Lone Stone Farms Simmental & Red Angus Bull Sale - Westlock, AB

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2026 | 1:30 PM MST AT THE FARM | WESTLOCK, AB

Our Guest Lunch starts at 11:30am on Sale Day!

Welcome to our 2026 Bull Sale....

This year marks our 42nd year of registering cattle. We are getting to be the older generation in the purebred business. How did that happen? We have seen a lot of changes over the years. The fads have gone from frame score 7 to belly draggers that barely make a frame score 4. Narrow cattle and double muscled cattle. We have seen long wiener bodied cattle with extreme carcass yield and short deep chested cattle that barely made 50% cutability. Fortunately for us Karen’s dad was an astute cattleman and he taught us to pick one type and not deviate. Finding structural correctness and proper balance and smoothness.

As we have already calved out 40 of these heifers, I keep catching myself saying…these girls are as close to our idea of perfection as we have ever come.

As I walk and drive through the bull pens, I am also seeing a more consistent type from top to bottom of the pen. Bulls that have required less feed and have grown and muscled better than their predecessors. We encourage you to come out and view the bulls. Talk to Karen or Nathan for in-depth evaluation and insight into the blood line of bulls you’re interested in. Our sales team will also help you with an honest visual evaluation and assist in your bidding.

Join us sale day, maybe it will be as warm as last year and you can catch Karen in her flip flops. We have a large, heated building with great food, indoor washrooms, play area for the kids, and comfortable seating for the sale.

See you on the 27th of February!

ANNUAL BULL & FEMALE SALE

Friday, February 27, 2026 - 1:30 PM At The Farm - Westlock, AB

Welcome from Transcon Livestock...

We are pleased to welcome you to the Annual Lone Stone Farms Bull Sale. Lonnie and Karen, along with Nathan, Alisha, and the rest of the family, are excited to host you on sale day and truly appreciate your interest in their program.

Nearly 25 years of selling bulls has shaped this event into one of the most dependable and well-supported sales of the year. With a strong base of repeat buyers and a growing reputation for quality and hospitality, Lone Stone Farms continues to attract both long-time supporters and new customers alike. Their sale facility reflects that commitment—designed to be comfortable, welcoming, and family-friendly.

At Lone Stone Farms, the focus has always been on the customer. All bulls sell with no retained semen interest and no retained ownership, allowing buyers full confidence and flexibility. As Lonnie often says, his goal is to see customers succeed— and profit—using Lone Stone genetics. That mindset has built lasting relationships and a level of customer service that truly sets this program apart.

This year’s offering includes one of the largest selection of virgin two-year-old bulls Lone Stone Farms have offered. These bulls are not pushed through a dry feedlot over the summer. Instead, they are developed on pasture and wintered in large areas, encouraging soundness, durability, and natural athleticism. Both the Red Angus and Simmental two-year-olds provide a wide range of options—from calving ease to added power and performance.

The yearling bulls are equally impressive. Developed with longevity in mind, they are free moving, responsibly managed, and never over-conditioned. Buyers will find depth in both calving ease and growth across the Red Angus and Simmental yearling offerings. Nearly every bull in the sale is sired by a walking herd bull from Lone Stone Farms, resulting in consistent, uniform sire groups.

Early-season sales often provide a pricing advantage, and this offering presents an excellent opportunity to secure high-quality Red Angus and Fleckvieh Simmental bulls before the spring market tightens. Working with the Brown family is always a pleasure—they are genuine, approachable, and deeply committed to their customers. It won’t take long before you feel right at home.

If you’re unable to attend the sale in person, please don’t hesitate to contact any member of the Transcon team—we’re happy to assist in any way we can. We look forward to seeing you on sale day.

We have sold 2 bulls and have 2 females in our herd out of her. This guy can really stride out, is very athletic. This cow has never had a calf over 100lbs.

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Sire Verified. Non-Diluter. The Baldwin line has power. Need more power? This might be the bull for you. His dam is out of Champs Tommy, a bull we should have used more. 3 of her daughters in the herd. One son sold to 5W Simmental in our 2025 sale. This bull is checking all the boxes.

