First and foremost, we want to sincerely thank everyone who attended last year’s sale — our loyal repeat customers, new buyers, bidders, and all of those who have supported and shown interest in our program over the years. Your continued confidence means a great deal to us.

We would like to give a warm welcome to Bohrson Marketing and Dean Edge for partnering with us this year, and big thank you to DLMS for their outstanding service, as well as Johnstone Auction Mart for hosting us. We are also incredibly grateful to our crew at home and everyone who has helped throughout the year. It truly takes a team to make a day like today possible.

This year, we are proud to offer one of the strongest and deepest groups of bulls we’ve ever brought to town — a set designed to meet the needs of every producer. The lineup includes Solid Reds, Red Baldies, Blacks, and Fullblood bulls. Also this year we have a select group of females for offering.

These bulls are built with purpose — full of muscle, performance, structural soundness, strong testicles, good hair, and excellent disposition. They are backed by hardworking, functional females from the top end of our herd.

Our development program focuses on longevity and functionality. The bulls were raised on tame hay south of the farm until they were pulled from breeding. They then moved to the valley, where they spent the summer and fall months on native prairie, walking the hills and developing naturally until weaning. They were on creep feed beginning in late August until weaning in October. After weaning, they are developed on high-quality hay and a 16% Bullseye bull developer pellet.

Through AI, we have continued to strengthen our genetics. This year represents our first group of Rancher, Lethal Weapon sons, on the red and black side. Along with a with a solid group of full and half sibling flush mates, sired by Synergy, Outlook and Reputation, all out of CLN0 54H for the full bloods.

I am proud of the bulls I have put together for this year‘s sale. I think they have a lot to offer, everything from power and performance bulls, to maternal traits, to a wide variety of calving ease bulls. They have been fed a high oat and dry hay ration to promote growth and longevity.

The Simmental Bulls are as uniform and consistent in type and kind as you will find anywhere. The Curtis Simmentals operation strategically utilizes the best possible ai bulls they can and mates those bulls to a certain sire group of cows to breed some uniformity into their bull pen to give their valued customers the opportunity to select closely related bulls. This has proven to work out just as they planned because each bull that you analyze carries the same depth of body, heavy hair coat and easy fleshing look as the one previous. Whether you are after a red, black or Fullblood Simmental bull, the Curtis pen will have you covered in many performance or calving ease options. They have also dug extremely deep into their replacement pen to bring you some exceptional quality to choose from to give you a chance to start a new cow family of your own and this also gives you some great insight as to what maternal merit their bulls have to offer. Laird Edwards’ good Angus program is backed by many years of ai breeding and the bulls are backed by a super productive, fault free, easy doing cowherd. These Angus bulls are made up of just 4 sire groups again giving you many options at 1/2 or 3/4 brothers. The Angus bulls are quiet and easy to handle and possess great hair and strong breed character.

Her dam 75L did a fantastic job on her first calf 99N. 75L was the stand out all summer at our place of the Walk The Line daughters.. She’s feminine sound, broody and has an awesome udder under her.

Edwards Gable 57N is one of the most complete bulls I have raised to date. He is long spinned, square hipped, deep quartered and deep ribbed. He is big nutted, with good feet all in an attractive light birth weight package. His dam is a beautiful Bar E L Natural Law X Final Kahuna daughter that will add a ton of maternal.

Here is another calving ease bull with lots of depth, thickness and performance, raised by a two year old heifer. Get the best of both worlds with these Gables, light birth weight without sacrificing any payweight.

EDWARDS GABLE 250N

If you want to add length and thickness to your calf crop have a look here. He is probably the longest body, biggest topped, quietist bull in the pen. He has had that impressive herd bull look to him from an early age. One of the best things about this bull is his two year old dam. She is an impressive looking cow that is stacked with great cow families. Her great grand dam is the MAR Final Kahuna 856 cow that is also the dam of Genex’s top selling semen seller MAR Innovation. There’s also the famous Youngdale Grace cow that one could write a novel on all she has accomplished. I really like this bull

EDWARDS GABLE 322N

It’s hard to believe EDW 322N is a calving ease bull raised by a first calf heifer. He has all the depth, thickness, muscle and dimension one could ask for. Have your cake and eat it too with these Gabel sons, light birthweight, lots of performance.

I have been extremely pleased with my Gable calves and EDW 624N is a great example. He is smooth made with lots of length, hair and muscle, another impressive bull raised by a two year old heifer. If I was looking for a bull to put with my heifers, I wouldn’t look any further.

This is one heck of a herd sire prospect here. A little extra frame with all the length, thickness and power one could want. He is heavy haired with good feet and legs and is athletic in his movement. His mother is a gorgeous, heavy milking, Bar E L Natural Law daughter that I love to show everyone who comes around. she has raised the top bull in the pen every year since I got her and this year is no exception.

Edwards Mercury 21N is a high gaining bull that is attractive, heavy muscled, and powerfully constructed. His Brooking dam is a powerful, tanky female that stays fat all year round. Lots of depth of rib, flank and lower quarter here.
