WELCOME
Welcome to our 8th Annual Bull and Female Sale! If you have been with us from the start, THANK YOU we sure appreciate your support of our program. If your new, Welcome...we hope you can plan a time to walk thru our cow pens and pastures to see for yourself what we feel makes a great Angus herd; great Angus females! We spend countless days touring cattle searching for genetics that will work back home for us. These many miles have certainly improved our cow herd and bull sale offering; and we have made some wonderful Angus friendships along the way.
We hope you love the Open Range crosses as much as we do, they have exceeded our expectations, and we are going to continue to use him heavily in our program. We would like to introduce you to Stellfplug KADE 2050, a mature bull that has the best feet of anything bull we have seen; last but not least the Tango bull is going to see more use in 2026, and we are excited to cross some Open Range females that way.
The bulls were weaned Sept 12th and brought along slowly for longevity, on Zoetis herd health, two doses of foot rot vaccine and semen tested prior to sale day. If you are in the market for some straight Angus commercial females we have 3 groups of 5 on offer this year.
Sale day is Thursday March 19th at 2pm at the Parkbeg Ranch, we hope you can join us for some hospitality and if not, you can watch online and bid with confidence on DLMS. Please give us a call with any questions or assistance with your selections.
Sincerely JP and Marlene

HIGH-DENSITY GENOMIC TEST
Genomically enhanced GEPDs can be up to 40% more accurate than EPDs.
On young animals, this gives Canadian Angus members and their commercial customers the ability to identify animals with superior genetic merit or breeding value with more accuracy. Considering there is little room for mistakes in the cattle business, this investment in genomics and additional accuracy is invaluable.
TEST INCLUDES PARENT VERIFICATION
Angus HD testing is an investment that some Canadian Angus breeders make to enhance the information available to their customers. Genomic technology contributes to:
1. More accurate EPDs, particularly on younger, unproven animals, and 2. EPDs for traits that are difficult or expensive to measure like tenderness, marbling, docility, foot angle, claw set, and feed efficiency.
GENOMIC PERCENTILE RANKS DEFINITION OF TRAITS
Calving Ease Direct (CED)
Is an indicator of an animal’s genetic potential for unassisted births in first-calf heifers. Animals in the top 20th percentile of the breed indicate more direct calf calving ease than animals in the bottom 80th percentile.
Birth Weight (BW)
Measures genetic potential for calf weight at birth. Animals in the top 20th percentile of the breed indicate lighter birth weight calves than animals in the bottom 80th percentile.
Weaning Weight (WW)
Is a measure of genetic potential for calf weight at weaning. Animals in the top 20th percentile of the breed indicate more pounds of weaning growth than animals in the bottom 80th percentile.
Yearling Weight (YW)
Describes an animal’s potential for calf weight at one year of age. Animals in the top 20th percentile of the breed indicate more pounds of post weaning growth than animals in the bottom 80th percentile.
Yearling Height (YH)

FIVE ROLLS OF AGED TRIPLE SMOKE ALL BEEF CHARCUTERIRE
All Proceeds will be donated to Huxley Berting
When the cattle industry sees a need we come together to help. If you know JP, you know about Triple Smoke All Beef Sausage. Garry and Donna Berting of Middle Lake first introduced us to Triple Smoke, many of you probably have met them at our bull sale. We have had so many inquiries to purchase Triple Smoke that we are donating 5 rolls ( approx. 2.5 lbs. each) to support Huxley Berting expenses as he travels twice weekly physio appointments in Regina. Please help us help a great young cattleman.

VETERINARY SERVICE PROVIDER
JP and Marlene Monvoisin of JPM Farms at Gravelbourg are a premier cattle breeding operation that we have had the privilege to work with for many years. Their operation focuses on high quality genetics and high-quality herd health. These goals are achieved by strict genetic selection. targeted culling and an optimal herd health program. We work prudently with JPM Farms to ensure that the best preventive medicine and protocols are implemented at each stage of development. Their animal treatment knowledge and animal handling skills are excellent. I would not hesitate to purchase an animal from such a well-managed operation.

• When we say we would breed every single cow we own to Open Range it isn’t an exaggeration… I am quite sure he could get the job done, very few bulls are that efficient of breeders. His daughters are very feminine and correct as yearlings and just grow into themselves keeping that distinct front end with tons of milk and exceptional udders. Open Range has proved himself to be a calving ease sire mostly because of his phenotype; smooth shouldered with authentic Angus breed character and gender specific traits. We bred 100% of our commercial heifers to Open Range in 2024. Open Range will improve overall maternal qualities, structural integrity, fertility, and calving ease with extra performance. His full sisters: EA Bells Girl 1064 and 1144 are at the top of the Ellingson donor pen, proving that know matter how they are bred, they are producers. He is a direct son the iconic donor EA Bells Girl 2181, Open Ranges maternal sister; EA Bells Girl 7617 produced the well known Ellingson Badlands 0285, Preeminent, Progressive, Elite and Brickhouse, a true testament to the maternal excellence of the Bells Girl family.

• It is a real honor to lead off our 2026 offering with a top and bottom bred JPM Farms natural born bull, JPM OLD POST 150N. Calving ease through and through plus big-time performance. This is a bull we would be comfortable using on every single commercial heifer we own. The value of a true heifer bull when your selling bred heifers is immeasurable… these calves will have lots of vigor and grow and the females will make the replacement pen. The granddam is CA Brill Miss Evergreen 101, one of the best cows to ever come from the Sankey program and the grand sire is HA Cowboy Up. In our very first bull sale, JPM Reride 75F sold to Kody Traxel of Seven Persons, AB; Reride 75F went on to sire bulls with great feet and lots of scrotal. We are going to use him back heavily in 2026.

That fall we were touring in Nebraska and discovered the Sitz Henrietta Pride Y2 donor cow, WOW she is a model angus female. Combining the extension and femininity that Y2 adds and the structure of Barricade 632F we think Kade 2050 a total package and the foot improver everyone is searching for. It was in part why we were so confident using Stellpflug Kade2050 so heavily in our program. As there is virtually no semen left in Canada on 632F, JP used his contacts and located a few straws; Lots 19 & 20 are a result of the mating with the CFS Erica 34X donor. We let Erica 34X go last spring at the age of 15, still sound with that tight, tight udder. Long sided with excellent feet these bulls will get some attention on sale day.

Woodrow left us some great maternal cows and JPM Celine 295G is one of them.

• The Lewis 3043J Bravo son that we call Tango, was the high selling black bull from the 2023 Lewis Farms bull sale. This bull has consistently covered cows the past few years and had some really nice younger bulls in the sale. Tango has really developed nicely; he is great footed with lots of hair and a big middle. He is an outcross to our program and all our customers programs; the udders are excellent on his first females.Tango is going to see a bunch of those beautiful Open Range females in 2026.
