It is with excitement we invite you the Home Coming Edition of our Spring Select Simmental Bull and Female Sale! For our 13th annual sale, we are nally bringing the venue home to the ranch in our new sales facility on March 7th at 4:30PM MST, with dinner and a social to follow! We will once again utilize a video sale format, hosted by DLMS.ca to minimize handling stress on the animals, and provide a more spacious pen viewing arrangement for assessing animals throughout the day.
Our 2026 o ering of bulls is as consistent as we have raised, with temperament, longevity, and e ciency built and bred into each animal. Calving ease options are in abundance this year both in phenotype and on paper with several animals EPD’s being above average in all traits. Consistency across all sire groups is intact, and new additions from IPU 178J Top Tier, and FTF Louie 556L are very impressive. With an abundance of replacement females in our keeper pen, new for this year is an o ering of open replacement heifers sold in groups as commercial females. is is a unique opportunity to acquire a sampling of the maternal traits we enjoy in our herd. We believe in genetic testing and quality data collection/reporting, and personally use these EPD’s to make educated and informed decisions in the investments we make when procuring new animals for our herd. To this point all data points are religiously collected throughout the respective reporting periods, and all bulls are genetic tested for PV, Homo Poll, Dilution, and Homo Black as applicable for the speci c animal.
e cattle industry is built on relationships, and our business depends on repeat customers, who frequently become good friends. We are an honest and consistent family-based producer, hinging on ranch-based principles applied to all aspects of our seedstock program. We raise real world cattle grown on bush range with very little tame grass access. e cattle are built hard, and cope with tough terrain, weather and heavy predator loading. Temperament, feet, legs and udders are all in tact in the cow herd, and we ruthlessly cull each year to ensure this is the case. We don’t trim feet. All animals have been worked o horse back, and are familiar with that program. Cattle are worth record value and your investments in seedstock demand return. For this reason, longevity is top of mind when developing our animals; we strive to provide an animal that will work for many seasons, eventually retiring for the same or near value that you initially invested. You will nd fatter bulls on the sale trail this spring, but FTF animals will go to work, hold their shape, and last. We pail feed bulls a pellet and barley mix daily (12-15lbs), and use our TMR for a silage/straw blend that is bunk fed, to ensure a high roughage/ bre diet, sure not to damage bull’s structural integrity in the crucial development months.

His namesake is for Jamie’s Brother-inlaw who came up with his wife Jess last winter at the onset of calving when I was down in the ICU for a week… He was sure the old at rock female was calving for a good week straight so we absolutely had to name the calf a er him! Hitting the ground in a chilli winter December day at 76lbs, Mammoth never looked back in his growth curve, clipping right along with his fantastic rst calf heifer authenticator momma. Likely one of the longest spined bulls in the pen, 189M has style and substance throughout, and like all of his brothers, the temperament is fantastic! Our boys (9, 10, and 13 years old) pail feed the bulls each evening, quite o en on their own, and 195M is rst up for a visit with them. He is a gentle and even-tempered animal but all bull in his make with a nice long spine, ample muscling, and the smooth front third we are coming to see in all of the Louie progeny. His dam FTF 5K is one of my favorites in that class, going back to a cornerstone female in our herd 143B. Good momma’s with great bags and awesome feet run deep in this pedigree.

Polled Purebred. Dilution Free. My personal favorite Louie son, and one admired to date by all who have been through the bull pen. Mighty is a real looker, and the sort of heifer pen candidate bull that doesn’t give up an inch in his makeup as a bull. He has the smoothness required to calve with ease, but a top and quarter on him that is very competitive with a more performance-oriented model. His markings are nearly perfect, and as I write this, I realize there are several Louie sons with appearance so similar it would be hard to tell who is who without tags on. I would hope for his calves to be as consistent, and coming from his rst calf heifer half fullblood momma cow, the maternal is programmed in. She is a perfect uddered heavy milking female with her own beautiful blaze face, and again goes back to the aforementioned FTF 4A cow family. Mighty’s EPD spread is just that, boasting top 3% in CE and 10% in BW!

Tank is naturally a really friendly Louie son, that grew into a real buddy over the winter-feeding season. He is a frame size larger than his other Louie brothers, but exhibits all the same calving ease attributes we strive to develop in calving ease sire options. Peanut butter is a full-blown pet, but she is also a great mother cow. She has a perfect udder, foot and leg set, and is a really hardy made girl, even when thrown in the bush a er all the shows!

His dam was Rhett’s Junior Cattlemen project last year with Nikko at side, and Rhett took home Grand Champion for this pair, with a lot of extra emphasis judged on this calf. His pedigree is absolutely stacked, and one that astute cattlemen should study: Missile, Darlin, Walk the Line, Venom, Statement, Shamrock…wow – it isn’t too o en you see them stacked in there like that. is bull is a real heifer pen prospect and one that has the pedigree to
back his EPD’s up. We always hope for heifers when buying bred’s so we can enjoy some of the maternal outcross potential in our herd, and we are sure excited to see what is in store for Noble at his new ranch. His dam is a solid built girl, with lots of middle and great legs, carrying a lot of common features to the other Walk the Line progeny out working in industry.

