Wow what a year it has been for the Canadian cattle industry. There have now been multiple years of record setting calf and bred heifer prices in the fall and it doesn’t look like things are going to be changing anytime soon. With the continuation of decline in cattle numbers in the US, the strong cattle market, and minimal heifer retention a rebuild in the US will take several years to impact the market. This has lead to more optimism in the cattle industry than we have ever seen. As you flip through our bull sale catalogue it is our goal that you are seeing the evolution of our two programs that are consistently looking at the demands of the cattle industry. Both of our programs have looked to acquire genetics that are focused on where the cattle industry is heading. Whether you are a seedstock producer, a large or small cow/calf producer, it is our goal to be moving the needle for what your program needs. Regardless if your goal is to top your local auction mart with big calves or build a solid female base for the future, there are bulls in our offering that can support your goals.
With the combination of these two purebred programs, that offer both yearling and two-year-old bulls, you should feel confident in the product you are buying. Both of our programs have been built on a strong female base bred to elite Gelbvieh bulls. We are continuously striving to find new genetics that allow us to provide the best possible bulls that will add profit to your bottom line.
For those who don’t know about our programs:
Nelson Gelbvieh has a long-standing tradition of producing top quality commercial and seed stock bulls. They have acquired some of the best bulls in the breed that have produced high selling bred females in The Gathering, year over year. This year they have over 25 top quality yearling bulls.
Pin to Point Gelbvieh is a smaller yet progressive program that focuses on quality with an extensive A.I. and embryo program. They have gone on to find top quality females from programs all over North America to create a solid female base. Calving in March and April has allowed them to focus on developing 2 year-old bulls with high standards, the 6 bulls on offer this year are elite herd sire prospects.
All bulls will have a semen and breeding soundness evaluation done prior to the sale. We will have a supplement sheet of current weights that we will post prior to the sale.

Delivery
All bulls are free to stay until April 15, 2026. Bulls will be delivered free within 200 km and delivery beyond that will be worked out between buyer and seller. If the bulls stay beyond April 15th, sellers will offer to feed and manage those bulls until they are required for a set fee and transportation costs become the cost of the buyer. At the time of sale, transportation date and method will be discussed. If you leave the bull at the farm following the sale we strongly encourage that you insure the bull for the full purchase price.
Sight Unseen
If you are unable to view the bulls in advance of the sale give Jeremiah or Duane a call. They will personally go over the bulls with you and make recommendations that will meet your breeding programs needs. They will represent you in a confidential and professional manner and will assist you with anything you need to feel confident in your bull purchase.

We retain 50% semen interest in all the bulls selling, unless otherwise posted in the footnotes.

Welcome to our 2026 bull sale. I’m not sure which one it is, but we’ve had quite a few. We started raising Gelbvieh 54 years ago. We’ve seen a lot of changes and mostly all for the better. The one change that has been great and almost unbelievable is the price of cattle and the future appears to stay that way for a while. One thing that hasn’t changed is that we always enjoy visiting with anyone that stops in for a visit or gives us a call. We are always happy to show you the bulls and their moms whenever it is convenient for you. We are very thankful for the many cattlemen that have bought bulls and females from us in the past. We have no thoughts about quitting!! We are grateful to have the Barnerts with us for the 5th year. We feel that we have a pen of two year old and yearling bulls that will improve most herds! FROM GLENWOOD: ½ mile east, 1 mile north and 3 miles east. Off Highway 810, turn east on Twp Rd 52, we are 3 miles east at the end of the road.
FROM CALGARY: Hwy 2 south to exit 194B (Hwy 3Crowsnest Pass), west on Hwy 3 for a mile, turn left on Hwy 810 towards Glenwood, stay on Hwy 810 for about 40 km., after you cross the Waterton River you’ll travel about 3.5 miles and then turn left on Township Road 52. Travel 3 miles east, we are at the end of the road.
DDN 502N comes with a low birth weight, a quiet and friendly disposition and a moderate frame. He has been gaining good and is tight sheathed. His dam goes back to one of the most productive cows that we have ever had WGG Foxy Miss Molly 146H. Check this guy out closely if you are in need of a heifer bull.

