it to the open house? Please feel free to give any of us a call. We know our cattle and are confident in our ability to recommend a bull that fits your program and goals. You can purchase with confidence, knowing your transaction will be handled in a confidential and professional manner.

DELIVERY

Option A: Take advantage of a $200.00 per head discount when you pick up your bull on March 1st

Option B: Free delivery within 300 km of Smoky Lake, AB. If you are unable to receive your bull at the time of delivery, bulls must be picked up at Tandem T Farms at the buyer’s expense.

Option C: Bulls may remain at the farm free of charge until April 1st.

All bulls must be picked up by April 1st at the buyer’s expense. Any bulls remaining at the farm must be fully insured.

Insurance

Any bulls remaining at Tandem T Farms after February 28th must be fully insured.

HERD HEALTH AND FERTILITY

All sale animals are fully vaccinated. At birth, calves receive Inforce® 1 and First Defence®. All calves also receive Bovi-Shield Gold® One Shot and Fermicon® 7 / Ultrabac® 8. Bulls additionally receive two doses of Fusoguard® vaccine.

All bulls are on a full health program under the guidance of the Westlock Veterinary Center. Each bull comes with semen test papers and has been tested prior to the sale. If you have any questions, please give us a call.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE

Standard terms set forth by the Canadian Simmental Association, with the exception of any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

TERMS

All animals sell to the highest bidder, as determined by Farm Gate Auctions. Responsibility for the animal transfers to the buyer at the conclusion of the sale. We highly recommend that buyers insure their bulls. While we will continue to provide the utmost care for your animal until pickup, we are not responsible for any illness, injury, or mortality after the animal has been declared sold.

PAYMENTS

Payment must be made in Canadian funds immediately following the sale. Ownership of the animal does not transfer until full payment has been received. Animals cannot be delivered or picked up until payment has been made in full.

While every precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of buyers, bidders, and viewers, Tandem T Farms, Bohrson Marketing, and Farm Gate Auctions assume no responsibility and disclaim all liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident, injury, or loss of property.

Brand New Man 46N is another Right Hand Man bull calf that was a pleasure to watch develop all summer. Regardless of being born in February, his growth has been exceptional—he kept pace with the older bulls and fit right in from an early age. His dam boasts one of the very best udders on our farm, and we believe this powerful combination has all the credentials to be a true herd improver. His maternal half sister sold to Ashworth’s Farm and Ranch.

Ranch Man 18N comes from an exceptional 15-year-old cow, Blacksand Ranch Deva 18X, who is finally retiring after an incredible and productive career. Year after year, she raised outstanding, heavy-hitting bull calves. Even at her age, she maintains some of the best feet on the farm, along with an udder that has truly stood the test of time. We were really hoping for a female to replace her in our herd—so our loss is your gain with this bull.

Nicky George was a close neighbor and friend who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. His passion for cattle was evident in everything he did and naturally radiated to those around him. Nicky was always welcoming, generous with his time, and deeply valued within our community. He is greatly missed.

Rod Chizawsky was a tremendous mentor and friend, and we truly cherished all the time we spent together. We likely would not be involved in purebred cattle today if it weren’t for Rod’s encouragement and guidance. He was always willing to listen, offer advice, and support us, and he is greatly missed by our family.