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Sire Verified. Very deep sided bull. It was worth keeping him till 2 to see how he would grow out. I knew he would be good. His mother’s eighth calf. He’s had a lot of attention when posted this picture on our Facebook page. Gotta say one of my favorite 2 yr olds.

Scurred/Polled Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Parent Verified. Non-Diluter. This guy was 13Y’s twelfth calf. Lots of fertility in this cow line. He will sire structurally correct offspring. I think his females will be great. 13Y was sired by a son of Bar 5 SA Evan 440L, and we had so many good females from him. They are all gone now.

Polled Fullblood

Polled Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Parent Verified. This guy is my favorite Cashmere son of the group. Looking at his stats, I would encourage anyone to give him a good look. Moderate birthweight, polled head and phenotypically really catches the eye. Walks out athletically with a good size foot under him.

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Parent Verified. Non-Diluter. 3 bulls have been sold off 192G and 1 female to Andrew Kuschminder. We bought her at our sale from Diamond T and she’s made us nothing but money. She’s a moderate sized cow, but this bull has plenty of stature and plenty of performance. Don’t overlook him.

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Sire Verified. Non-Diluter. This bull is dark red, almost black red if there is such a color. He is out of a cow that John Wolfe said was his favorite cow in our herd. I’m not sure what she weights but it’s plenty. This is her eight calf, we’ve sold 2 sons and 2 daughters. We’ve got a 2025 female out of Hendrix that will not be priced out of our hands.

JNR WHITNEY PERF:

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Tests Pending. The bull is out of a Cashmere daughter we sold to Gayle. He’s got stature, a great hair coat, and a great disposition. You should get moderate birthweights coming from the JNR Koda bull. Very eye appealing.

Scurred/Polled.

I wish I could tell you the sire of this bull but our DNA search has exhausted all of our herd sires. My conclusion? He’s half Red Angus and half Fullblood. Nevertheless, he’s a darn good bull. This big strong boy will cover a lot of cows

STONE Sully

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Parentage Verified. Non-Dluter. Our only 2 year old Sully. Best not to use him on heifers, as he came out with a bit more birthweight. His maternal grandmother was purchased from Keets Simmental. She has the most perfect udder.

Polled Fullblood. Full Fleckvieh. Sire Verified. We bought the dam of this bull from Swantewitt Simmentals. You could use him for a heifer bull.

This bull got missed in picture pen. In 2024 we lost a few ears due to weather. This guys are a little shorter than they should be. We usually have a bit more birthweight on the Banknote sons. Length of spine definitely adds a few pounds at birth. This guy is Rosette 90F’s fifth calf. The Indeed bloodline shows up in the back of his pedigree. Use on cows.

RED W SUNRISE BANK NOTE 284G Sire of Lots 30-34, 61-66
RED DERSTA MOONSHINE

Test Pending.

He’s a light birthweight bull but not a heifer bull. His maternal line has plenty of power with Flex and Damage in the pedigree. He is our 2nd heaviest 2yr old Red Angus at 2044 lbs. Sure to get some amazing steers out of him. A cow bull here. Parent Verified.

Long bodied and highly muscled is how I would describe this bull. A cow bull for sure. I’ve always appreciated this guy’s dam. She is deep hipped and very feminine. Females off this guy would be something to look forward to.

Test pending.

This guy looks like his sire, Dakota. For sure, a heifer bull. His granddam 26A was certainly one of our top producing cows back in the day! Her daughter 13K looks like the type to be a top producer in our herd.

VIRGINIA MARQUEE 423D MJB HADRIAN 39H MJB TILLY 2T

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Sire Verified. Non-Diluter. This is a bull that catches everyone’s attention when entering the bull pen. His disposition is absolutely amazing. He is so long spined and is out highest performing bull. 69E has produced a couple of bulls for our bull sale, and we have a Cashmere daughter in our cowherd. She is the last of the Champs Tommy females. She is unique!

