I want to welcome you to our fall female sale. It’s fitting that this year the sale has moved to Kisbey, the town I lived near when my love of Herefords began. I still have clear memories of my first ever champion at the 1983 achievement day of the Arcola-Kisbey 4-H club. I was so lucky to be around great Hereford ranchers. To watch and learn from them. And I still do to this day. I use the knowledge I gain to learn what it takes to truly produce a seedstock herd that is functional, attractive and profitable. And over the next few months I look forward to sharing the results through the offering of the herd. This sale is a strong sample of what is on offer. One of the best lessons I learned was to trust the genetics you produce in your own herd. It became a goal to breed females and bulls I was proud to use myself. I think our herd bull battery is a good testament to that. Merlin, Journey, Stand for Action and Budweiser are all bulls with mass, shape and performance whose mothers are all from the top end of the herd. Their genetics are unique and useful to everyone. The new young bulls incorporated on the heifers, Lance 719N who is a impressive dark coloured goggle eyed son of Glitz, and Magic 3N who was just crowned champion bull at Beef-a-Rama is an ultra low birthweight son of Merlin. And finally the new genetics introduced through AI from top North American herds include On Demand, Liberty, Glitz and Lonestar. They compliment the ideals I have for raising functional, profitable cattle that I enjoy looking at in the pasture. I think you will too. TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque, payable at par at sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement has been made; no invoicing on buyers in attendance unless previous arrangements have been made. Every animal sells to the highest bidder and in cases of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision will be final. Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Current exchange rates will be announced sale day. All monies are in Canadian funds. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Hereford Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after payment has been made. PEDIGREE ESTIMATES: Pedigree Estimates (PE) are created on the projected mating of the animal’s sire and dam based on averages of the two, creating estimated values that do not hold the same accuracy of actual EPDs issued from the association and should be used as such. HEALTH: All animals in the sale have met all necessary health requirements. GUARANTEE: Each animal becomes the purchaser’s risk immediately after the animal is sold. All animals in this sale will be sold under the terms and guarantees set forth by the Canadian Hereford Association with regards to health, freedom from defects and from both reproductive and specific genetic unsoundness. PREGNANCY INFORMATION: All serviceable age females have been pregnancy examined by an accredited veterinarian.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Cattle or genetics sold to buyers outside of Canada may require export permits and health certificates. The buyer will be responsible for the costs in producing these export documents. LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk. The seller, facility owner and sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents that occur. It is understood that T Bar C Cattle Co.
