HOW TO PARTICIPATE ON DLMS FARMGATE

1. Visit www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.

2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.

3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.

4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding for 5 minute if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after 6 PM will extend the sale by 5 minutes from the time of that bid. When no bidding occurs for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished.

5. Within 24 hours of the sale close the OBI and DLMS will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot.

If you require assistance with using the new DLMS Farm Gate web site, if you don’t understand how to create a favorites list, if you can’t figure out the proxy bid or you just plain want to bid via phone, please talk to any of the DLMS team or Sale Consignors.

WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE SALE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORK? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

Cophenhagen 98J has truly been a game changer for us. His influence is evident in the consistency, quality and functionality of the cattle he’s sired. He is setting a new standard for calving ease and performance in our program. He stamps his calves with balance, sound structure and added muscle while maintaining a practical problem – free design. He passes his cherry red color onto his calves and it is easy to tell who they are between the other calves. With a big majority of this years calves on the ground already we see a pattern in his calves. They are born easily, they get up quickly and nurse right away. This all reinforces our confidence in Cophenhagen and the direction he will take our program and your program in the future.

Lund 337L was purchased from Pohl Land & Cattle to breed our heifers. Lund has added foot quality, excellent structure and calving ease. His calves exhibit fast growth and adequate power.

EAY 3337L - January 22, 2023 - Reg#: 2356524

Red Rack Copenhagen 5N

Cophenhagen 5N maybe the best heifer bull we have raised here on the ranch. He combines calving ease with outstanding balance, structure and eye appeal. Making him the kind of bull you trust without hesitation on heifers. Smooth shouldered, clean fronted and straight topped, he is sound on his feet and legs and built for longevity. This bull represents the standard we strive for and sets the bar high for heifer bulls moving forward.

Dam Red Rack Rambo 221H has produced two herd bulls previously that have sold to Kelly and Peggy Donahue and Len and Dianne Carlson. Rambo 221H is starting to prove herself as a top end cow that gets it done. So if your looking for a bull to give you top end replacements or to sire a desirable set of steers that will be the money making kind, take a look at Cophenhagen 5N on Sale Day. HEIFER BULL

Red Rack Copenhagen 7N

I hope I am not being repetitive on my comments on these Cophenhagen sired bulls but they are all Peas in a Pod alike! Red Rack Cophenhagen 7N is another bull suited for the heifer pen or would work very well with some second calvers. His Dam Red Rack Dividend 435K is a moderate cow with a great udder and darker muzzle. 7N has great length of body and has his daddy’s tidy head and smoothness through out. HEIFER BULL

Journey 16N is another bull who has great parentage. Dam Cola 90D has given us mainly females but her recent efforts were bulls that sold to Greenwood Red Angus of South Dakota and last year a bull that sold to Ben Ashley. Cola 90D is a larger framed cow that provides extra length in her calves. Journey 16N is solid built, thick and exhibits extensive rib and barrel shape. He stands on a strong big foot and has a great leg structure. His shoulders are smooth and has good neck extension and nice shaped head to aid in calving ease. We feel he will work on larger heifers and cows.

HEIFER OR COW BULL

Red Rack Copenhagen 16N

Red Rack Journey 12N

Journey 12N is a solid made and correct as they come. Sired by Mar Mac DM Journey 60J a bull we purchased to add thickness, and performance to our cow herd but not jepordizing calving ease. We love our Journey females that we have kept for replacements and have found his sons to top the scales at weaning and test weights through out. Journey 12N had an impressive weaning weight of 750lbs and hasn’t looked back with a January 28th weight of 1210lbs. He has the herd bull look. Nuts and Butt! You can keep all his replacement females and have scale topping sons.

Dam Red Patchell Hey Hey was purchased out of the Ontario Finest Sale in 2023 from Patchell Livestock. Her first calf here at he ranch was Red Rack Blue Chip 1M that sold to Lee Nelson. Hey Hey is a moderate cow that is built very structurally sound and looking forward to her future calves she produces for us.

HEIFERS OR COWS

Red Rack Lund 20N

Red Rack Copenhagen 22N

Lund 20N is out of a first calf heifer and Rosette 1L has done a great job on this bull. Rosette 1L comes from a very strong backed parentage to back her up. BCC Gattor, BCC Renee, Resolution, DKF Racer, Rack Makn Hay all calving ease linage but nothing that sacrifices performance and growth. Lund 20N stands proud with ample heel. He shows excellent thickness through the middle of his hind quarters and a wide, flat back, indicating strong muscling. Lund 20N has a low birth weight making him an excellent choice for heifers. HEIFER BULL

Cophenhagen 22N is another one that will be a sleep easy heifer bull. He combines smoothness with length. 22N is one of the largest nutted bulls in the pen at the end of January and is showing large interest in the heifer pen beside him. Dam Tamilla 338J is a moderate correct made cow with a great disposition and is proving she can raise impressive stylish calves. She raised Red Rack Journey 32M that sold in the last years sale to Craig Taylor. HEIFER BULL

Lund 25N has been showing great growth on test since weaning time in the bull pen.

