WELCOME TO OUR SALE
Welcome to the LaBatte Simmentals 46th Annual Spring Bull and Female Sale! Can’t believe it’s already been a year since our 45th sale – how time flies, and it seems faster every year! What a great time to be in the cattle business! Steer Calves selling for $3000 - $4000, Bred Heifers selling for $6000 - $8000 and Cull Bulls up to $7000. What a great time to invest in good young herd bulls. I truly believe that this cattle market is going to be good for a few years with the low cow numbers in the U.S. and Canada.
We would like to again thank all of the bidders and buyers from our past sales, your continued support and effort to attend our sales or bid online is very much appreciated. Many of you have become lifelong friends, not just customers. Kyron and I both think that this is the most consistent group that we have ever offered, whether you are looking for Red, Black or Fullblood Bulls.
Again, I’d like to thank our family back home for their dedication and hard work. This is truly a family operation, as we make a living with the cattle and grain farming. Lynlee runs the grain side of our operation and helps with the cattle side whenever he can. His wife Hayley is a big part of our operation too, helping with the cattle, AI’ing, clipping and showing. She has played a significant role in assisting me with the advertising and books. Brodyn has taken on a big part in our operation now that he is back home farming and ranching. He’s been given a lot of responsibility with the purebred cattle, making decisions, heading the calving season and doing the majority of AI’ing along with helping his dad on the farming side. Thanks again to our hired help – Cole McHattie, Chase Muxlow and our night watchman, Dale Ehrhardt.
We believe this is one of the best and most consistent group of bulls we’ve ever offered. Our Reds are headed by two new bulls – Red Top 108L and Ultra/HVAL Tommy Gunn 32L – what a set of bulls they have sired! We also have bulls by the popular Mountain View and another young walking bull, DESS Crush 31L. Our Black Bulls are again headed by a very strong group of RF Bloodline bulls, mixed in with some Calibers, Rizzinis and KWA Sliders. Our Fullblood Bulls are mostly polled this year. There’s a strong group of calving ease bulls to performance bulls. Again, we are saying that this group of Red, Black and Fullblood bulls are the most uniform and consistent group ever.
We invite you to our 46th Annual Bull and Female on Friday, March 6th at Johnstone Auction Mart in Moose Jaw, SK, where approximately 90 bulls and a dozen heifers will be offered. The sale is a live auction sale where the bulls will be going through the ring. The sale is also online with DLMS (Mark Shologan at 780-699-5082) if you are unable to attend the sale. The bulls and heifers will be available for viewing at Johnstone’s in Moose Jaw Wednesday, Thursday and of course Friday, March 6th. Even better yet, come to our farm and see the bulls and heifers prior to the sale. The coffee is always on!
If you have any questions, please call Barry at (306)815-7900, Brodyn at (306)815-7804 or Kyron Manske at (306)267-7530 or call our Sale Managers, Bohrson Marketing Sale Staff, to evaluate the offering for you.
P.S. Grandkids have grown up way too fast except for Brodyn, LOL!, as he is back at the farm and a big part of LaBatte Simmentals. Jory, Lynlee & Hayley’s middle son, is off to the U of S in Saskatoon going in for a Psychologist, Emry has just graduated from Hair Dressing School, and Jenna is taking a Business Course in Moose Jaw. Zayne & Sierra are in Grade 11 & 10 and will be soon deciding their careers.