A Mr. Jones calf here with a near perfect blaze face, 219M has the qualities associated with calving ease. He has a silky-smooth front third and small skull, with a nice middle on him that is really developing. His dam’s rst outing was in some of the most extreme pasture conditions we have exposed our females to, and she took it all in stride. Being a Daredevil, back to the old Apricot cow, hardiness is drilled in, so do-ability should pass on through with 219M.

Our rst set of calves o a new Top Tier walking sire we purchased from the great folks at LaBatte Simmentals, are sure to draw attention on sale day. ey are very uniform in make, and will likely be a challenge to write unique descriptions for as they are so similar. Maddox leads this set o and he is a very nice red bull, with lots of top, quarter and hair. He is a well-suited bull for a northern range where miles matter as he moves extremely well. Maddox is a group sort of bull that always respects you, waiting his turn at the trough when pail feeding, but isn’t coming for a scratch. e dam to 203M is a rock-solid blaze female that has a great udder, and traces back to one of our legacy black cows 111B, that was picture perfect.
Homo Polled Purebred. Dilutor. 223M is a cranker of a red bull loaded with hair, top and style. He is extra long and soggy, travelling out on an awesome dark foot. His BW to Act WW to YW spread is very uniform and is a testament to how he converts feed no matter what the source. Our summer was lean on grass early on, and we were short on acres where the bull pairs summered so the picking got slim for sure, and he was able to make it happen. His dam is a beautiful blaze female that has a square foot and udder.

Marshall has it going on, and just carries that big middle and extra rib seamlessly. e top and quarter built into these calves regardless of the dam is sure cool. I really admire this pedigree as the 542F cow just makes the calves right and raises them in all conditions. I spoke about a daughter of her’s previously and I will reiterate that the maternal, milking ability, and structural soundness are baked into the bloodline.

Notice has a great top in him, and a correct stance, with lots of depth with good width through his heart. On the dam side, 970K is a full sister to the dam on lot 37. Same great maternal strength built into this bull, with generations of longevity.

We cross our fullblood genetics frequently into our purebred herd for some outcross and vigor potential, and 299N sure got the upside. His beautiful liver red haircoat and at top stretch to a nice round quarter. His is smooth and long, in the right spots, indicating a good calving ease candidate. e dam side of his pedigree is held in high regard with the old 12U in the background, and one of my all time favorite red purebred, 45Z (an Upstart female). e consistency, longevity, and maternal prowess built into this bull, really sets him apart.

Polled Purebred. Dilution Free. Maverick is a tank. He is thick, deep, big barreled, and correct. is has been Jamie’s pen favorite since birth. Like his previous brothers sired by Madden, the temperament and haircoat are fantastic in 209M. ese bulls are made to go out into the most rugged pasture conditions and get the job done. Excellent feet and legs are hallmarks of the Madden sons. Maternal strength is an understatement when analysing this bloodline, with the big liver red Tymarc 91G female backing the bottom side. On the EPD front, they don’t get much better, with above average traits in all departments. Take a long look at this bull on sale day.

Nash’s old red 401D cow did it again, with yet another dark red bull calf making catalogue. 275N is likely the darkest red bull we have on o er, and could likely enter the contest for the longest spine. Ribs that stretch for miles, and a long clean front third, makes me think this guy will add some pounds to a calf crop. Really great dark feet and nice leg set attributed from both sire and dam, are certainly some traits I would think will propagate to a replacement pen. With our boys doing a lot of the pail feeding on their own each night, there truly isn’t a bull in the pen that has a temperament of concern, but 275N would t best in a group, as he isn’t coming for scratches at the feed truck.

We lost Madden a couple summer’s ago, so this is his nal calf crop, and your last chance at some straightforward honest fullblood genetics that just plain work.
With our herd growing and the replacement heifer pen bigger than ever, we have decided to group 3 lots of 3-4 similarly coloured females on o er in this year’s sale. Our entire herd is registered Simmental stock, so these ladies are all purebreds that will be selling as commercial replacements to provide our commercial customers with an opportunity to access our maternal traits in bulk packages. e heifers have all been developed in a group, with strict Total Herd health protocol, and grown on an oat silage/haylage TMR blend, with extra roughage via fescue a ermath. We want these cattle to work for many years, so longevity is top of mind in our replacement pen, and level headed temperament is a must. Our pen is deep in quality and very uniform this year, so at the time of catalogue print we still can’t decide exactly which ladies will be on o er. is is a good sign for the prospective purchasers as the groups will be high quality, and very hard for us to part with.

All Fallen Timber Farms cattle follow a strict herd health vaccination protocol, with the following administered according to age. Horned animals are dehorned at birth, and any regrowth addressed at again at branding/weaning/yearling. Feet are le in their natural condition to provide buyers an opportunity to appraise shape for themselves. All bulls are palpated, semen checked and health assessed by a certi ed veterinary doctor.