Dam Karma 14L was an easy choice to keep in our replacement pen as her Dam Karma 88X who has raised many progeny that sold to both commercial and purebred breeders. Karma 14L will go on to replace 88X as she is now deceased. Lund 25N combines structural soundness with performance traits. He was born unassisted at a moderate 80 lbs which reflects calving ease while still showing growth potential. He exhibits a smooth shoulder, clean front end and a strong top line with good depth of rib and square hip. Have a good look at this guy.

Cophenhagen 27N is a powerful, growth oriented individual that is designed to add pounds without sacrificing functionality. Born to a moderate 81 lbs he will still offer calving ease while still expressing strong early growth and performance. He is long bodied with a big top rib shape and muscle through out his hip. He is sound on his feet and legs. He moves freely. This bull is an excellent option if you are seeking a heifer bull that can deliver both performance and long term productivity in the cow herd.

LARGE HEIFER OR COW BULL

RED RACK ROCK 27M - MAT. BROTHER

Red Rack Copenhagen 29N

Cophenhagen 29N is straight topped stylish cow bull that is smooth made and eye appealing. 29N has a well balanced profile that makes him stand out in the pen. This bull offers the kind of style and functionality that will add consistency, quality and visual appeal to a mature cow herd. Dam Kuruba 21E has done a great job for us here raising top male and female progeny. Kuruba is a larger cow that has a strong build with great feet and great udder with quiet disposition. Recent bulls sold to Willow Creek Farming and Parkland Colony. COW BULL

30N

Red Rack Lund 30N

Age of Dam: 2 - PMM 30N - January 28, 2025 - Reg#: 2456870

Lund 30N is a heifer bull to truly appreciate, combining calving ease, balance and structural correctness in one complete package. Born at 80 lbs unassisted and out of a bred heifer. He offers confidence for use on heifers or would make a set of second calving cows shine! He has a great balance of muscle and growth, a straight top, smooth shoulders and clean front end. Lund will produce great females and sire those heavy weight steers in the fall.

Copenhagen 39N is another stand out heifer prospect, offering the kind of calving ease you as producers look for when breeding first calf females. He is smooth made and straight topped, with a clean front end and balanced design that supports easy births. He is sound on his feet and legs with adequate body and muscle. Cophenhagen 39N maintains performance while staying heifer friendly. Dam MS Rouge 12G is a easy doing moderate framed cow with strong feet and udder structure. Her last years bull sold to Len and Diane Carlson. HEIFER BULL

Red

Red Rack Copenhagen 40N

Copenhagen 40N is a bull best suited for larger framed heifers and would be an awesome choice for a young set of cows. He offers added growth, body and muscle while still maintaining a smooth correct build. This bull provides the extra power and consistency needed to add pounds and quality while keeping calving ease in mind. Dam Bertha 227H was sired by ACC Big Shot 118E who was a bull we bought from the Andersons to add some thickness back to our cow herd and what a great job he did for us.

Red Rack Copenhagen 41N

Copenhagen 41N is a very dark red heifer bull that brings eye appeal and shape to spare. He is smooth made and straight topped, with added muscle expression his top, and hip while still maintaining a calving ease design. Sound on his feet and legs and balanced in his profile. He offers both functionality and style. This bull is an excellent choice if your are wanting a heifer bull that adds color, muscle and quality without sacrificing ease of calving.

HEIFER BULL

Red Rack Lund 43N

Lund 43N is a heifer friendly bull backed by a moderate 80lb birth weight that offers confidence at calving. He is smooth shouldered clean fronted, adequate body depth and muscle shape. He will offer calving ease with some performance. This young dam has really done an awesome job.. HEIFER BULL

Red Rack Journey 51N

Rack Journey 51N is a correctly built bull that offers versatility and confidence for use on larger framed heifers or cows. With a moderate 80 lbs birth weight , he balances calving ease with a long smooth made body, muscle, and performance. Dam NVG 6G is a tremendous cow that exemplifies everything we value in a productive female. She is deep bodied, sound, and easy fleshing, with the kind of structure and udder quality that supports longevity! She raised Rack Steller 24L that sold to Lee & Margret Donald in our 2024 bull sale.

Red Rack Copenhagen 64N

Rack Copenhagen 64N started off light at weaning at 575lbs September 15th but has excelled in the pen since. On January 28th his daily gain is tied for top gain at 3.98lbs per day and at that pace will have him weighing in around 1210lbs sale day and for a February 25th birth date I don’t think that is all bad!! Take a good look at 64N’s picture and notice just how well balanced this bull is. He ties everything together with a strong, straight top, a clean front end, and great depth of body. He is sound in his feet and legs , and has a very tidy skull shape that shows off his calving ease characteristics. 64N stands out in the pen for his correctness and overall functionality. We feel strongly that he will work well on heifers.

