If you are unable to attend the sale but are interested in bulls, give the consignors a call and they will personally go over the bulls and your program and recommend bulls that would meet your needs and refer you to one of the sale staff who will represent your needs in a professional and confidential manner.

100% GUARANTEE

All bulls are guaranteed to be satisfactory breeders in accordance with CSA guidelines. Should a problem occur barring physical injury or mismanagement, a bull of equal value will be provided or a credit will be issued towards the purchase of another bull. We guarantee you will have a bull to service your cows.

HEALTH AND FERTILITY

All bulls will have a scrotal measurement and a vet examination done prior to the sale. All bulls over 12 months of age will also be semen tested; any bulls under 12 months of age will return to the seller’s farm to be tested after the sale. These bulls will be delivered once a semen test has been passed. All bulls have been treated with Ivomec and have current vaccinations. Contact the breeder for specific herd health programs.

BULL DEVELOPMENT & DELIVERY

The Southwest Showcase consignors will keep bulls free of charge until May 1st, 2026. Buyers need to insure the bulls while being cared for by the consignors.

Option A

Bulls can be picked up at Heartland Livestock sale day and a $200 discount will be deducted from the sale price

Option B

At the buyer’s option and risk, the bulls can be returned to the consignor’s farm and picked up anytime at the buyer’s convenience.

Option C

Please make arrangements with the consignor if trucking is required.

EPD EXPLANATION

EPDs are “Expected Progeny Differences”. They are a useful tool in selection. EPDs incorporate the individual animal with its averaged ancestry performance. EPDs do not compare across cattle breeds, they are individually based per breed. EPDs indicate a probable variance above or below breed average for that trait for a given bull’s progeny. Use them for guidance in the direction you want your herd to go. With the release of the BOLT system, data is transmitted to the evaluation weekly and new results are loaded weekly. This means that averages and percentiles are subject to ongoing change. Please use the CSA website for the most up to date and accurate averages and percentile rank infomation. EPDs for this catalogue were taken on February 10.

Your belief in our program allows us to do what we love every day, and we are beyond grateful to you all for that. The cow and her maternal abilities will always be the focus of our program. We have really focused on lowering gestation, adding length of body, and in some cases, frame, to our herd; We feel this is really starting to reflect in our bull offering.

8N will be one of the best bulls we’ve ever put up for sale. He’s long as a freight train, has incredible width of top, volume, is extended in his neck, is clean made, has a massive, heavy muscled hip, and he just keeps getting better. His ease of fleshing reminds us so much of his Sire. His moderate framed, heavy milking dam is super correct with excellent feet. She weaned off 72% of her BW with 8N and she has 1 daughter in herd. 8N’s numbers are off the charts. His low gestation of only 279 days (ave for dam on 3 calves) combined with having the highest WW, YW, AYW, YADG, YWPDA, 2ND for WADG & WPDA, 3RD for AWW. YADG index of 144. Another big, strong topped, long bodied, masculine, “Formidable” son. His dam is a fancy “Black Hawk” daughter with an superb uddered “Walk The Line” daughter in herd that was part of our show team as a calf. 53N is another high performing Formidable son, he ranked 2nd for YW, AYW & YWPDA, 3RD YADG, 4th WW and his EPDs support his growth and quiet nature - EPDs TOP 1% YW, CW, 2%REA, 5%WW, 10%DOC, 25%TI. We’ve loved this bull from day 1. Fluid in his movement, he has a natural herd bull character that makes him easy to find in the pen. Soggy, easy fleshing, and docile, 66N has a lot going for him. His dam’s first calf was an impressive heifer bull that sold to Wadella Ranch. She is a moderate cow with her dam’s sound makeup and udder quality. She weaned off a whopping 65% of her body weight with 66N. Grandam has a flawless udder and is an ideal cow both in looks and production. She had the 2nd high seller to Weiss Cattle Co Ltd at last year’s sale. 66N ranked 3rd WW, 4th AWW, WADG, WWPDA, 5th YW. EPDs TOP 2%CW, 10%YW, MARB, API, TI, 15%STAY, 20%WW, 25%DOC. A truly special bull that should produce both high performing offspring and quality daughters.

Another standout “Formidable” son. Liver red, big swooping rib cage, deep through his heart and flank, and so wide topped. His moderate framed dam is a knockout, a favorite of visitors. Tons of milk maintaining a picture-perfect udder, and ideal teat size. She’s moderate but powerful boasting a massive rib cage. She has 2 daughters in herd, 37K with a son in the sale lot 6, 147M part of our show team as a calf. Both have her dam’s exquisite udder quality. She also had a son sell to Corbin Selody.163N was 5th for YWPDA and EPDs TOP 1%CW, 5%YW & REA, 10%WW. This guy would be good in any color, but the money stripe doesn’t hurt. He’ll add maternal quality without sacrificing performance.

