Once again, I am very pleased to be working with the Stigings to present their 8th Annual Bull Sale. This family is very hard working one with one goal in mind: to produce very functional cattle to raise for themselves and their bull customers. Last year’s sale was the best ever and this year with the cattle industry where it is should continue along those lines.
Riverside Angus is a program that continues to go in the right direction acquiring top end herd sires to go with their strong foundation cow herd. The consistency in the line up brought to town shows this exact statement. The bulls are fed in a large pen with do ability and exercise kept in mind. These bulls travel well while having the size and haircoats we all desire. Please do make an attempt to go see the bulls before the sale at the farm.

On behalf of everyone here at Riverside I would like to welcome you to our 8th Annual Bull Sale, April 14th, at the Innisfail Auction Market. As a family we had an amazing 2025 Logan and Roseanna got married on August 16th and Taylor and Rowley October 4th, Terry and I are so proud of all our kids and how hard they work. Both weddings were amazing parties led by Kaylee who is getting married this summer. Thank you to all our family and friends who travelled for both weddings we are so happy you were all there to share the kids special days with them.
It truly is an incredible time to be a part of the cattle business as we continue to see record prices for our cattle the optimism continues to grow, we are very proud to be a part of this industry. As breeders we continue to strive to bring the absolute best to town and this year is no different, we are excited about this year’s offering, that will also see the addition of the Simmental division. Logan and Roseanna have started a small Simmental herd, they have aligned themselves with the purchases from elite Simmental breeders such as Mader Ranches, South Paw Cattle Company, MAAV Farms & Westway Farms. These females will be the corner stone of their program.
Our Embryo and AI programs continue to gather momentum we can offer more genetics other than our elite walking sires; this will be the last year for sons from HF Spittin’ Image 165J. Our home raised sire Riverside Major 130L has sired an outstanding group of bulls with moderate birth weights and explosive wean weights, they were our heaviest weaning group of bulls, all but 1 out of first calf heifers.
The Black and Red herds continue to gather momentum. We are extremely proud of the mama cows in both herds; they are honest and hard working. They exhibit the traits we find very important easy fleshing, sound of foot and exceptional udders. The bull pen expresses all these traits.
The bulls are fed a TMR ration consisting of Barley Pea Silage, straw and barley with a specific mineral premix that matches their needs specifically. The bulls are raised in a large pen with plenty of room to move a naturally develop muscle. The bulls will be semen tested and vaccinated with Bovesheild Gold and 8-way prior to the sale.
The bull pen is officially open, and we invite you to tour the bulls and their mamas, anytime. We love to visit with past and future customers anytime. The coffee is always hot, and the beer is always cold and visitors are always welcome.

This guy has been a standout since birth. His sire, Montana Judgment 1038, is making a name for himself as one of the best female makers in the industry. Very similar to the 333N bull. A heifer safe option whose dam is ideal in her look. A full sister to 030N’s dam sold to Chittick Farms in the Ladies of the West bred heifer sale. All of the Major sons have a fantastic amount of muscle.

We could write a long story about what the Ina cow family has done in our herd. Every one who tours our herd in the summer will pick out the Ina’s first. They have beautiful udders and are very productive. Just like all of the Spitting image sons, this guy is deep bodied with loads of hair. We had looked for No Doubt semen for years and when we finally got our hands on some we knew exactly what cow we were going to flush him too. A few years ago we rolled into Farm Fair with four direct 538C offspring in our string, one of which was the high selling heifer calf in Red Round Up that fall, purchased by Wilbar Cattle Co. Turns out we were stalled tail to tail with the Wilbar crew, and they had this bull in their stall that I fell in love with; Wilbar Hennessy 3K. He had everything that the Red Angus breed needs: bone, depth and a big sound foot. This was the perfect mating for Marta 538C. 518N is correct from every angle, with added muscle and depth all wrapped up in a modest birth weight package. He is dark red with a dark foot, and with a dam like 538C you will never want to sell a daughter out of him.

If you are looking for a bull to breed some docility into your cows this guy will surely do it. His dam had a very successful career in the show ring and is now making a name for herself in our donor pen. Her bull in last year’s sale was sold to Scott Anderson, who sells nearly 600 bred females annually in December at the Innisfail Auction Mart. We are using 533N’s brother heavily in our AI program. If you’ve got a set of heifers to breed and want to put some flash in your calves take a look at this guy.
This guy is as smooth fronted as they come, if you’ve got bigger heifers don’t shy away from him. We used a maternal brother of his on our heifers a few years back with great success. He then went on to be our high selling two year old bull to Cory Marshall.

A sleep through the night heifer bull. 516’s sire is an impressive son of Marta 538C that we sold to Edgar Farms in 2024. We were fortunate enough to walk him with our heifers for a cycle the last two springs. We got to see a big sample of steers sired by him last fall. They were impressive and had the buyers drooling over them.
A personal favorite of mine in the pen. Dark cherry red with a real herd bull look. This guy has a very good foot under him. Last fall, I went down to the Yarrow Creek Dispersal and hand picked a few cows and we are sure happy with how they have turned out.

This guy has a pretty neat pedigree. The year we bought the Marta 538C cow, we wanted this guy’s dam that day as well, and unfortunately couldn’t get her bought. When I saw embryos out of her in Red Round Up I knew I had to get them bought, honestly hoping for a couple heifers, but we ended up with this guy and he’s darn good. A very good heifer bull option with a solid weaning weight and loads of depth.