RED BULLS
On offer is the best and most consistent set of red bulls we have ever offered. Headed by some of Red Top 108L, Ultra/HVAL Tommy Gunn and the WFL Mountain View bull. They are thick, deep, big topped, hairy been machines.
IPU 4K MT. VIEW 17N
HOMO POLLED
A dark red super stout bull off of the popular Mountain View bull out of a good young seasonal calving Approval daughter. This 17N bull is thick, heavy muscled, deep, hairy and has a Herd Bull presence about him. He possesses a great set of EPD’s from calving, performance, carcass traits along with a big API and TI EPD. He’s got a low 82lb birthweight, weaned off his mother at 850lbs, and is the kind you would like a whole pen of.
HOMO POLLED
Another Mountain View son off of a really good Top Tier cow, who raised our second highest selling red bull last year – a full brother to 23N. This Mountain View son is just like him, dark cherry red, huge top and quarter, correct and stylish. He too has good calving ease numbers and performance numbers. His mother is a really good-uddered performance cow going back to the mother of IPU Lieutenant 24E bull. What a set of feeder calves and replacement females he would raise!
HOMO POLLED
Here’s a really nice red baldy calving ease prospect out of a baldy first calving 2 year old. Shamrock 22N has a nice 72lb birthweight and a short gestation length of 276 days. Gestation length is very important in our program as I believe it’s as important as birthweight. He has a calving ease number of 9.3 in the top 30% of the breed and a birthweight number of 1.6 in the top 20% of the breed. He’s got a perfect blaze, is smooth made, great haircoat and is stylish.
HOMO POLLED
A ¾ brother to the Lot 3 Shamrock bull out of a first calving Loyalty daughter. Shamrock is a AI calving ease bull we used along with Top Tier on our heifers. 34N started at 78lbs born unassisted with a 278 gestation. He’s dark cherry red, has good quarter and muscle, is stylish and complete. Look at his EPD profile. It doesn’t get much better from calving ease, performance, carcass numbers to API to TI. A real prospect for the heifer pen!
HOMO POLLED
A really good dark cherry red son of Mountain View that is a quarter Fleckvieh. His mother is a nice-uddered, first calving Walk the Line daughter out of a really good Fleck cow. This bull will add performance as he’s in the top 1% of the breed for weaning and yearling weight and possesses great carcass numbers. He is a very long-made bull, smooth, about as red as you can get, great-haired as are all the Mountain View progeny, and they are great uddered females. If you are looking for a red bull with a touch of Fleck in him – here’s your answer.

A very clean made Shamrock son out of a good Walk the Line first calf heifer, going back to the Pocahontas 2Y cow. This bull carries some frame, really nice-headed and clean-fronted, has an excellent haircoat and is super long. This bull should leave you some very good replacement females that are attractive and very saleable.
HOMO POLLED TEST PENDING
A solid Mountain View son that is a twin to Lot 8 (47N) out of a first calving Potent daughter. Got to love it when 2-year-olds have twins! No! 46N is dark, cherry red, great haired, very long bodied and stylish. For twins, these bulls have come along good and will sire some excellent calves especially replacement females. He has an excellent set of EPD’s as well with positive traits in 11 of 13 traits.
HOMO POLLED TEST PENDING
This is the other twin Mountain View son that’s even darker and longer than his brother, 46N. He’s really smooth-made, niceheaded and attractive. These twin bulls are a quarter Fleckvieh going back to a Potent daughter out of a Fleckvieh cow. We really like these have Fleck cows, as they make great mothers. Again, he has a great EPD profile too.
HOMO POLLED
One of our favourite bulls! A powerful Mountain View bull out of a good, young Potent female. These Potent females are making really good cows with very good udder quality. This guy is dark red, has great depth, he’s full of capacity and muscle, huge-topped, has great hair and is just plain powerful. He is in the top 1% of the breed for Weaning Weight EPD and top 1% for Yearling Weight EPD. If you want to raise some calves with performance, color and style - here he is!
IPU 129H TOMMY 55N
HOMO POLLED
Our first Tommy Gunn bull and he is a good one! We are very happy with the Tommy Gunn bulls. His mother is again a half Fleck cow out of the 105B Dakota cow that was here for a long time. This bull is deep, goodquartered, has lots of top, very smoothmade, attractive and is the right kind that’s going to sire those sale topping calves at the auction mart and a great set of replacement heifers with a touch of Fleckvieh in them.
HOMO POLLED
Another really good Mountain View bull out a first calving 2-year-old Betts daughter that we really like. These Betts females are making really good cows, good udders, easy keepers and they themselves can produce. This 61N Mountain View bull is dark cherry red, hairy, deep-bodied, bigtopped, and has an excellent quarter. He will sire excellent progeny both bulls and females, the kind the commercial men and women appreciate.