DDN 507N is another Legend sired heifer bull with his CE in the top 1% of the breed. He has a low birth weight and is smooth shouldered. His dam goes back to some of the best bulls that we’ve had including JRI Star General, Ston Xplosive 5X and DDN Belly River Krackerjack 057K.
Like all of Legend’s calves to date DDN 508N has a quiet and inquisitive nature. He has good length and has been gaining close to 3.25 lbs. per day on feed. All bulls are being fed around 13 lbs. of whole oats and free choice grass hay. His dam comes from a family of high producing cows. His Grand Dam’s 6 calves have a weaning and yearling ratio’s over 100. 509N
Here is another Legend son that comes with good length and a good hip on a moderate frame. He is tight sheathed and friendly.
This Legend son is dark red, has been gaining really good and has a great disposition.
This Joy Ride son is long with good rib shape that gives him a lot of capacity. His small head is nicely attached to his moderate frame. He is tight sheathed. His mother, DDN 916G ET has been a Dam of Merit the last two years and DDN 528N’s grand dam is none other than the famous and highly productive DDN 230Z cow.
This bull is a son out of the Judd Ranch high selling bull JRI Where’s The Beef 307H40. The progeny of Where’s The Beef excel in performance. Like his sire, DDN 540N is deep and thick with lots of capacity through the middle. Real strong maternal traits on both sides of this guy’s pedigree! He has a weaning ratio of 105 and a yearling ratio of 104. LOT 535N
This is a bull out of our new herd sire RPS Lazer Beam 31L who we bought from Ryan and Michelle Sommerfeld who own RPS Gelbvieh. We bought him for the strong maternal and physical traits he has. With good and strong maternal traits on both sides of his pedigree DDN 535N should be able to help most herds with female improvement plus some heavier weaning weights.
DDN 549N comes from one of our young cows that traces back to a full sister of DDN 230Z. 549N has been a good gainer. He has a small head that blends in nicely with his long moderate frame that is covered with lots of hair.

This guy comes from a really good and very moderate framed cow who has been a very consistent producer for us. To date her calves have had a weaning ratio of 105 and a yearling ratio of 103. Since November DDN 565N has been gaining 3.65lbs. per day.
Here is a real meat machine. He is thick and deep and long with lots of hair. DDN 577N has been one of the high gainers in the pen. He boasts a weaning ratio of 114 and his dam DDN 174J’s offspring post a weaning ratio of 108 and a yearling ratio of 107. If you want a bull that will add pounds to his calves you should take a close look at DDN 577N!
589N
DDN 589N comes from strong genetics on both his maternal and paternal pedigree. On the sire side he goes back to RWG FedX 0411 who not only moderated birth weights but added performance as well. His great granddam is none other than WGG Miss Molly 146H who raised us some outstanding calves. His mother has been a Dam of Merit 3 times. DDN 589N is moderate framed and long.
DDN 596N will be a popular bull come sale day. His calving ease is in the top 15% of the breed. He has a nice small head, a moderate frame and is tight sheathed. He comes from an up and coming mother who has earned her first Dam of Merit status.

This guy has a lot of good qualities. He has a good disposition, he’s long and has excellent feet and has been gaining over 3.5 lbs. per day since weaning. His weaning ratio is 107 and his mom is a two time Dam of Merit!
Belly River
DDN 5106N is that very popular dark red color. He has good feet, is tight sheathed and has been gaining over 3.5 lbs. per day since he was weaned. His mother is very fertile and has raised 12 calves with a calving interval of 369 days.
This guy is one of those thick soggy bulls that will throw calves that grow and will be thick and deep just like him and his daddy Holiday Inn H415 ET. His CE is in the top 15% of the breed. His weaning ratio is 110. He comes from a very good mother who is a 3 time Dam of Merit and a 2 time Dam of Distinction!
DDN 5109N will have a lot of interest in him. His extra birth weight probably came from his long and thick body. He posts a 205 day adjusted weight of 795 lbs. His dam, DDN 091H is a Dam of Merit and her pedigree traces back to the famous BB Miss 61Y who helped push Severtson Land and Cattle into the lime light of the Gelbvieh breed. His sire comes comes from DDN Driver 133D and JRI Peterbilt 282B 31 ET. DDN 5109N has been gaining just under 4 lbs. per day since weaning.