LONE STONE Hadrian 238N

VIRGINIA MARQUEE

Horned Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Parent Verified. Non-Diluter. A very average looking female this bull is out of. We’ve never had a female out of her. One bulls to Aaron Terpsmain 2024. Hadrian really worked well on her. Deep red hair coat with lots of hair.

LONE STONE Hadrian 217N

Polled Fullblood P1506613 LNK 217N Jan 10,

Polled Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Parent Verified. Non-Diluter. This bull goes back maternally to Wolfe’s Caitlin FF 37C, Lonnie’s favorite cow. She’s a nice big cow, this being her 3rd calf. One is a daughter in the herd and another sold to Bob Skiba in 2025 bull sale. She’s a heavy milker. With a Hadrian son you can expect great females. I kept all my Hadrian bred heifers this year, never sold one. They are darn good!

Polled Fullblood. 100% Fleckvieh. Sire Verified. Non-Diluter. Hendrix mated very well with 136G, a cow we purchased from Diamond T Simmentals in one of our female sales. This is her fifth calf, and she has the distinction of every calf has lived and been sold for cash flow for the farm. Her 2024 bull calf is being retained by us for a herd sire. 136G is a moderate

300B is a cow Nathan bought from Big Sky. This bull is her ninth calf. Three bulls have been sold in past bull sales and a female sold to Westgold in 2024. We’ve kept a Cashmere female for ourselves. This bull has lots of grow and performance like his Mama. 890lb weaning wt with no creep.

Polled. Non-Diluter. We only had this guys dam with our Epic bull but he failed that test. So we tested every herd sire on the farm with no positive results. At this time he will be sold without papers. Very disappointed as this is an excellent yearling bull.

RED LWNBRG SLOWBURN 224K

We’ve always considered the dam of this bull, 41F, to be a top end cow, she has 2 daughters in the herd. This is her first son. Very deep in the heart girth. Black feet and black hair on his face and tail. Stand behind him and you will see how wide he is. You don’t have to see him to want to buy him.

I sure like the picture of this bull. Very muscled and wide across the top. We don’t blow these bulls off going into the picture pen. Just run them down the alley and put them in one at a time. This year just Nathan and Mackenzie were in the picture pen…oh and an emotional support bull as well to keep the bull being pictured not feel so alone. Lots of length of spine this guy has. His dam has only produced bulls; a couple have been sold in past sales. He has a Knight mom and a Rockafeller grandmother. So, he’s definitely got performance on both sides of the pedigree. Red Angus

WHEEL BANK NOTE 16E

BROWN CREEK ELLIE 882U 49A

Of all the Banknote sons being offered this year, this guy is my favorite. Seriously considered keeping him to use, but really wanted him to be seen, and have his genetics go to another herd. He was our heaviest Red Angus bull at weaning. His mom, a Top Secret daughter, out of a Redman daughter. Literally the good genetics are stacked on maternal side. I think his picture will sell you on him.

A big rugged, stout bull, deep in heart girth and deep in flank. I love the black hair on his face and tail. Don’t know his scrotal size yet but they look big. He’s maybe the calf that looks most like Banknote. The old guy has been sold to a commercial customer at Carstairs.

This calf is 73E’s seventh calf. We have sold 3 sons in past sales and have one daughter working for us. Other than her very first calf she has always raised over 700lb weaning wts and calved in first cycle 7 times. What more can you ask of a cow.

A heifer bull prospect. His dam has no ears but that does not stop her from being a good producer. This guy is her second calf, and I can report she has calved already, making her a threepeat. Has calved in first cycle from her first calf. A pattern that is gratifying to see.

RED LONE STONE Utopia 108N

JAILBREAK 27H

A definite heifer bull prospect. Utopia was purchased from Allison Red Angus. He has been a dependable heifer bull for us. His dam, a Banknote daughter, has a great udder. Just what we like to see in a first calver.

LONE STONE MABEL 97L

We are using a son out of Flying K Max. This guy is out of that first calving. He’s a deep red color. We used Justamax on heifers. Not all calves were small, but we never pulled any so they are built right. I would be cautious on heifers, definitely second calvers.