This is her second bull going to the sale, the first a calving ease bull by Top Tier sold to Crossroad Farms at Shell Lake, SK. We have two of her daughters retained in the herd as well. 66N has a very nice balanced set of EPD’s. Calving and Birthweight EPD’s both in the top 15%. He had an 84lb birthweight, has a star on his head, is smooth-made, good-quartered and attractive.
A standout Tommy Gunn bull that is as red as you can make them – we call them blood red. He’s huge-topped, really thick, just a very well balanced feature bull. His mother, an Encore daughter, has had three calves, first bull calf sold to the good people at K3 Ag at Ituna, her second - a heifer calf sold through this sale as a feature red heifer to Scott Morrison from Ontario and now this exceptional Tommy Gunn bull. Another really good Red Top son out a Red Zone Pocahontas 2Y daughter. 85N is stout made with lots of muscle, hair, quarter and a good disposition. That’s one thing we put a lot of emphasis on at our place. We have no time for cattle with bad dispositions and neither do the commercial cattlemen. As we get older this becomes an even more important trait.

He ranked 15/82 for adjusted weaning weight. 244N is deep-bodied, has lots of capacity, he’s dark-coloured and could sire a group of high performance offspring, both male and females.

HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK
A feature Robb Warrior son out of a first calf Yuma daughter. He’s been a standout since birth. He’s huge-topped, has a big old quarter on him, he’s deep-ribbed, full of capacity and he’s loose made. He has excellent hair that is straight, but very thick, he’s nice-headed with a touch of white on his forehead and he’s just a smooth made beef bull. He started at 78lbs, weaned off at 908lbs, indexing 14/82 in his contemporary group. His EPD profile is amazing, from calving performance, milk, maternal and great carcass traits with top 4% API and top 1% TI. 5N has a great future ahead of him – he’ll be easy to find sale day.
Another calving ease heifer prospect bull. A really good Sochi son out of a first calving Caliber daughter. He’s very smooth made, has a nice small head, clean front-end and is long-bodied. He is also deep-ribbed, bigtopped, great-haired and possesses an 80lb birthweight, so he could be eligible for the heifer pen. He has a short 277-day gestation as well.
HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK
A really good Hannibal son out of a first calving half-blood heifer. We still use the calving ease Hannibal bull on a few heifers every year. He’s got calving ease plus some performance. This 15N bull is really smooth made again, nice-headed, clean-fronted, good-haired, has a real good, muscled quarter and is stylish. He’s in the top 2% for calving ease and top 3% for birthweight. His daughters are in the top 10% for calving ease themselves. He is in the top 15% as well in marbling.

We always like to breed a couple heifers to Poker Face hoping to get heifer calves, as they make such good cows. Poker Face’s mother is one of the best-looking black cows that we have ever seen – a Temptation daughter. 27N has a white splash on his head, is very long bodied, made really nice through the front and stylish. He would raise some great replacement heifers.

We purchased RF Bloodline 242K, along with Oberle Farms in the Maxwell-Rancier 2023 Bull Sale. We started working on a small half blood program and this stud came along, we thought maybe as good a black bull that sold in the 2023 bull season. He was so impressive with his muscle, rib shape and overall balance. He had an actual weaning weights of 1105 lbs and a 1600 lbs yearling weight and yes he was a half blood sired by the $250,000 SAV Bloodline Angus bull out of a beautiful cow, the Flirt cow family. He cost us $50,000 but it was worth every penny of it as you will see with his sons, ½ bloods and ¾ bloods. Probably haven’t used a more consistent herd bull then Bloodline. He puts a little extra frame in them lots of muscle, rib and eye appeal. A true performance bull. We think you will be impressed again with his second set of bulls selling.
HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK
We are starting off this group of Bloodlines with the excellent 29N bull. He is mothered by one of our favourite cows on the farm, IPU Ms Sierra 76H, an IPU Bentley 81F daughter going back to a Liner 56U cow we flushed. Sierra is beautifully made, deep and angular, easy doing and has an excellent udder. She just recently produced a gorgeous heifer selling to Circle G Simmentals, Garth Cutler, AB, at Simmsational 2025 for $28,000. She has a son working at Klettberg Lakehead Farm at Archerwill, SK and two daughters retained in our herd. Her latest son, 29N, is stoutmade, big-topped, loose made and hairy. He has a nice set of balanced EPD’s also. What a set of soggy calves he would sire. Keep every heifer off him.
A true half-blood I call them. Half blood cow bred to a half-blood bull – the Result – a super made bull like 37N. His mother is an excellent blaze-faced cow, great uddered and to me, the ideal cow especially when she can raise bulls like this. This son of hers is long, deep, great-haired, thick-made and stylish. He weaned off his mother at 935lbs and rated 1/5 for adjusted weaning weight. He is in the top 1% for both adjusted weaning and yearling weight EPD’s. What a set of calves he would sire – the kind the feedlot buyers demand and the kind that top the market.
HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK
An excellent ¾ blood Bloodline son. For purebred breeders you breed a 15/16 or better female to a ¾ bull and her offspring will be classified as purebreds. His mother is a blaze faced Remington Lock N Load daughter with an excellent udder. 110N is deep-bodied, long-bodied, has a huge quarter and is big-topped. Just a really good bull.

