It’s that time of year again! Welcome back for our third annual Bull & Open Heifer Sale – thank you to all those that have supported us the last 2 years with purchasing an animal, bidding or inquiring.
What an exciting time to be involved in the cattle industry! Us producers are finally being rewarded for all the hard work, time and dedication it takes to succeed. There is no time like the present to be investing in your herds by purchasing some top bulls help you towards your goals.
We have had a lot of excitement amongst our family since the last bull sale season and have been as busy as ever following kids around. Bryanna is still residing in Boissevain and nursing at the local Personal Care home – she makes us proud every day with her compassion for the elderly. Rylee and Levi have had a big year! They got engaged in August and we are busy planning a wedding to occur at our farm this summer and they are busy organizing for a new home to be moved onto Levi’s family farm this spring. Rylee also took a new job at Richardson Pioneer in Shoal Lake and is really enjoying it. Parker graduated High School and has been busy discovering what path he would like to forge into adult hood. Madelyn is in her Grade 10 year and still as much in love with the cattle as ever; if there is one kid you can find in the barn or corals it is her. She has kept us busy playing both JV and Varsity school sports such as volleyball, basketball and softball and has been enjoying working at Killarney Auction Mart in her spare time. Sam is now in grade 8 and involved in basketball and hockey but his real passion is a good deal on Marketplace; he is a real collector. Jayce is still very much the sports kid with a love for both playing hockey and ball but also knowing a good deal of stats on the professional leagues. All three younger kids are very involved in the local 4-H Beef Club and have been working away at their market steers that are to sell this June.
We lucked out and had a pretty good summer for rain and temperature and benefited with some good pastures. The bull calves got to stay out on grass a little longer than usual and were than brought home and gradually introduced to a TMR diet. This consists of corn silage, whole oats, protein pellets and tub ground straw. We work closely with a nutritionist to get their diet right so that we can showcase their natural growing abilities without hurting their overall long-term development. These bulls are going to maintain their condition after sale day.
As you can see by looking throughout the catalogue a lot of bulls offered this year are sired by bulls that we have raised in prior years – this should show you that we believe in what we are producing here for you as we are confident in using them in our own herd. We have a strong culling regimen here with our females so that we are keeping the genetics around that we want to pass onto new generations. Dams must be high milking, sound uddered, good footed and have a nice disposition to stay on the farm.
The open heifers we have on offer have been treated and raised the exact same as the replacements that are staying home. Our goal with the females is to feed them accordingly to make good, hard working and long lasting females.

McRuer Simmentals retains the right to draw semen on all sale bulls for in-herd use at buyer’s convenience and the seller’s cost.
BULL GUARANTEE
All bulls will be semen tested and scrotal measured prior to the sale, information will be available sale day. Should a bull fail to breed, he will be replaced or a credit will be provided to the buyer.
HERD HEALTH
All cattle are up to date on Ivermec, Clean-Up, Ultrabac 7 and Bovi-Shield Gold.All breeding stock is given the ScourGuard vaccine and booster. Plus all sale bulls given Fusoguard for foot rot prior to sale.
DELIVERY
Free delivery on the bulls to central points in Western Canada. We will do our best to get them right to your place. Distances further will be on a cost share basis. All animals returning to the sellers farm MUST be insured. Bulls can be kept on farm until May 1st free of charge and then after that it will be $3.00/day.
FOR US BUYERS
Our sales are conducted in Canadian funds. The U.S. exchange rate will be available at the settlement desk. Upon successful purchase of an animal, the consignor will assist with the necessary documentation and health exams to export your animal to the U.S. An additional fee of $300.00 U.S. per animal will be charged for this service, and is due at time of settlement. Transportation and brokerage fees are not included in the price.

The Transcon Team is available to anyone that cannot personally attend to confidentially appraise, bid and buy on your behalf. This service is conflict-free as we are not paid any buying incentive fees by the sellers and we are not active Simmental breeders. Jeff had a hard time letting this blood red, soggy, hairy bull leave the yard so when we had a conversation with Garth last year about the option to purchase him back after the loss of our walking bull we sure jumped on it. Terms and Conditions
TERMS - The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.
BID - No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.
SALES TAXES – Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.
DISPUTES - In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final.
PURCHASER’S RISK - Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time.
INSURANCE – Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured. Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured.
US BUYERS – There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer.
CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED - The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate.
ANNOUNCEMENTS – All announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY - A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.
SHIPPING - Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.
BREEDERS GUARANTEE - As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price.
EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE - In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.
HEALTH - It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.
EMBRYO & SEMEN – Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.
ACCIDENTS - Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS - The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

IS AGENT ONLY - It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations. Neither does Transcon Livestock Corp. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties. Any legal action that may be taken, in exceptional cases, must be between buyer and seller.