DDN 5110N is a true performance bull. He is one of the higher gaining bulls in the pen. He has a good hip and lots of depth and thickness. His mother DDN 119D has a weaning ratio of 109 and a yearling ratio of 112. She has been a Dam of Merit 3 times and is a 2 times Dam of Distinction.
This bull is out of Joy Ride J510. The Joy Ride bulls in our pen last year were very popular and DDN 5113N will have many admirers at sale time. With a modest birth weight and frame coupled with good length and disposition he will do a great job in most herds. He could work well on heifers, with a CE and BW in the top 4% of the Gelbvieh breed.
DDN 5115N is out of one of my favorite cows who consistently brings home a calf every fall! For a coming 12 year old she looks lots younger than her age. She is extra long and has excellent feet and udder. DDN 141B has passed these qualities on to her son. He has a good phenotype with lots of hair and length which adds to his ample capacity through the middle. He is also tight sheathed.
DDN 5136N is a twin and another Legend sired bull out of a first calf heifer. With a 70 lb. birth weight and decent performance he should fit into a heifer calving program somewhere. His smaller head blends in nicely to his moderate frame that has good depth of ribs. His mother whose weaning and yearling ratio’s are 121 and 118 respectfully is a daughter of 3 time Dam of Merit and 2 time Dam of Distinction cow DDN 119D.

DDN 5138N has some impressive figures attached to him. He’s been gaining 4.34 lbs. per day since weaning. He has a 205 day adjusted weight of 804. His weaning weight ratio is 113. He is long, thick and deep with an impressive hip. His pedigree is stacked with great names on both sides including 230Z. You will want to look closely at him when checking out the bulls.
Belly River
You will want to take a good look at this guy’s EPD’s. It’s not often that you get this much calving ease combined with this much growth potential. His 205 day adjusted weight is 815 lbs. This guy is dark red and thick and has a friendly nature. He has the same mother as our heifer bull DDN Belly River 3102L. DDN 407B’s calves have a weaning ratio of 103 and a yearling ratio of 106.
DDN 5148N comes from one of the best performing cows that we have ever raised. She’ll be 16 in February raising her 15th calf. Belly River Xelga 97X is long, deep and thick with perfect feet and a well balanced near perfect udder. Her calving interval over all these years is 371 days! When we have visitors tour our herd she is always picked out and asked about. DDN 5148N is built like his mother and is deep and thick. Of the 14 calves to date that 97X has raised 12 have been bulls and only 2 have been heifers. Their weaning ratio is 105 and their yearling ratio 102. Here’s an interesting thought--What if DDN 5148N sired bulls and heifers at the same ratio of bulls to heifers that his mother has done? Think how that could effect your bottom line!!
Here is the 2nd of the two Konvoy sons to sell in the sale. We have been very happy with Konvoy daughters. DDN 5109N’s small head blends right into his smooth shoulders. He is long and has been gaining 3.98 lbs. per day since weaning. His mother has been a very consistent above average producer.

DDN 5154N is a son of Jetson who we purchased from Goodview Gelbvieh. Jetson has produced females that bring home good calves every fall. 5154N has a 205 day adjusted weight of 789 lbs. He has been gaining 4.14 lbs. per day since mid November. He has lots of hair and a good disposition. He has lots of capacity through the middle and his mother has achieved Dam of Merit 3 times.

