TUESDAY MARCH 10, 2026
LUNCH AT 12PM
SALE TO FOLLOW AT 1PM AT THE FARM
SHININGBANK LAKE, AB
Join us on the farm at Shining Bank for a presale lunch and enjoy some great hospitality before sale time.
Last year at this time, cattle prices were already strong -and Wow, they have just continued to creep up. We have truly hit a profitable and exciting time in the cattle industry, with the future looking bright! I truly hope all producers are proud of themselves for hanging on through some very tough years to get to this point, the hard work and perseverance has paid off!
I viewed the bulls in late December and was genuinely impressed. It felt like more bulls jumped out at me than ever before, a great sign the quality is up again this year. This is a large group of Hairy/Stout bulls that are developed in a sensible, moderate manner to ensure longevity and durability for their customers. You can be confident that every step has been taken to present a sound, functional set of bulls built for real-world conditions.
With large sire groups represented, buyers will have the opportunity to sort through numerous half-brothers, allowing for excellent consistency across your bull battery. Whether you are searching for Reds/Blacks or Flecks, there is an abundance of options in the Swantewitt/Sage bull pen.
Twenty eight replacement heifers will also be on offer and should be highly sought after in today’s market. These females are ready to go to work, hitting your breeding pens to help build maternal strength and longevity to move your cowherd to the next level.
If you are unable to attend the sale in person, please reach out to any of the Transcon Team for assistance.
Hope to see you sale day.
Regards,
Glenn Norton

Offering 81 yearlings, 2 two year olds, and 28 registered replacement heifers. Lunch at 12 PM, sale to follow at 1 PM MST
Welcome to our 22nd annual bull and heifer sale! Thank you so much for taking the time to look through our catalog at this year’s offerings and thank you to all the past buyers who have supported our program throughout the years. Another year has come and gone in this very promising industry and the kids are all growing up along with the calves.
As you look through our catalog you may notice that our program is built on a lot of our own genetics. Many of our bull and heifer calves go back 5+ generations of our own breeding on the cow side. We have focused our herd on using a combination of our own homegrown bulls with industry proven sires and found that is what works best for us. Our goal over the years has been to produce good quality cattle and to focus on foot and udder structure. We’ve strived for an affordable yet highly functional set of bull calves to offer as well as a good handful of replacement females that represent our current sire groups.
We calve 385 head of registered Purebred and Full Fleckvieh cows. The bull pen starts with approximately 160 bulls in it when we wean and ends with the ones cataloged. Over half are cut. Bulls are picked based on their calving ease, weaning weights, temperaments, dams, and scrotal measurements. There are many that are good, but to make the cut, they must be great. We put emphasis on unassisted calvings, trouble free dams with good udders, structural soundness, and a manageable disposition.
In both our fullblood and purebred bull offering there are some polled scurred bulls. Jerry Repka said it so well in his catalog introduction that I asked to use it here too. The scurred gene does not affect whether an animal is horned or polled, it only affects the presence of scurs in animals that are genetically polled. Meaning a scurred bull is not more likely to throw horns than a smooth polled bull. We have dilution tested all of the bulls. If there are any questions regarding this, please don’t hesitate to call.
Our sale will be a live video auction on the farm. The bulls will be available to view on farm at any time and will be in pens for the buyers convenience on Monday and sale day. Feel free to stop by anytime or check out the bulls online. Videos will be posted of each lot on our website at www.swantewittsimmentals.com and can be found online on Transcon and the DLMS websites.
We hope to see you there!

SWANTEWITT DIERDRA 120D
Fullblood, Full Fleckvieh: We kept a half interest in Lunar since he had such calving ease potential and he has not disappointed. Both us and his other owners have been using him on heifers with great success. He calved so well in 2025 that we actually bred most of our fullblood heifers to him this year and have a ton of calves on the ground. They are spry with lots of vigor and still nice growth. He is extremely consistent coming from a cow family with perfect udders and very good temperaments.

The cow family is still in production up to and including the Best 47B cow. These females have great milk and are thick, deep girls that have performed well for us throughout the years. Lory bred back and has calved in early January again this year with a very nice, 74 lb heifer calf. Our Fitzroy daughters are great mothers and we absolutely love them in our herd.

This cow has been a very good female for me. She has a perfect, nice tight udder and good feet under her. I have a sister in my herd as well and have enjoyed this cow family over the years. He has a very quiet temperament that he seems to pass along to most of his calves making them easy to handle. His bulls and heifer calves have a lot of growth and some of our higher weaning weights come from him. He also calves very well with moderate birthweights and smooth shoulders that cows deliver easily. Overall he is working well for us.

His weaning weight was over 1000 lbs this fall and he is a big, thick boy with lots of performance and growth. This guy has the size and power but also a good birth weight and was born unassisted. He’s smooth through the front with a nice temperament too. The dam comes from a family of cows all with very good udder structures that hold up perfectly over the years. He’s always caught our eyes with his dark red coloring. His dam was one of Gerd’s favorite cows as she was just gorgeous to look at. Very thick and smooth, also fully goggled and cherry red. She’s a very structurally sound black female out of a 10 year old D cow who is also still on the farm and calved in January this year. The KWA Mountain bull in the pedigree was one of our heifer bulls for quite a few years as well. He made tremendous females for us.

Homozygous Polled Purebred, Non Dilutor: Navy is another typical Rattler son. Born unassisted from a powerful cow, her heifer calf was 102 lbs this year. The Glow 58G cow has provided us with a few bulls for our sales over the years and she’s a lady with a nice frame size. Another of our typical Cayenne daughters. Combining her with Rattler is the best of both worlds.