A ¾ Bloodline out of a thirteen-year-old Springcreek Lotto daughter. She’s been a good one as this is her 4th bull through the sale, also 2 daughters have gone through the bull sale, and 3 daughters have been retained in the herd. 111N himself is in the top 5% for weaning weight and top 3% for yearling weight. This bull has a beautiful haircoat, is high capacity, deep-bodied and attractive.
Another true ½ blood sired by Bloodline out of a good JHSN Wide Load daughter we purchased at the R Plus dispersal. One of our picks of the cows. She’s had many progeny sell through R Plus’s Bull Sale and ours including some heifers. 128N is homo polled and homo black, he’s deepbodied, hairy, long-made and would sire an excellent set of replacement females and stout steer calves.
A good Bloodline bull again out of a thirteenyear-old cow. 132A has had eleven calves in a row, never missing a year. That’s fertility! This is her 7th bull going to Moose Jaw to our sale. That’s production! This loose-made, deep-bodied herd bull will sire the right kind that is so in demand at the auction marts.
HOMO POLLED/HOMO BLACK
A ¾ brother to Lot 44 – both ¾ bloods and both good. The mother to this bull is a really good IPU Bentley 81F daughter who has three daughters in our herd. This is her first bull calf and he is a dandy. Beautiful hair coat (you hear me talk about haircoats a lot. It’s a very important trait where I live in Saskatchewan. As I write this footnote, it’s -35 degrees Celsius with some wind. Brrr! That’s cold and those hairy cattle can take it a lot better. They like them in the feedlots too). 140N is also deep-ribbed, soft made, long and stout. What a set of feeder cattle he would raise.

He has a great set of EPD’s from calving, performance, milk, maternally and marbling. He weaned off his mother at 908 lbs indexing 1 out of his 5 contemparies for adjusted weaning weight. He is herdbull quality... big time.

Again, another true ½ blood, a Bloodline out of another ½ blood cow we bought out of the R Plus dispersal. This is her sixth consecutive calf, and he is a good one. We have a full sister calving this year at the ranch. Hair – hair he has got it, he’s deepbodied, smooth made, has good quarter and a big top, he’s clean fronted with a really nice head. A good Bloodline bull off of probably our favourite black cow in our herd. Ourselves and Circle 7 Ranch purchased her out of the R Plus dispersal. She was our pick of the herd, causing us to pay $50,000 for her. Her bull calf was the high selling black bull at Marlin’s dispersal as well. To me, she is almost the perfect cow except she doesn’t want to give us many embryos! Her natural calf, 188N, is a standout and there is an embryo calf that is really good too. 166N will sire some awesome females and bulls and put performance in his calf crop.

A feature purebred black bull again out our favourite black cow 7172E and sired by Tommy Gunn, so a different pedigree in the black world. This is 7172E’s natural calf. They were out to Bow Valley getting his mother flushed this spring and her calf continued to do so well. He’s huge made, with a big old middle, big-topped, big-quartered, excellent hair, nice blaze on his head, he has great disposition and he’s POWERFUL! We believe there is a lot of opportunity in this bull. We plan to use him through A.I. ourselves. With a mother like 7172E and an outcross pedigree from his sire – the awesome Tommy Gunn bull – we think his future is endless.