3102L Belly River Legend
In 2024 we were in need of a heifer bull. 3102L was in our bull pen and had great CE and BW numbers. His sire, RWG Holiday Inn H415 ET, had sired some very impressive calves for us and Royal Western Gelbvieh the year before so we decided to use him ourselves and we are so glad that we did! First off Legend has a very short gestation length. Last year over 1/3 of the heifers he bred had calved before due date based on 287 day gestations. Only 3 of the 42 exposed heifers, which was 100% of the ones he bred, required calving assistance. This past year he settled 41 out of 43, with the heifers being exposed for 61 days and most of them will calve during the first cycle and the calves are coming fast and easy. This year 20 have calved by due date! Most birth weights are under 80 lbs. We have convenience or hand pulled 4 and one was a hard pull. In the sale all of the Legend bred bulls are out of first calf heifers. Of the 8 different sire groups in this year’s sale the Legend sired calves are gaining an average of 3.335 lbs. per day which is the second highest of all the sire groups.

This past year has been full of firsts that we are really excited about. Paisley showed in her first ever cattle show (Chinook Jr Stock show) that then quickly turned into her 2nd (The National Junior Gelbvieh Show) and 3rd (Farm Fair) and to top this off Kathy showed for the first time at Farm fair. They both did great! This excitement then flew into us doing more ET work then we have ever done in the past to help accelerate our program and we are excited for the upcoming calf crop. This leads us to this year’s bull offering. This is the first year whereby we showed 2 bulls at Farm Fair that are on offer. They both gathered a lot of attention, and we were excited to show where our program has come from and where we are hoping to take it.
We can not thank Duane, Linda, and Jared Nelson, enough for continuing to allow us to partner up on what is our 5th joint bull sale. The conversations and hospitality are always a blessing so thank you!
This year features a solid set of 6 2-year-old bulls that match the direction we feel the cattle industry is headed. JAB Michigan 1M, is the definition of a power bull that will add pounds and performance to his calves. He is big topped, with lots of middle and capacity. He ranks in the top 1% of the breed for Weaning weight and Carcass weight, top 2% in Yearling weight and Carcass Ribeye, and 3% for Docility. He is backed by RWG Hashtag who we walked for 2 breeding seasons and RWG Captain who was the 2016 Canadian Bull Futurity Champion. Both these bulls were utilized in our program to add performance and capacity. His dam RJH FANCY LASS 7F has produced 3 bulls that have gone through this sale including his sibling JAB KODIAK 20K that is leaving some impressive females in our program as well as making some impressive calves in a local commercial program. To top this off, Michigan was the 2025 Grand Champion Balancer Bull at Farmfair this past Fall. He has a great disposition and will leave a long standing impression on his next program.
JAB Mushu 9M, Is a bull that brings it all together in a moderate homozygous black package. He is smooth shouldered and long bodied with a great foot under him. He has a balanced EPD profile with a respectable 719lb Adjusted weaning weight. This bull is backed by the maternal donor SLC Parkland 5E that has greatly impacted our program and PHG Enigma E32, the 2018 Grand Champion bull at Farm fair and 2017 Canadian Bull Futurity Champion. Enigma has very limited genetics available in Canada and the US, which makes this combination even more uniquely stamped. His sire JAB Knight 3K has 3 full sisters in our program that are rising to the top of our prospect pen. Expect Mushu to deliver black calves with added hair, a clean front 1/3rd and depth of body.

JAB Montana 11M, is a long-bodied bull with a deep lower quarter that carries his muscle well into his rear flank. He has a low birthweight of 83lbs and an adjusted weaning weight of 758lbs. His EPDs rank in the top 1% for Carcass weight and Ribeye, 2% in Weaning weight and 3% in Yearling Weight & Total Maternal and 3% in Yearling weight in the breed. His is backed by one of our original donor females SLC Parkland 5E and PHG Engima E32 and RWG Captain C701, both bulls that have left a massive impact on our breeding program specifically when it comes to growth and adding performance. His Dam, JAB Golactic 305G, has produced back to back sons that are making their way into our bull sale. Montana is a bull that will add length of body, hair, and performance in his calves.
Mississippi JAB

JAB Mississippi 12M, is the dark cherry red bull that catches your eye as soon as you walk in the pen. He is deep middled, clean fronted, well carry a great deal of capacity from front to rear. He has a moderate BW of 86lbs, an adjusted WW 823lb and YW of 1415lbs. You have to respect how wide he is across the top and how clean he is through his shoulder and front 1/3rd . His sire, JAB Keepin it Cool 6K is backed by our prolific donor SLC Parkland 31E. The combination of SLC 31E and SLC Masterplan 58C has further left 3 donor quality females in our program that continue to move our program forward. Mississippi’s dam, RWG Lora J421, is stacked with maternal dominance that goes back to the famous SLC 164Y. Mississippi, was shown at Farm fair this past fall and gathered a lot of interest. He has a great disposition and is one to circle on sale day.

