Welcome to the 5th annual McIntosh Ranch Bull and Female Sale. We are extremely proud of the bulls we are offering this year. The first calves off RF Intensity 3142 look very promising and we will continue to use him heavily in our A.I. arsenal. Successful flush of SBSF 76D and TLAS 42H has given us the opportunity to offer you a tremendous set of full brothers in this year’s sale.
What a time to be in the cattle industry! Producers getting paid record setting prices makes a day at work 10 times better. Many times through the ring this fall, I saw lots of steer calves fetch $3900-$4200 right off the cow with sisters not trading too far behind. Calf prices stayed steady right through the fall and into the new year. I had the privilege to sell a few reputable sets of dispersal cows at Ste Rose, with top quality bred females trading for $6000-$7200. Short term ROI seems promising, with calf prices maintaining.
You will notice in this year’s sale we are not offering any purebred heifer calves. We finally had a calving season that gave us a few more bulls and a lot less heifers. We expanded this year and were able to purchase another yard site and block of land, and therefore decided to retain all our females and expand the herd to fill the new pastures.
Its great to have Jonathan Karsin back again this year with three outstanding bulls. This year Karsin’s bulls were developed along side ours since weaning. This year was extremely dry in our area of the Interlake, dry dugouts, poor pasture conditions and 5 tonne corn silage was the gist of things. We weaned our bull calves early September and they received their second dose of Bovi One Shot and Ultrabac 7 and were started on a TMR ration that consisted of Alfalfa hay, corn silage, oats, canola meal and rolled corn. The bulls are now transitioned to a TMR ration of; Alfalfa Hay, corn silage, rolled corn and soybean meal. Bulls were pictured end of January. Definitely check out their videos closer to sale day as they are still growing and gaining. Again this year two pens of commercial heifers will be offered; one from Karsin Farms and another from Crooked Post Ranch. Check them out, they would both be sets to grow a herd with. How to Bid
1. Click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your user name and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions.
2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity.
3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest.
4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale. In Most cases the time gets shorter the longer in to extended bidding the sale is. When no bidding occurs for the extended time the computer will declare the sale finished.
5. Following the sale the McIntosh Ranch will invoice all buyers in the sale, please contact the seller with questions or to arrange delivery, pick up or shipping of your purchases.

MRK 541N is the first of the flush brothers to be featured! He earns the lot 1 spot. Super soggy, loose hided, jam packed with red meat! SBSF 76D is a no misscow! We purchased her out of the Schweitzer herd dispersal and she was hands down my pick of the herd. Her first calf born on the farm was sold to Berts NR Simmentals as a bred heifer. 76D continued to lay down and give us heifer calves year after year and although they all had different sires, the quality was strong and as her daughters became producers themselves, they quickly made an impact in the calf pen. Fall of 2024 it was decided we would flush 76D. First flush was to SVS Tycoon with unreal results so we made the choice to flush again fresh and we implanted 17 #1s to Sunny Valley Rancher 42H. Take the time to analyze these brothers, super impressive in their own way. 541N is a individual that you will drive a long ways to find one made any better. MRK 523N is a 3/4 sib to lot 8. This stylish blaze faced bull has made lots of friends, out of a first calf heifer with only a 72LB BW. Let him loose on some heifers with some CE in them. His dam is out of our Bewitched cow family who is one of our top cow families here at the farm.
MRK 503N, or better known as Prince, was calf at foot for Bexley’s 4-H continuation heifer Julianna MRK 311L. Moderate in size but full of punch. Sired by WLB Top Tier, the red calving ease bull who needs no introduction. Prince, along side 311L were Champion Inter club Continuation Heifer at our 4-H achievement, Champion Female at the MSA Summer Show & YCSA Summer Show. Later that summer they headed to MB Youth Beef Round Up where she was Champion Simmental Female and later being selected as the Supreme Champion Overall Female.

I decided to bring back some older but very proven genetics mating Kop Crosby to arguably my most perfectly constructed black cow on the ranch and it sure clicked. KFJ 3N is a powerful bull. He’s long spined, stout in his hip and heavy boned with a big square foot. He was the heavy weight at weaning which comes as no surprise as this cow family is what my black program is built around. MR 513N is a punch of a bull. At first look you would think he is only a cow bull with the amount of hip and red meat this bull carries. One of the biggest Angus bulls in the sale. Turn him loose in the heifer pen, these Square Deal calves are the real deal. We love how small they are when born but grow like bad weeds. I would say Square Deal is getting to be our go to heifer bull.

The heifers are fancy made, sound structured and should develop into top end bred heifers. Sired by sons of Bentley, True North, Integrity and Manchester. Health protocol, black leg in spring, Bovishield gold 1 shot, ultrabac 7 and ivomec in fall. Heifers has been on a TMR ration consisting of alfalfa hay, alfalfa haylage, corn silage and grain corn. Heifers will be palpated by vet.

HERD HEALTH:
Our cow herd health program is Pfizer Gold FP5. All bulls received Once PMH & Inforce 3 at birth with double shots of Bovi shield gold one shot and Ultrabac 7/ Somubac.
DELIVERY:
We will do our best to door step deliver each bull, however we can only guarantee delivery to central points in MB, SK, AB, and SW Ont. We will coordinate trucking where/when it is needed and make sure your purchases arrive in a safe and timely matter.
WINTERING BULLS:
Free of Charge until May 15th, $2.50/day after May 15th, unless prior arrangements to sale day are made with Kolton.
All bulls staying at the ranch after sale day MUST BE INSURED.
US CUSTOMERS:
we strongly recommend our USA neighbors to take a look at our offering and take advantage of the dollar. please be in touch with Kolton to discuss delivery into the USA as we will do our best to accommodate you.
DECISION DEFERRED BULLS:
We stand behind our bulls 110% any bulls sold DD will be sold in confidence of a future passing semen test. We will guarantee the bulls. In the case of a bull not passing we will provide you with a back up bull. If one of your picks is DD please call Kolton to discuss further in depth.