NON DILUTOR A really good Polled Advantage son out of one our very favourite cows, Black Gold Ms Perry 141F. She has had some sons go through this sale before selling to Pine Creek Simmemtals, AB, Silzer Land and Cattle, SK, Mills Farms Cupar, SK and now this good Polled Advantage son. We also have two outstanding Polled daughters in the herd with one of them going into our donor program this spring, following in her mother’s footsteps. 191N himself has great hair, he’s dark red, bigtopped, good quartered and stylish. What a set of replacement heifers he would sire with a mother like he has got.

Another 141F son going to the bull sale making him the fifth. His sire is none other than the $100,000 selling Silver Lake Jackson 24J who sold in the world sale in 2024 as a three-year-old. He was very impressive at that sale - a meat machine. 203N himself is big-topped, deep-bodied with a good quarter and comes in a dark red package.

A polled Barbarian son out of the really good cow Keet’s Jan 38F. This is the third bull she is sending to the Bull Sale. Others sold to Richie Joint, MB and Reiten Holdings, Shaunavon, SK. 38F is a nice uddered, well balanced, deep ribbed cow we bought from Keet Simmentals at the Fleckvieh Equation Sale as a bred heifer. 218N is dark red, thick made, smooth with lots of capacity. He has am adjusted weaning weight of 840 lbs ranking himi 11/82 contemparies. This smooth made, dark red bull will be a bull to look up Bull Sale day.

This is a really good Barbarian bull off of a super polled Southseven Mr. Adonis 96Z cow. As I said before I think Adonis 96Z is maybe the best Fleckvieh bull ever born. 223N’s dam is in our transplant donor program. You should see the beautiful Prime bull calf she has on her this year sucking a beautiful 177G udder. 223N has two big goggles, is very deep-bodied, has an excellent quarter, a beautiful haircoat and is big-topped. He has a great pedigree and is a really great bull.

A look-alike to the 223N Barbarian bull. He has the same dark colour, great haircoat, he’s big-topped, has big goggles and is good quartered. He started at 78lbs and ended up with an adjusted weaning weight of 839lbs ranking him 12/82 against his contemporaries. He has an excellent EPD profile also. 223N is also mothered by one of those good Black Gold Elevation daughters coming with her third bull to the sale.

A tremendous Barbarian son out of a really good Black Gold Bridge cow that’s done a great job for us. Her mother Richochet Aimee was one of our best fullblood cows. We flushed her once and should have done her more times. This Bridge daughter of hers is a very good cow in her own right. She has a son that sold this past spring to Austin Zerie at Assiniboia, SK and now this really good Barbarian son that’s plain powerful. He started off with a nice 96lb birthweight and grew into a big, rugged, powerful bull. He was born the last day of February, so he is just turning 12 months a week before the sale. He has an adjusted weaning weight of 875lbs indexing him 3/82 bulls. That’s performance! He’s bigtopped, very deep-bodied, has a good big old quarter, has two big goggles and is a nice dark red colour. Very proud to have raised this powerhouse.

He was raised by a good Black Gold Elevation two-year-old heifer with a nice udder. If you’re looking for a calving ease heifer bull, be sure to give Honky Tonk 86N a good look!

A really nice made North Star bull out a first calving Battle Cry heifer. These young Battle Cry females are making really good young cows with good udders. North Star 98N is dark red, he’s red right down to his red hooves – all four, he’s very smooth and nice headed. I definitely wouldn’t be scared to use him in the heifer pen.
A real feature Polled North Star son that has maybe been our favourite fullblood bull all summer long. He is mothered by an excellent RWR Walker 15J daughter. We had problems with the Walker bull with semen quality and had to sell him. We ended up with just four progeny off of him - two bulls and two heifers. The two heifers we have in our herd are outstanding producing females. Such a shame we had to get rid of him. The 106N bull has one big wrap-around goggle, he’s smooth polled, great haired, dark cherry red, long bodied, big quartered and big topped. Just a true herd bull in the making. There’s a lot of opportunity here in this feature polled bull.

A definite calving ease prospect for the heifer pen. He again is out of a really good Battle Cry first calving heifer making him a ¾ brother to lots 75 and 76. Again, a similar type bull to them. He has a nice low birthweight of 76lbs, born unassisted, he’s dark blood red, has smaller goggles, a really nice small head, he’s long bodied and smooth made. He had an adjusted weaning weight of 822lbs ranking him 23/82 bulls. He is one of our feature calving ease fullblood bulls. Put him on Angus heifers and make those baldy moneymaking progeny – red or black.