Red Rack Copenhagen 68N

Cophenhagen 68N is a February 27th born calf that is showing a lot of potential. He does have a bit higher birth weight of 84 lbs but is still exhibiting easy calving traits. He has a very tidy head joining to a nice long neck and smooth shoulders as all the Cophenhagen progeny exhibit. He has ample depth of rib and a muscled rump. I believe he would work well with developed heifers but the numbers on this guy says to use him on second calvers or cows. He is a bull that will sire great females and desirable steers that will make you money!

Lot 69N

Red Rack Journey 69N

Rack Journey 69N has an interesting twist to his pedigree as his dam, Fayette 44D is a black red carrier cow. She is sired by Black Brylor Kodiak 204Y and we all know how impacting Kodiak has been in the black angus breed .what makes this even more unique is her consistency - of the last seven calves she has produced to date only two have been born black, while the last five have come red!!! This pedigree adds an extra layer of intrigue, flexibility, and maintains the quality , performance expected in Journey 69N. These genetics will enhance any cow herd and the daughters will be extra special. Take a good look at Journey 69N as he will develop into a great herd sire as he matures.

Red Rack Journey 74N

Rack Journey 74N is our youngest bull on offer for this years bull sale, With a March 2 birth date. He is a bull with a lot of length but has yet to completely fill his frame and muscle. He will work well with some heifers and especially if you breed later. Dam Fayette 441k is one of the Resolution replacement daughters that we kept out of the Fayette 44D cow I spoke of on the previous bull Rack 69N.

Journey 74N just needs some time to show his potential and we are willing to continue to develop him here until you are ready to turn out.

RED RACK RESOLUTION 37L - MAT BROTHER

Non PaperedAngus Bulls

THE NEXT FIVE LOTS ARE Non Papered bulls out of PUREBRED RED and BLACK ANGUS COWS

In the fall of 2023 we were offered a chance to purchase a group of non papered purebred cows from Nick & Loraine Van Gaalen of Fine Line Angus. This set of females consisted of 35 red and black Angus cows that had been purchased from a dispersal sale and all females were sold non papered. Nick assured us of the quality of these females and if you know Nick he knows a good cow from a bad one!!!! The cows came to us in calf and the first set of calves were calved out February to March of 24. This was a very strong set of calves and the cows were adjusting to our place very well. We made the decision to try to speed these cows up as quickly as we could and to pull the top end of the bull calves off and offer them in this years sale. These bulls on offer are sire identified and the cows they are out of are top end cows. I am writing this letter on February 03 /26 and in two years have already caught this group of cows up almost 45 days and have calved the majority of them out in the past three weeks !!! This is a great testament to the health and fertility of these cows!! Please feel confident that these bulls being offered from these cows will have the predictability of all our bulls and will be consistent with calving ease and performance.

14N

Age of Dam: 5 - January 21, 2025 - Reg#: Unregistered

14N is a tremendous bull that pairs power and performance with a practical 86 lbs birth weight. He is big bodied, carrying a strong, straight top with muscle though his hip and stifle. Sound on his feet and legs and built with balance and durability, he is designed to grow, travel and hold condition. Dam 14H is a front pasture cow that if you had a 100 of her would be amazing in any herd both purebred and commercial. Bull 14N comes by his stature honestly and will be on asset to any group of cows he is put with. Don’t miss this opportunity to obtain this outstanding bull as he is one of the best that we have raised!

Sells with no papers.

Lot 15N

15N is sired by Copenhagen and is a solid made bull built with function and reliability in mind. He is deep bodied and square hipped, with a strong straight top and plenty of natural muscle and capacity. This bull is the kind that will go on to work and add consistency. Giving pounds and longevity to any commercial cow herd. 15N again has a tremendous Dam behind him that is moderate made and puts all she has into her calves. 15N does have a bit more shoulder and we recommend him to breed cows.

Sells with no papers.

COW BULL

In this group of cows was a good mix of Black Angus. Remember all cows were purebred but dispersed as cows with no papers. 26N is another bull to be used in the cow herd, with an 88 lb birth weight he strikes an excellent balance between calving ease and performance. He is solid made and well put together. Featuring and easy calving head, smooth shoulders and ample length. He is a bull that we feel checks all the boxes and will raise both replacement females and strong stout steers that will push the scales down in the fall. This bull sells with no papers.

of Dam: 4 - February 9, 2025 - Reg#: Unregistered

Age of Dam: 7 - February 26, 2025 - Reg#: Unregistered

46N is a bull we feel could work on larger framed heifers or cows. He is smooth in his design but is a twin and birth weight could fluctuate on this guy. His dam 332J is a smaller framed cow but very correct made and stands on a solid foot and has a great udder. This bull sells with no papers.

67N is one of the youngest bulls on test with a Feb 26th birth date, but he is absolutely knocking it out of the park! He continues to rise to the top with his growth, performance and over all balance. Proving age is not a limitation. His dam CM20 is a tank of a cow but has perfect feet, a great udder and she raises a great calf every year. 67N is a bull that keeps improving and shows the kind of upside and potential that makes him exciting for the future.
