Mike

It is always a pleasure to welcome our fellow breeders and customers to our annual bull sale, for the folks that actually read this part of the book. is welcome always makes a person re ect on the past year and the goals and accomplishments that were made, a big one that comes to mind is the CCYA that was held in Stettler this past summer, so many people did a lot of work to help make that a world class event, but I have to give my wife Justine a ton of credit as she was a major push as well as our girls Indy and Scarlet, to top it o both girls set goals to try and compete at the highest level and I am so incredibly proud that they could get that done, mostly I am proud of how much work and consistency they put into those goals… GREAT job girls, I love you. We always talk about the good and positive things we accomplish but let’s be realistic we had other plans that didn’t get done...Trask we still have a lot of fencing to do!

Prairie Cove genetics had another spectacular year with many Champions and high sellers being sired by PCC bulls. Something I am very proud of that our genetics have gone out and added value to our customer’s herds as well as our own, they have worked all across North America for many di erent breeders in many di erent environments. We were so happy to be one of the hosts of the ACA summer tour and really appreciate all the folks that joined us that beautiful July day.

I was thumbing through some of our long past history of sale catalogs and come across something my Dad wrote in December 1993 in one of his welcomes,“ Our goal has remained constant... which was and is to supply a high quality product” A powerful statement, and something that I believe still holds very true for us still to this day. My passion level for elite level Charolais genetics has never been higher, we make a lot of miles to source Charolais genetics with our goal still being the same as it was for my Dad in 1993.

We have an incredibly strong group of bulls and females that I am very proud of, the fall bulls are a new thing we keep adding to and growing and are very excited about. We work with amazing partners and friends all year long that make this business very enjoyable as you will see in the book some lots are co-owned. We really enjoy those relationships and look forward to continuing with them going forward into the future.

e cattle business is in uncharted territory , prices are sky high and beef is as popular as it has ever been, so make sure you enjoy this time in our industry.

Prairie Cove Charolais has established a reputation for producing high-quality cattle backed by a deep, consistent cow herd and a commitment to proven genetics. eir program has earned multiple Supreme Champion titles over the years, re ecting both the quality and competitiveness of their breeding philosophy. When you think about PCC females for many the rst thing that comes to mind are the Berklys and Lily, but for me the one that has always stood out in my mind as a model Charolais is 407B and her in uence is loud and clear in the pages to follow.

e bulls o ered in this sale are stout, sound, and hairy, built to add performance, power, and eye appeal while maintaining the structure and functionality required for long-term success. ese bulls are developed with durability and real-world application in mind, making them suitable for a wide range of breeding programs.

e female o ering represents the foundation of the Prairie Cove program. ese females are fertile, functional, and productive—true money makers designed to work e ciently and add value year a er year. Each female re ects generations of careful selection for maternal strength, longevity, and consistency.

Prairie Cove Charolais remains progressive by introducing new sires annually, ensuring access to fresh genetics while maintaining the reliability and uniformity the program is known for. is forward-thinking approach continues to drive improvement and relevance in an ever-evolving industry.

Buyers can approach this o ering with con dence, knowing these cattle are bred and managed with purpose. Whether adding herd sires, replacement females, or proven genetics, this sale provides an opportunity to invest in cattle built to perform.  e cattle are denitely worth the drive to Bashaw and the exceptional PCC hospitality is a bonus. Come early to view the o ering and join them for steak and homemade pie.

If you are unable to attend feel free to contact any of us on the T Bar team and we would be more than happy to assist you in any way possible and I will personally have a piece of your favorite pie and give you a review!

BRCHE Berkly Ann 8507 ET, Dam of Lot 27

Our program with the Fall Born Bulls come along from a need to split our work load and to expand our program in a way that didn’t have us calving more cows in January and February. We really enjoy calving in the fall, we have the cows out in a full quarter with great grass and plenty of trees. We tag calves every morning, we don’t weigh the calves on a scale, we use the tape. The genetics are all the same genetics that we calves in the spring time and tend to be lighter calves just from the time of the year and the exercise the cows get daily. As I said early we plan on adding to our fall program year over year.

The fall bulls tend to grow differently as they have a leaner look to them, they are on our same feeding program but throughout the summer and early fall these bulls are out in a low land pasture to keep them moving and growing, we think this promotes longevity as well as gets them out of the yard which is nice.

ese Fall bulls really get us excited, we plan on adding to our fall program every year as it splits our world load out over the year and adds value to our bulls and customers to cover more cows. Miss Prairie Cove 407B has a major impact in our Fall division this year as you can see. We appreciate Shake e Frost for the curly hair and true muscle expression and dimension he adds all while moderating birth weight. Knoxville is a true herdbull and had been a stand out since day one.

Easy fleshing females with extra body that will always stay in nice condition no matter what the frame score may be. We really concentrate on neat tidy udder that will last and that you never have to touch, my dad was a stickler on udders and I think we have continued that tradition, something I am very proud of.