A really nice made, red, homo polled North Star son that’s got an almost blaze face, he’s red right down to his legs and belly. 221N is great haired, good quartered and is very eye catching. Maybe use this guy on Angus, Simmental or Charolais to make the blaze faces that are so popular.

Welcome to the 46th Annual LaBatte Simmentals Bull and Female Sale! We’re excited to present another group of bulls this year. A heartfelt thank you to Barry and Brenda for continuing to have us as the guest consignor. It’s always a privilege to be part of this event.
Our daughters, Embrie and Eva, continue to grow and keep us busy. Embrie is thriving in Grade 2 and loving every bit of her learning adventure. Eva started in Pre K this year and is enjoying being in school as well. They started showing cattle this year and it has been rewarding witnessing them become more involved with the industry.
Wow, what a ride this cattle business has been the last two years! We are blasting through record prices and this market is looking to hold into the foreseeable future. Aside from the high prices it is a breath of fresh air to see a renewed optimism coming over the cattle industry. Ranchers have a bit of breathing room and hopefully getting caught up on a few of the lingering effects of the drought.
This year we had a major change in our operation by having an opportunity to purchase some pasture land and effectively double our carrying capacity. With this came some major changes and as many of you have seen we were marketing of large group of commercial bred heifers last fall. We plan to be doing this again this year and are in the market for a larger group/groups of one iron heifers. If you have some open replacement heifers to market we would love to have a conversation.
All the bulls are part of our comprehensive herd health program, will be semen tested, and are fully guaranteed. Delivery is free of charge, though we ask that any bulls returning to our farm for wintering are insured. Most of the bulls in our offering have been homo polled and homo black tested aside from the ones that are known by parentage. All information will be made available sale day.
Visitors are always welcome to view the bulls at the farm, or feel free to call us to discuss the offering. Videos of the bulls are available at www.eastpoplarsimmentals.com. If you can’t make it to the sale, the Bohrson Marketing team listed at the beginning of the catalogue is ready to assist, or you can reach out to myself or Barry directly with any questions.
We look forward to seeing you all on March 6th at Johnstone Auction Mart in Moose Jaw, SK, or online with DLMS! Kyron Manske
East Poplar MANDATE 503N
Poplar EMPEROR 511N
503N is a classic Mandate son: great feet,
with great muscle development. The Mandate daughters in our herd are really impressing me for their beautiful udder structure. They are also passing along Mandate’s shorter gestation which adds calving ease to any mating.
HOMO POLLED BY PARENTAGE, HETERO BLACK
Here is a bull with a lot of presence and look about him. 511N is a direct son of the great Emmy cow that has been very popular in the Simmental business in the last few years. ¾ siblings to this guy made a stir last year in the show ring as well as leading off the Friday Night Lights sale. We also showed the full sibling to this guy this fall and are excited about her future here and anticipate building a cow family around her. 511N is sound from the ground up, long spined and hairy with that sought after white face.

If you’re in the market for a calving ease black bull take note of this guy. Light at birth, out of a Mandate dam, and high CE and BW EPDs make him a great candidate for the heifer pen. The Mandate females are passing along his short gestation and 301L is one of our favorites from that sire group. We used Southside very successfully and really like the way these calves have turned out.

Depth and softness is what I’ve got written beside this guy. Look to this guy to add performance to his calf crop. He grabs your attention when you’re in the pen and his calves are sure to grab the attention of the order buyer at the auction mart next fall.
The youngest bull in the offering but be sure to take a close look at him. Full of mass and muscle this half blood is one that continues to impress me. Loads of top and excellent spring of rib. Added bonus of a bit of chrome on his face.
Another Intensity bull here, this one being a bit more moderate that the other two in the pen. If you are wanting to add some style and hair to your calves this would be a great choice.

East Poplar RANCHER 525N
HOMO POLLED BY PARENTAGE
This is a bull who has impressed us from a young age. His young dam was selected out of the 2023 FNL sale by Dwayne Paterson from the good people at City View. ‘Licorice’ did a great job on her first calf here and the kids have enjoyed the licorice treats Dwayne brings each time he comes to check out his cow. 528N is wide topped, deep quartered and well mannered.
East Poplar RANCHER 543N
SVS
Here is a bull with a cow family behind him that has been around here since we got into purebreds in 2005. If you get a chance to see his dam you will see why this family stands the test of time. She has one of the best udders in the cow herd and is a fault free, sound footed type of female that we think a lot of. If you are looking for a bull to raise top end replacement females this is one to be sure to mark.