184N has style to burn. He’s so long spined, strong topped, extended in his neck, bold in his hip, and has great hair. His broody, big volume dam, is out of Sarah 62A (the dam of Formidable). As a 2-yearold, 203G produced a wicked “Alliance” son that sold to Brylor Ranch, and had another good son sell to Dahl Farms. 184N has above average performance with EPDs TOP 1%WW, YW, 3%REA, 4%CW. When we were looking at taking a red pen of bulls to show, this guy was definitely in the mix.

Bigger framed, stylish, heavy-haired. I’d be lying if I said we were hoping for a bull out of this mating. His dam is a gorgeous “Cash” daughter whose only fault is she won’t give us a daughter! She produced a standout “Formidable” son as a 2-year-old that sold to L.P Farms. Liver red, big barreled, wide in his hooks and pins, with a money stripe to boot. We’ve really liked the phenotype on these “Loyalty” sired cattle. 73N is out of a big bodied, nicely put together, “Esquire” daughter. Esquire is a bull we raised here that we wish we could’ve used a lot more. His daughters are beyond special and have produced more than a few sale toppers. If you’re wanting to add some blazes to your herd, this guy should do that and add some look to his progeny too. HOMO POLLED

Grandam was the mother of “Astute” the $50,000 high seller through this sale. 139N ranked 3rd of the red bulls for AYW & YWPDA, 4TH YADG and has performance EPDs to back that up - TOP 4%CW, 5%WW, 10%YW & REA. Super long, good natured bull out of our reliable Donor Tumbler 107D. She had a standout feature “Loyalty” son that we showed year (sold to Diamond A Farms) and a wicked good “Tycoon” daughter in herd that is an absolute beauty. His sire was the high seller out of Lewis’ Sale. We have very little semen left on 813Y and we use it very selectively. 41N Ranked 3rd YW and 5th for WW and has good performance EPDs TOP 15%WW, 20%YW & CW. A big bull with tons of potential.

A lower birth weight, well balanced, heavy haired bull, out of a moderate, heavy milking, good footed “Express” daughter. Another grandson of Formidable’s dam, Sarah 62A. Liner 215A is a 56U son whose progeny are known to be highly maternal. We have an outstanding young 215A daughter in herd that has already had a top selling son in this sale. EPDs TOP 10% STAY.

HEIFER BULL. Moderate framed, smooth, balanced, and stylish, with good muscling, loads of hair, and a small attractive skull. His dam is another daughter of the great Sarah 62A (grandam to 9 bulls in this sale) and “Motley” who put so many feature bulls through this sale and is known for his standout, sound, and excellent footed progeny. 35K is an absolute sweetheart. Her first son also was a heifer safe bull that sold to Barb Gabruch and was made a lot like this bull. 119N had a gestation of only 280 days (average for dam on 3 calves is 279), and 72 lbs. birth weight out of a mature cow. An incredible spread on his EPDs from calving ease to performance - TOP 2%YW, CW, & REA, 3%WW & TI, 10%MCE, 15%CE, BW, 20%API. Pretty neat calving ease prospect here. HOMO POLLED

HEIFER BULL. Dark red (nondiluter), deep, clean made, stylish, heavy haired, small attractive skull, good muscling, and best of all, a gorgeous, sweet natured dam. 255L was shown as a calf at CWA and she keeps getting better. Exceptional udder quality, with small, perfectly square, teat placement, sweet front-end, and bold sweeping rib cage. Grandam was 2nd in class at CWA as a calf and a member of our Champion Pen of Heifers at MHPS. If we keep going back, every cow on the maternal side in his pedigree has put forth so many quality cattle that consistently make the show pen or top sales. 1N ranked 5th for YADG, had a gest. of 271 days and a 68 lbs. birth weight. Calving ease EPDs back that up - TOP 1%CE, BW, & API, 2%TI, 4%MCE, 15%YW & MARB, 25%WW.

Good natured, smooth made, moderate, dark red son of “Birdie 14L” who was shown at side of the many time Champion Tango 28H, our daughter’s 4H project. 28H went undefeated during her show career as a heifer, 2 yr old and 3yr old cow. Sired by “Top Tier” and going back to 28H, this bull doesn’t have a blaze but he may throw it. 2N had a 68 lbs. birth weight, gestation of only 275 days and EPDs TOP 3%CE, 4%BW, 20%MCE, 25%API. This bull is just so cool, well made, and one you find easy in the pen. The first son to sell out of our “Cavalier” bull that was used to clean-up our heifer pen. Maternal sister to dam had the high seller (heifer bull) last year to Greenvalley Ranch Ltd. and Grandam had the 3rd high seller to Diamond K Cattle Co. 249N ranked 1st AWW, 3RD WADG & WPDA. Big volume and easy fleshing as they come. Sire “Great Western” had our most impressive sire group in last year’s sale. 252N will be the only son offered out of him this year, due to an injury he sustained during breeding, but he will be collected. Dam 180K is an absolute tank “Tycoon” daughter with the typical, quality udder provided by both “Natalia” and “Tycoon”. Her maternal sister has a son in the sale lot 20. 252N had an 89 lbs. birth weight and EPDs top 10%DOC, 25%WW. HOMO POLLED

