BOARD

Happy to provide free board until April 1, 2026. Bulls picked up sale day will be rebated $200. Bulls going back to consignors yard must be insured.

Welcome

It’s hard to believe this is already the third year we have brought the bulls to town for what was once just a pipe dream of hosting our own bull sale. We are extremely grateful for everyone who has put their faith in selecting seedstock from our program. To all past buyers, bidders and attendees- Thank you for making this all possible!

2025… A year for the books. Congrats to each & everyone of you. We have all heard the “hard work pays off” saying and finally, this past year it did. Fall calves breaking 4k, cull cows and bulls well over 2 dollars a pound, and good bred heifers knocking on 8k. Great prices and with feed abundance good in most areas it gives us many reasons to be smiling and optimistic going into this calendar year.

This year on offer we have a strong, honest group of bulls that will go out and get to work. The bulls are fed a specifically designed TMR ration to ensure longevity while maintaining an athletic free-moving ability. Whether you are looking for calving ease bulls or straight up “push the scales down this fall” power bulls, we have both. Birthweights are a no-nonsense guessing game around here so read them with 100% confidence. Upon birth, new ones get their first nurse in and then we take them across an actual digital scale. No foot tapes, no “lets call him 90”. Just real honest numbers.

New this year we have guest consignor Sandy Hill Charolais. The Barritt family have been longtime customers, neighbours and friends. So, when Denver stepped out and bought a nice group of females we thought this would be a good spot to showcase his program. Also new this year, with customer feedback, we have added the familiar services of DLMS for those who can not attend on sale day.

On the farm front, this fall we made the difficult decision to sell our commercial herd of cows (with the exception of a couple of Gracie’s “pets” that have calved alongside the purebreds for years) not because we wanted to, more so we felt we had to. Calving season had become too long, space and watering restrictions of having two separately ran herds was just too much for us to overcome. But as they say with every chapter that closes another one opens and just weeks after the commercial cows left the farm, a terrific opportunity arose to hand select from a papered herd in southeast Saskatchewan. We made the trek out and purchased 30 strong young cows to add to our program and our son Denim bought 6 of those to add to his growing herd.

Bulls will be available for viewing sale day at the market, or we welcome you to come anytime prior to the sale at the ranch, coffee is always on and sometimes Denim will even leave a cold beer or two in the fridge. Please consider this your official invite to join us March 2nd 5:00pm, at VJV Ponoka for a great meal with bull sale to follow. Hope to see you all there.

I would like to thank the Parsons family for their support and the opportunity to consign this group of bulls to their sale. Last fall, I had the chance to purchase my first set of purebred Charolais cows from George and Ursula Corpataux of Sandan Charolais, laying a strong foundation for the program. I would like to thank them both for the guidance and knowledge they have given me.

This year’s offering is a powerful group of yearling bulls built for growth, efficiency, and longevity. They are backed by proven genetics that emphasize calving ease where it matters and the ability to add pounds at weaning. These bulls are quiet, have been pail-fed, and are ready to go to work in both purebred and commercial programs. The bulls are developed on a balanced TMR ration, working closely with Blue Rock Animal Nutrition. Raising quality cattle is not a one or two-person operation; with that being said, I’d like to thank my family and friends for their support in my newest venture. My goal is for buyers to buy with confidence knowing these bulls are one hundred percent guaranteed, any problems you have will be taken care of. The bulls are available for viewing at the farm prior to sale day. Feel free to reach out with any questions. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on sale day.

Sincerely,
