Welcome,
ank you for your interest in our 2026 edition of the Pugh Farms Spring Bull Sale. For anyone new to our program we thought we would provide a little background into who we are. We are a family-run, multi-generation operation based in Eastern Alberta where our operation runs along the Battle River. We have been in this area from the beginning of it being settled with the rst generation making a homestead claim in 1910. We take pride in raising both seedstock and commercial cattle designed to perform in real-world commercial conditions.
From a genetic development standpoint our goal is to consistently produce cattle that come easily at birth, get up and going quickly, and carry that momentum through rapid, e cient growth to weaning and beyond. We place strong emphasis on calving ease, fertility, sound structure, maternal strength, and longevity, while working to produce genetics that can ful ll their potential in performance and growth that drive pro tability. Bulls are developed with moderation and purpose — athletic, durable, and capable of covering heifers and cows in big country while holding condition — because functionality and longevity matter just as much as numbers on paper.

While cowherd performance is a critical metric, this operation has always been about people and relationships. As a family, we value working alongside progressive cattlemen and earning their trust year after year. Whether you are a long-time customer or considering Pugh Farms genetics for the rst time, we welcome the opportunity to visit with you about your cow herd and your goals. We stand behind our cattle and are always willing to help match bulls to programs where they will work and last.

We want to also take the opportunity to not only thank our families who have given us great support in the development of our program, but also to thank our neighbors, and friends for their continued encouragement. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without our customers and all the people in our life who have shared in the journey that has been the continual building of our program. As we move into a new era in the beef industry, we nd ourselves in a positive market globally with a high domestic beef consumption.
Building an operation comes with many di erent moving parts. We have been fortunate to have some extra faces around home helping with the daily care and feeding of our herd as well as seeding crops, making feed and harvesting. Amanda’s sister Steph and her girls make an e ort to come and help out as much as they can and we truly appreciate having the girls with us for all the things we do on the ranch daily when they are here. We’re biased but we don’t think you will nd a more clever, witty, funny, kind and diligent set of kids whether we are ranching or turning the task of the day into an adventure. Watch for them sale day and don’t be afraid to ask them who their favorites are or what their opinions are; the answers are usually priceless. We have become a stop for many young producers and students both in and out of country who have interned here through 2025. To Jack, Sarah, Todd, Megan, Reece, Rachel, Mitch, Emily, Sophie, Alex, Abe, Iain, Brian, Connor, and currently Magnus and Kris; ank You. ese young people have helped share in all aspects of what we do. ey have shown us our place through di erent eyes and shared in some vision coupled with a fun amount of interaction when the work is done for the day.

We truly appreciate the sta at Dryland opening up their facility to us to host the sale. We often get comments on how nice the market is laid out as well as how well the cattle can be displayed there. Our Auctioneer Kirk Goldsmith has been with us since we started this sale and his professionalism and advice throughout the year is also greatly appreciated, our ringmen Justin Gattey and Justin Graham are astute cattleman with a great deal of understanding of the marketplace and the direction in which we continue to see it to go. DLMS has opened our sale day range up greatly where we have the ability to broadcast and display our cattle across the world with ease. Stacy Young has taken our videos the last couple of years and her thoughts on the cattle she has seen in her travels as well as our video production are always greatly appreciated.
Again, this year we will feature groups of open replacement heifers that will sell before the bulls. ey will be palpated with their herd health programs listed in the back of the catalog. Mona, Georgia, and Hayes Howe from Mo Angus as well as Kelby and Tenille Stevens and their family from Misty Ridge Ranch Ltd will join us again this year with females from the heart of their programs. We have also added two new heifer consignors with the Tellier family from Tellier Bar LD Ranch and the Toews family from Lynden Land & Cattle Ltd bringing top quality females to the sale as well.
ank you for taking the time to review this year’s o ering and for your continued support of our family and operation. We look forward to seeing you on sale day and to working with you in the year ahead.

We have added Angus HD testing to further evaluate our bulls in the o ering. Genomic technology has been used to make EPDs more accurate. e genomic data increases the accuracy with which we relate animals to each other, verifying pedigree information, and allowing us to apply phenotypes of related animals to non-phenotyped animals. Genotyping animals has led to more accurate EPDs for younger animals. is means that doing the Angus GS test on an animal gives you as much information as having 23 calves with birth weights recorded and as many as 12 calves tested for individual feed intake. Updated Angus GS epds will be available sale day.

Thoughts from Our Nutritionist
e bulls at Pugh Farms are raised with quality and longevity as the foundation of their breeding program. Proper nutrition doesn’t just start at weaning but starts in the cow at conception. Each year, a well-planned nutrition program is in place from conception to sale time. e targeted supplementation of organic minerals and vitamins throughout the year optimizes health and growth in the bulls for sale every year. From weaning on, the balance to challenge bull development without risking longevity is met with high-quality forage blends and a mixture of oats and barley. is is key for developing structure and not compromising fertility and soundness in breeding bulls.
Feeding with a Total Mixed Ration ensures the consistent delivery of all nutrients, to all bulls, to ensure every mouthful of feed is the same throughout the feed-bunk.
I hope that the 2026 sale is good for both Pugh Farms and their clients, and wish success with the addition of a Pugh Farms bull to your herd!

National 310N is our only Charolais on o er but for what we lack in numbers we feel we make up for in genetic potential. He brings together calving ease considerations, solid growth through to weaning and marbling strength. His two-year-old mother born to a two-year-old mother of her own poured herself into raising this guy through the summer and is the type of cow we appreciate with a solid foot and udder structure that works to pay her weigh.
Supporting data includes Top 4% BW, Top 4% CE, Top 35% WW, Top 3% SC, and Top 3% Marbling.
Nero 10N’s dam is an exceptional breeding piece around here. Her rst bull calf garnered some attention in the pen in the 2025 sale, and in 2025 she gave us 2 bull calves. ey are similar in type, with round expressive muscle shape and sharp front ends. ey also weaned o very similarly to each other. ey do have a slightly di erent look to them and that likely comes down to preference, but the cow power behind the 2 is one and the same.
Supporting data includes Top 32% WW, Top 25% YW, Top 31% RADG, Top 12% Marbling, and Top 22% CEM.
If you take a look at the info on 120N, you’ll note that his older brother is the sire to these 2 calves. We’re big believers in stacking cow families and the opportunity to combine 120C and 10H seemed like a no brainer. Both 110N and his twin have the genetics to make sound, square uddered, productive females. 110N is maybe the slightly more stylish option of the 2, and is the one that turned heads on pasture checks all summer long. ey also present the ability to sire quick growing heavy calves at weaning time that will feed well.
Supporting data includes Top 32% WW, Top 25% YW, Top 31%
Top 12% Marbling, and Top 22% CEM.

Morris 475M is a straightforward bull with a sensible approach to growth. He developed at a pace that leans toward the potential to sire steers that grow quickly and e ciently. His dam will calve this spring at een with the third full sib in a row to Morris. Now more than ever the baldie female is sought a er to provide a building block for the cowherd rebuild. Coming from maternal lineage that is full of longevity give this guy a serious look if you make females for yourself or your customers.
Moulin Rouge 511M is the type of bull that makes my footnotes sound like a broken record. He came small at birth and accelerated quickly through to weaning seeing him gain an abundance of weight at side of his mother with no supplementation just good hard native grass and the milk and attentiveness of his 12-year-old mother. If you appreciate the kind that come easy and grow rapidly circle him in your book.

Mickey 532M o ers a very similar footnote to the 511M bull before him.