Strong topped, big sweeping rib cage, heavy haired and super masculine, perhaps the best thing about this fella is his dark red, angular, feminine, wedge shaped, nice uddered dam. A visitor favorite, she has a cookie cutter, 2-year-old, “Formidable” daughter that just entered production we are very excited about. Sire “Kryptonite” has great calving ease and is a direct son of Ashworth’s Ms Rock 14X donor. EPDs TOP 10%STAY, 20%DOC, 25%BW, CW. HOMO POLLED

259N is very long bodied, smooth as silk, has a round, deep quarter, and is so attractive, it’s hard to believe he is just an end of February calf. His moderate framed, beautiful uddered “Roosevelt” dam has a “Formidable” daughter that is stamped exactly the same as her and 1 son that sold to Braun Land and Cattle. Grandam is a heavy milking “Renegade” daughter that was Champion at side of Reggie 156D, Isabella’s 1st 4H project. 156D has never been defeated in a show ring. 259N ranked 1st of the red bulls for WADG, WWPDA, 2ND AWW. Too young at YW to adjust, but this guy’s performance is huge for his age and has great EPDs TOP 1%YW, 2%WW,3%CW, 4%MWWT, REA, 10%TI. If you’re looking to add performance, without sacrificing maternal, this guy is the ticket. HOMO POLLED

Dark red and smooth made, his extended length from hook to pins carries down into a deep, heavy muscled quarter. Prairie King really stamps his sons, and we couldn’t be happier with him. 196N is a close replica of his sire and has a disposition second to none. 60G is a big, heavy milking cow, that had a son sell to Dahl Farms. 196N has EPDs TOP 1%CW, 10%YW, STAY, REA, 15%WW, MWWT.

Absolute tank. Not sure if we’ve ever sold an April born bull in this sale before, but 281N is a great place to start. Wide based, with extra volume, huge top, massive hip, and boasting a mere 82 lbs. birth weight, more than likely from his “Epic” sired dam. 281N is very similar in type to his tanky “Express” Grandam. His Great Grandam had the leadoff bull in this sale a few years ago to Camden Cattle and Great Great Grandam is the Matriarch donor Isabella 3U. Ranked 1st AWW but too young at time of yearling to adjust. Rest assured, his performance is off the charts and typical of this Prairie King sire group. He is way above average for all EPDs TOP 3%TI, 4%WW, MWWT, 5%YW, 10%DOC, 20%API, 25%MCE. This baby’s got back – pedigree, performance, and a$$. HOMO POLLED

Long, smooth, and clean made, like most Prairie King progeny, this bull has even more look, and although they are a sound footed sire group as a whole, this bull is exceptional. He comes by it honestly. His 12-year-old dam has absolutely perfect feet. She was Champion Cow with bull calf at RPS last fall with 251N at side and the buzz around how good she was, especially at her age, was pretty cool. She’s had sons sell to Tony Page and DAA Enterprises and 2 full sisters by Tycoon in herd, one with a son in the sale Lot 28. 251N was the Junior Champion Bull at CWA last fall and a member of our pen of bulls at the MHPS. He ranked 1st of blacks for AWW, WADG, WWPDA and AYW of 1520. He has EPDs TOP 1%WW, YW, CW, 3%MWWT, 10%REA, TI. If longevity, maternal, and performance are important to you, he’s the one. Something a little different here. Our first SimAngus bull on offer, a dark red ¾ blood. Sired by the half blood Six Mile Redwood, and out of a very strong purebred first calf heifer we purchased from Canadian Donors. Her style, presence and dark red traits have transferred over to her first eye appealing son. He is very sound and smooth while travelling, and will leave an excellent set of daughters. We are very proud of this years offering. From the high end calving ease bulls, to the power bulls designed to sire those big, high dollar calves for you and some bulls that fit right in the middle. We are confident a bull can be found to fill all needs.

Our bulls are hand fed Bullseye pelleted ration twice daily, along with free choice chopped crested wheat hay. These bulls are fed to be grown out, not fattened. If you are in our area or feel like going for a drive, we would be happy to tour you through the bull pen and take you out to see the dams.

■ 8N himself has a bit more frame and length, heavy muscling, and lots of timber under him. A true performance bull.
