WELCOME

Welcome to the 12th Annual Bull Sale at Gilchrist Farms!

We are thrilled to present an exceptional lineup of bulls from breeders who I have great respect for;Iris Creek, Elmbank Farms, Rehorst Farms and of course our own program. This year, we have curated an outstanding selection of Angus, Simmental, and Hereford bulls, all ready to take your herd to the next level. These bulls are all semen tested and were developed on a high forage diet to ensure long lasting and functionality while still allowing performance and genetic difference to show through.

We take pride in providing our customers with high-quality genetics that will calve easy and perform both on the hoof and on the rail. With our fully owned abattoir we are always looking for cattle to process and market direct to customers as well as our wholesale partners. Don’t miss reaching out to us about our premium program designed for those looking to harness extra value from their genetics. We are eager to discuss how we can enhance your operation with GF bulls and females!

In addition to our impressive bulls, we are excited to offer an elite selection of halter-broke females, all ready to breed the way you want them. New this year we will also be offering long bred females due to calve as well as a few that will sell with calves at side.

We look forward to seeing you at Gilchrist Farms and sharing in some hospitality!

FROM THE DESK AT T BAR C Welcome

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 12th Annual Mid-Western Angus & Simmental Bull & Female Sale hosted by Gilchrist Farms, along with Rehorst Farms Ltd. and Iris Creek Farms.

This event has grown into one of the premier seedstock sales in Eastern Canada, and with good reason. The strength of this offering lies not only in numbers, but in the depth of quality and consistency throughout the catalogue. From the largest offering of Black Angus bulls east of the Manitoba border to an impressive set of Simmental and Hereford genetics, the program reflects years of disciplined breeding decisions and a strong cow base behind every lot.

The bulls are practical, functional cattle — designed for commercial cattlemen who demand calving ease, structural integrity, maternal strength, and performance that pays at weaning and beyond. Many lots feature balanced EPD profiles supported by proven cow families, and several individuals rank near the top of the breed in key economically relevant traits. These are cattle built to work in real-world conditions and add value to your bottom line.

Equally important is the integrity of the families behind this sale. The Gilchrist, Rehorst, and Ribey families stand firmly behind their programs and the cattle they produce. Their commitment to customer service and long-term relationships is evident year after year, and it is a privilege for T Bar C to represent operations that share these values. We look forward to working with you on sale day and appreciate your interest in this outstanding set of genetics.

Guarantee: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Angus Association with regard to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness.

FROM IRIS CREEK FARMS Welcome

First, we would like to thank Brad, Kristie and Peyton for including us in the Mid Western Ontario Bull Sale and developing our bulls this past winter. I can’t really think of 3 other people that jam 28 hours of work into every day the way these 3 do!!

We would also like to congratulate you, the person reading this. You are stubborn, hard working, dedicated, optimistic and the backbone of this nation. It would have been easier to quit, but you fought through decades of terrible prices, equipment breakdowns, drought, blizzards, mud….sometimes all in the same week. Now you have finally arrived at this point where you are being financially rewarded for producing the most nutritious, delicious and sustainable product available to feed families.

We run 200 cows with the help of 3 great kids and their partners. We’ve been fortunate to raise feeder cattle that consistently sell at the top of the feeder market and we’d like to help you do the same!! Ontario feeder cattle prices are often the very highest in North America. In Ontario we have an exceptionally professional feeding industry along with many cow calf producers that invest in high quality genetics. While we think our bull offering has many different opportunities, the one thing we base our entire herd on is great cows. We are confident that all of these bulls offer not just the opportunity to produce highly marketable calves, but also replacements that you can build a herd around.

We love to talk cattle, give us a call and tell us what you are looking for. We look forward to seeing everybody on March 28 at Gilchrist’s.

One of the most important decisions producers need to make is selecting the right bull for their herd. Not only does that decision dictate the opportunities for the following calf

but it sets in motion annual opportunities through retained females building generational value in terms of genetic potential. Phenotypic attributes such as structure, bold and robust spring of rib,

muscle dimension, breed character and temperament are all things that are extremely important in a good sire. Once you find a bull that covers all of those bases in today’s world where pounds pay

one needs to ensure that the genetic package that we are making generational decisions on has the

to propel a herd forward. The brutal truth is that getting all of this in one

is extremely

Ellingson Landman 4358 is that genetic package for us. Simply put, it is your decision whether you want to be a part of Landman or not, but I can assure you finding a genetic package combined with the phenotypic attributes he possesses is extremely difficult. Stored at Bovitech.