JAB Mickey 315M, is a stout made bull that is impressive in his make up. He is deep middled, square over his hip and has a mature look to him. His moderate BW of 85lbs makes him very versatile. He is backed by some impressive red Genetics that go back to RWG Guilt trip G418 a SLC Parkland 31E son and the calving ease maternal heavy JAB Hot Chocolate 4G. Mickey was a bull that we used to clean up our heifers last year and we are excited about his progeny. He will add hair, depth of body, natural muscle to his calves. If you are looking for an outcross red bull, Mickey should make it to the top of your list.

Molson JAB
JAB Molson 402M, is a homozygous black, long-made performance bull from genetics that have proven to work in our program. Of all of the RWG Hashtag son’s we have raised Molson profiles the most similar to his sire in the way he is made and gets out on the move. Molson ranks in the top 3% in WW & CW, and 4% for CREA, MWT, and CERY in the breed. As can be seen in other bulls in our offering the combination of RWG Hashtag and RWG Captain have truly moved the needle when it comes to the direction the cattle industry is heading. If you are looking for black calves that will be long bodied, deep and hairy that has a lot performance that will top the market than Molson is the bull that should be at the top of your list.

HOW TO BID IN A TIMED AUCTION
Now that you are logged in and your account phone number / email is verified you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.
Place Next Bid – to place the next bid on the item, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.
Max Bid Amount – to place a max bid you put your max bid in the second box listed as “Max Bid” on the item, and then click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the max amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidential from the seller during the sale process.
Example of How the Max Bid Works - If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you
but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot competing against each other.
WATCH LIST FEATURE
If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch with out having to scroll through the entire list you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button, by clicking this “watchlist” Icon that item is added to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of just your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.
SALE ENDING / CLOSEOUT
Most FarmGate Timed Auction sales close racehorse style with extended bidding.
What is Racehorse Style Close? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.
How will Extended Bidding work? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.
BIDDING CLOSE & FOLLOW-UP
After the clock has gone to “ENDED” and no bidding has occurred for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot. Or as the winning bidder you can contact the sale consignor / sale manager to confirm payment instructions. Please make sure that your account info is upto-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this is how the billing is sent to Sale manager and/or Sale consignor.

Terms & Conditions
TERMS OF SALE: Cash or cheque at par, payable to the clerks of the sale on sale day. US funds will be accepted at the current rate of exchange. No release will be given until satisfactory settlement has been made. Full payment shall constitute a final sale and then registration papers will be transferred.
EXPORT SALES; All cattle sell with appropriate health papers and consignors will cover the costs of health papers for all International sales. Delivery of cattle will be to the nearest port of entry into the USA, buyer is responsible for all transportation costs beyond nearest port of entry.
HEALTH: All sale cattle meet the Canadian Health standards. Foreign buyers are responsible for knowing the current health standards of their country.
GUARANTEE: All Sale cattle are guaranteed under the terms and conditions of Sale as recommended by the Canadian Gelbvieh Association. Bulls in the sale are sold based on bulls that are sound, fertile and reproductive for the first breeding season. If there is an issue claims must be made by September 1, 2026 and have been inspected by a registered veterinarian. If a problem occurs, please call the breeder immediately and we will work with you to either find a replacement or a sale credit for the following year. This guarantee does not cover death, injury, or mismanagement.
INSURANCE: Ownership commences to the purchaser as soon as the animal is sold. Please contact Stockmens Insurance (number listed at front of catalogue), to look after your insurance requirements. Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of the buyers, the owners, sale manager or representatives assume any responsibility in these matters and disclaims any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of an accident or loss of property.
