Lone Star Angus Power Up Bull Sale - Lacombe County, AB
Welcome to the 2026 Lone Star Angus Bull Sale
The beef business continues to reward producers who make disciplined, performance-driven decisions. With the Canadian cow herd at historically low numbers and demand for quality beef remaining strong, opportunity is real - but only for those positioned to capture it. Strong markets don’t hide inefficiencies; they expose them. Average cattle still sell, but elite genetics quietly return more dollars per cow and per acre.
At Lone Star Angus, we believe profit starts with measured performance. Pounds pay. Fertility matters. Consistency is non-negotiable. The bulls in this offering are backed by real data - birth weights you can trust, weaning and yearling performance that converts to pounds on the truck, and carcass merit that adds value when calves hit the rail. These are bulls built to work from the calving pen to the consumer’s plate. Calving ease is essential, but so is calf vigor. We focus on cattle that are born unassisted, get up, nurse, and thrive. Moderate birth weights paired with length, muscle, and growth create calves that perform from day one and continue paying dividends through weaning, backgrounding, and harvest. More pounds, more consistency, more profit.
All bulls sell in breeding condition - not feedlot condition. They are developed on a balanced, high-roughage ration in large runs. Structural integrity, soundness, disposition, and fertility are non-negotiables. Bulls that don’t travel, don’t settle cows, or don’t perform are culled - period. Our Farm-to-Plate program allows us to be exceptionally selective, keeping only bulls that prove they can produce cattle that grow, grade, and convert. The beef business does not stop at the ranch gate. The retail consumer -the housewife standing at the meat counter - ultimately decides the value of every calf born. Her buying power, expectations, and confidence in beef quality ripple backward through the entire beef chain, influencing carcass premiums, feeder prices, and ultimately the value of the cow herd. Quality on the plate is what sustains demand and keeps dollars flowing back to the ranch.
In 2026, the risk isn’t paying too much for a bull - it’s leaving money on the table with genetics that don’t perform.
With the many bull-buying options available today, thank you for choosing Lone Star Angus. We appreciate the opportunity to be part of your program and are proud to offer a set of profit-driven, performance-proven Angus bulls for 2026.

The Bull Stops Here
Simply put we’re a complete program
It’s easy for consumers to notice a higher beef price and wonder why. The truth is, producing quality beef has never been more expensive - or more critical.
● Diesel fuel for tractors, feed trucks, and pickups has risen over 300% in the last 30 years.
● Farm trucks now cost $90,000+ - up from $30,000 just a generation ago.
● Feed, fertilizer, and vet care have all more than doubled.
● Meanwhile, Canada’s cattle herd has declined by 15%, while our population has grown by over 20%.
Despite these rising costs, beef still delivers unmatched nutrition, flavour, and satisfaction. High-quality protein cannot be manufactured in a factory - it takes years of care, genetics, and management.
For the cow-calf producer, this is not a reason to feel guilty about pricing. Instead, it is a call to focus on what truly matters: producing the best possible product. When you deliver consistent, quality beef, the consumer doesn’t reach for cheaper proteins -they reach for your product, knowing it’s worth it.
Invest in genetics. Invest in care. Deliver value. That’s how we keep beef at the top of the plate.
We are taking farm-to-plate to the next level. 207,000lbs of Lone Star Angus beef was marketed directly to 5000 family tables in 2025.
In 2025 we processed 230 angus beef. However this has created a problem for us; Lone Star Angus Beef has grown bigger than we can service with our own cattle. We don’t want to source just any old beef, we want the best. By developing a Lone Star Angus Calf Buyback loyalty program we are creating a win win situation. Our Lone Star Angus bull customers will be eligible for $.05 - $.10 premium above current market prices, and Lone Star Angus will be able to service the demand for our Lone Star Angus Beef products by accessing more Lone Star Angus genetics therefore ensuring our customers will still be getting the same high quality Lone Star Angus Beef they have become accustomed to.

ADVICE That Still Holds Up
“Watch cattle, not the clock.”
Animals don’t read schedules. Problems show up when they’re ready.
“A good cow doesn’t need excuses.”
Fertility, soundness, and disposition matter—year after year.
“If you have to force it, it isn’t right.”
From calving to breeding decisions, pressure usually makes things worse.
“Fix the cause, not the symptom.”
Bad feet? Look at minerals and footing. Poor gains?
Look at feed and health—not just genetics.
“The best medicine is prevention.”
Clean water, good feed, and observation save more calves than any drug.
“If they quit eating, you’re already behind.”
“Fix the pen before you doctor the cow.”
“Calves die faster from cold than sickness.”
“If it smells bad, it probably is.”
