RSK Farms and Rideau Angus Farms are operations that continually move their programs forward while remaining firmly grounded in the fundamentals that matter. Welcome to the 14th Annual RSK RAF Elite Genetics Online Production Sale. This year is about highlighting a tradition that we aim to continue in offering some of Manitoba’s best Hereford and Black Angus Genetics. I often wonder why we, in the cattle industry work so hard and put everything we have into this lifestyle and way of life. The early mornings, long days and sleepless nights; it’s a long journey. Why? Because we love doing what we do. We love watching the newborn calf grow, watching the cows on pasture thrive. We love seeing all of our planning, decisions and choices evolve into something great. We love the family bonds that are created and enjoy talking with customers, partners, neighbors and mentors. At the end of the day it is mighty rewarding in so many ways and it is fun. I was once told, “If you don’t have fun doing it, then it was a waste of a day.” We are very proud about this years offering as it has combined many big and great choices over the last years into a tremendous set of cattle. We are always on the hunt for new and exciting genetics and the addition of Peak Dot Rectify 80N, Harvie Exclusive 43M and Stellpflug Next Step will add some new genetics, growth and excitement to our programs. Add in the predictability of proven sires like RSK Command 91H, NJW Balance 207H and W Sunrise Executive 4J and it makes a recipe for success. The females in this years sale are packed with consistency and marketability. The bred heifers are carrying service to exciting new sires. Stellpflug Next Step on the Hereford side and Peak Dot Rectify 80N on the Angus side. As always we will offer a select set of frozen embryos by our most sought after donors, with maternal and full sibling live lots in the sale. The consistency and merit of each of the females offered represent the value in the great genetics we strive to produce year after year. oooohhh Princess..... We have been waiting a LONG time for this special heifer calf. The day she hit the ground Jess and I both agreed she wasn't slated for the sale, but after much interest and consideration she leads off this year’s Hereford offering!!! We always felt she was special but after being named Heifer Calf Champion and then going on to be Reserve Champion Overall Female at the MB Hereford field day this summer, paired with the response we received from our fellow breeders and peers we knew our gut was right on this one! Her full sister was purchased by Harvie Ranching a few years ago and campaigned extremely successfully as a two year old that fall for them. Sunshine 24K does it again!! The Double Down x Command combo just clicks so incredibly well. Abundance of power, stretch and size. She’s super long and so solid from the ground up. Beautiful haired and would make an excellent show heifer this fall and next year as a bred. Her mother is on our short list of young cows to start flushing next spring as she continuously produces year after year. The “Third Sister” that I never wanted to part with, which is why she leads off this exciting Angus section. We have always been firm believers that we offer our very best. In 2024 we campaigned her flush sister CAP 55M as a calf, where she continuously came out of class and hunted for division titles and was later purchased that fall by Anita Doktor for $60,000. Then came CAP 91N her second flush sister who was the talk of the Jr. heifer calf division last fall winning banners every time she entered the ring and later sold in the Angus Collection sale for $35,000 to the Perrot Family. 87N was never shown like the other two as she was always meant to be retained in the herd because we feel she might be the best cow of all three sisters. Only a March female and bred up early. We are also crazy enough to offer a pack of 3 full sib embryo's because why wouldn't you want the chance to have 3 pasture front females like these in your program. Full sib embryos sell as lot 24! We hunted long and hard this spring to find a calving ease bull to suit our program. We were thrilled when the hammer fell and we could welcome PEAK DOT RECTIFY 80N to our Angus Division. This will be your FIRST and ONLY chance to get your hands on some semen on RECTIFY for next years breeding semen. Extremely low BW and a YW index of 130, super sound and well structured foot ( top 4% in the breed for hoof claw epd), more of an outcross pedigree for our program and boy, is ever easy on the eyes when he's on the move and strikes a pose.