This was our first crop of Rancher calves and we have been happy with them. What we really value is a bull that can produce and consistently ‘stamp’ them. SVS Rancher definitely checks that box and more. 551N is a power bull that is sure to stamp your next set of steers with a few added pounds and a heavy hair coat.
HOMO POLLED
The cow family behind this bull is something I get more excited about every year. The 642D cow is one that is easy to find here and is the ideal type for us, great udder, feminine, blaze face and deep bodied. 553N’s dam, 2103K, is a female with a bright future ahead of her and we are extremely impressed with the job she did on this long spined individual, but also on her Boomer calf this year. A maternal sister to 2103K was Embrie’s junior project this year and we are looking forward to her production in the years to come.

Kelsey tells me this is her pick of the red bulls and its easy to see why. He has the presence of a big time herd bull and softness in his movement. His dam goes back to one of our original “P” cows when we started in purebreds and this Betts cow is easy to love. Take it from someone who knows, Kelsey’s always right so buy this guy with confidence.
HOMO POLLED BY PARENTAGE
To say I’m happy with the way this guy has turned out would be an understatement. He came in dam from the great Westway program out of their ‘Sale of the Decade’. His dam 3062L was a high seller that day and it is easy to see why. Perfect udder, power cow and a great temperament. 568N is a true heifer bull in my opinion, but ties that together with good performance, cherry red heavy hair coat, and a great EPD profile. Take a close look at this guy.
OPEN HEIFERS
LaBatte Simmentals will be consigning 11 open heifers to this year’s sale. A really good group that weren’t picked out till a week before pictures. They were put on feed then as before they were getting 4-5 lbs of pellets a day and free choice hay. The reds are featured by the Red Top 108L bull, Ultra/HVAL Tommy Gunn and Top Tier daughter. Blacks are sired by RF Caliber, Hannibal, North Star and Sochi. Two elite fullbloods, both polled, one by Modano and one by North Star.
If you have any questions about the heifers, give Barry or Brodyn a call. Better yet call Hayley at 306-815-7700, she knows them the best. Or better yet come and have a look at them on the farm before the sale. We would be glad to show you them and their brothers in the bull pen and have a coffee.
This is a true feature heifer! She’s been a standout since summer. Sired by the awesome Red Top 108L blaze faced bull we couldn’t be happier with both bulls and heifers from him. She is mothered by a super uddered Betts cow who is one of our favorite red

This heifer has style to burn, beautiful haircoat, very clean fronted and nice headed, angular and stylish. She weaned off her two year old mother at 746 lbs, has an exceptional set of EPD’s, way above average in 11/13 traits.

Something a little different here. A black blaze half Fleck heifer. This is the only mature cow we bred to North Star, the rest were all first calf heifers. 76F is homo polled and homo black so were assured of a black calf and she’s a good one. Really deep and angular, nice fronted and feminine. Could be the start of a new cow family!
A feature black heifer that’s a really good one. A RF Caliber daughter out of a Dynasty cow we bought out of the Mader Production sale as a bred heifer. She was our pick of the black breds. She goes back to the famous Mader Iron Sugar 7X cow family. This 130N heifer is very stylish, clean made with a beautiful head and neck design. She’s great haired like all the Caliber’s are, angular and feminine. Put a show halter on her or just make her a front pasture cow – she’s that good!

A really good Kuntz North Star heifer out of a South Seven Adonis female that was a two year old when 64N was born unassisted. We were so happy with these North Star calves. They come so easy, all born in 2025 were born unassisted, tremendous vigor too, they grow and both bulls and heifers which are also red, have big goggles, red lips, deep ribbed and angular and is polled. Be sure to give this heifer a good look as she’s got a lot of opportunity in her. Look at her EPD profile also.

A feature polled Modano heifer that’s high on our list. She’s out of a really good Battle Cry daughter we purchased from Black Gold. These Battle Cry daughters are producers.
